The real story starts in Chapter 14, so you can skip it if you want, but it would make the story less interesting. I recommend you push through these 14 chapters for proper context and fun reading.

45. RAGNAR GUNNAR

Every other warrior's aura flared up as they assaulted Zachery with excellent coordination as soon as Zachery ended the sword user. But it appeared that their Goddess was not with her worshippers.

Four golden aura fists materialized and met their individual attacks, then... they turned into blood mist...

When an aura and an aura collide, the one with the greater quantity or quality will win. It was just a matter of who had which more, and in this situation, Zachery won in both.

[Spirit:- 15-->25]

[Energy of Origin: 15-->25]

Every energy was encased by [Energy of Origin] and converted into a single, measurable metric unit. The first energy to ever exist in the Omniverse was actually born as Origin energy.

It was kind of like the progenitor of all energy.

Your body's ability to store energy was determined by [Energy of Origin], and [Spirit] dictated the quality of the energy you could hold inside your body.

And Zachery technically had the stat of a Rank 3 in two of them. So, no matter how much Rank 1 anyone sent against him, would be like sending a chicken against a Lion...

Additionally, Zachery's strength was not such that it could turn a person's body into a mist of blood. With the perfect technique and expert body control, it was conceivable with strength well beyond Zachery's right now.

Three things made it possible for Zachery to transform human bodies into bloodmist. The vast distance between Zachery and the soldiers was the first reason.

Second, he had an aura that was incredibly alive and pure, which he could manipulate and erupt as he pleased.

Your instinct, experience, and trust all played a role in the energy of aura awakening. Your subconscious mind's instincts, your experience with life-or-death situations, and your trust in your skills.

To be honest, awakening aura wasn't all that difficult. Zachery, who had appalling talent, had even managed to awaken aura by plain and simple effort.

As a result, Zachery was presently wielding an aura that was far more powerful than anything Etheria had ever thought possible.

His combat spirit, Alex, and he all made use of his aura. Two more consciousnesses had added experience like that. Consequently, he improved the quality of his aura and acquired a new advantage.

Like a Battle God, Zachery saw how smoothly everything were going while observing the battlefield. He was commanding a quick and ferocious counterattack with his army of five Rank 1 fighters.

It appeared that their liege steamrolling Rank 1 had embarrassed them, and they felt the need to make up for it by steamrolling commoners.

It appeared as though point A had been obtained. Zachery exhaled a sigh of satisfaction as he reduced the Lion's intensity and increased Leon's influence.

As he took the sword he had thrown over, Zachery's golden eyes grew dim. Even the rulers of numerous notable Empires would engage in combat over this blade.

As soon as he summoned the Lion's influence, he just threw it over because of his extreme pride.

Without a sheath on his body, Zachery simply held his sword in his hands while staring at the wall behind him. Before finally settling on a subject, his vision appeared to have traveled across numerous turrets and buildings as well as numerous archery and melee conflicts as it landed on a figure.

  A barely alive, bleeding figure.

It seemed that Zachery was going to use the spare contract he had right now.

----------------------------------

Ragnar The Berserker, also, and more prominently known as Ragnar Gunnar, was the heir of the tribe of Skjöldung. He was born with tremendous aptitude in every conceivable area, and most importantly, he was born with a body that was incredibly strong, earning him the nickname Berserker.

His accomplishment for his tribe was numerous, as he had earned a title for himself at the tender age of 16 in wars fought among Warkarians.

But his father didn't see him as a potential heir but as an early retirement for his own throne. His father had done his best to remove him from the equation itself. Poison, war drafting, schemes, etc, were numerous as they came after Ragnar like a never-ending fall of swords and spears.

But, by the mercy of the All-Mother, Ragnar had avoided every assassination attempt his father had made against him. He was tired of his father's tyrannical rule and enslavement of his own people. He collected his own backing and, at the age of 18, murdered his own father, earning yet another title...

The Kin Slayer.

Warkarians were a group of humans born with remarkable physiques, but All-Mother Rie had taken something else away from them in exchange for their extraordinary physiques.

Every Warkarian was born in lands that were barren.

They struggled for food and perished from starvation. That's when his father Gunner, Hurlestein, and Bjorn, the three high tribal lords, banded together and began raiding.

Raiding became a culture among Warkarians after that. They were regarded as barbarians and bandits on the continent of Criteria, and for good reason.

They had slain far too many Criterians and left such a scar that mothers used Warkarins as boogeymen to keep their children from doing something bad.

They had created dread and suffering among the Criteria, and their reign was brought to an end by the coalition of the Leon Empire and the Dracon Empire. Their defeat spiraled out of control as internal strife erupted among the three high tribal rulers.

Finally, the Skjöldung tribe guaranteed their stability by forming an alliance with the Leon Empire. And now that the Leon Empire was in terrible straits, they had summoned every alliance they could find, one of which was the Skjöldung tribe.

There was no way they could reject the alliance because if they did, the neighboring regions of Skjöldung would attack like frenzied wolves, destroying the tribe as a whole.

So he came here with his 1,000-strong army, but he was injured by a Rank 2. Ragnar was about to die, or so he believed.
