1 The Birth of Onimaru

*It was a rainy day in the evening*

There was a woman who is a wife of a Samurai lord. She is in pain, trying to get the child out for she is pregnant and giving birth.

Old Maid : Just a little while longer, my lady.

Assistant : My lady, be strong. Your child will be here any minute now. *while grasping the hand of her highness*.

*Her highness looking to the side where the Goddess of mercy statue lies in the altar while breathing heavily*.

Outside where the Samurai general is waiting, worrying. But, he goes to a hill riding a horse, climbing to the entrance gate of a shrine, now going inside the temple known as the "Hall of Hell".

*Priest sitting in the Hall*

Priest : Sir Daigo ? One who steps into this Hall of Hell has made a choice. To cast off Buddha and the Gods in favor of the demons. I see, it is futile to try and stop you, but hear me one last time.

*Priest goes to his front*

Priest : Sir Daigo. To cast off Buddha is to tread the path of evil. It is to no longer be human. If you cross this line, hell will surely await you.

Daigo (Samurai General): Priest, we are already living in hell. The holy path to Buddha you pray for exists nowhere.

Priest : You will pay the consequences.

Daigo (Samurai General): I care not.

*Priest stands up quickly and tried to extinguish the candle's flame, but the samurai general was quick and cutted his back in cross. Blood splattered all over the ground and on the demon statues, the priest fell to the ground and failed to extinguish the flame for the flame is the only way to connect with the demons*.

Priest : I-I thank you, sir. This will be my salvation. This world is indeed hell, just as you said. The prayers I offered to the gods seemed more and more pointless. I always feared that someday, I would begin to doubt Buddha. I am glad to die before that day comes. Sir Daigo, please, stay away from the demons. Do not let yourself succumb to evil.

Daigo (Samurai General): It's too late for that. Demons, I am Daigo Kagemitsu. Lord of Ishikawa, and vassal to the governor of Kaga Province. Repeated famines and epidemics have swept my land, enfeebling my people to the point of death. As things stand, I shall never attain the power and renown I crave. My ambitions will remain a mere dream. But, I refuse to rely on the mercy of Buddha or the gods. What I am about to say to you is not a prayer. I came to make a deal. If you'll protect my land and let me rule the country, I will give you anything of mine. Anything, take whatever you wish. Do you hear me! *Hoping something will happen*

*A strong wind came and blew the candle, then a lightning strucked the temple and engraved a cross mark in his forehead*.

*Back to her highness giving birth after the samurai general returned*

Old Maid : My lady, just a bit more.

Kinoichi (Her Highness): Goddess of Mercy, please protect me... *crying in pain* *screaming*

Old Maid : *smiling happily* He is born!

*A lightning struck the house inside and also striked the goddess of mercy statue and broke it's head off*

*The samurai general's mark in the forehead glowed slightly*

*The Midwife quickly run away*

*The samurai general goes inside the house after the commotion*

Daigo (Samurai General): What is it?

Kinoichi (Her Highness): My Lord.

Daigo (Samurai General): Is the baby born?

Old Maid: *In shock* Ye-Yes, but...

Daigo (Samurai General): What? Say it.

Kinoichi (Her Highness): He is born, my lord. He is your son.

Assistant 2: My lady...

Daigo (Samurai General): A heir, you've done well!

Old Maid: Sir, no...!

*Daigo opens the blanket wrapping the baby, then he got shock*

Old Maid: I do not know what happened. He is alive, but has no limbs, eyes, nor a nose. He dosen't even have any skin, nor eyes. But only bones.

*Daigo remembers his oath to the demons*

Kinoichi (Her Highness): My lord, I feel a deep love for this woeful child of ours. No matter his appearance, he is our son. *shocked at Daigo*

*Daigo started grinning then laughed heavily and loudly*

Daigo (Samurai General): My dream will be fullfilled.

Kinoichi (Her Highness): My lord?

Daigo (Samurai General): The demons agreed to the deal. *Laughing again*. You need not worry. *Gives the infant to the old maid*. Thank you for bearing him.

*Old maid runs outside*

Kinoichi (Her Highness): What are you doing, stop! Wait. *Tries to stand but stopped by Daigo*

Daigo (Samurai General): Forget him. He never even existed. Now I will be the lord like I said to the demons.

Kinoichi (Her Highness):No! Don't!

Assistant 2: My lady, you must not get up yet.

Kinoichi (Her Highness): Please, have mercy.

Daigo (Lord): He wouldn't survive anyway.

Kinoichi (Her Highness): *crying* Then let him pass away in my arms.

Daigo (Lord): Enough!

*Daigo stands but kinoichi holds him until the part of the arm's cloth ripped and kinoichi fell to the ground*

Daigo (Lord): You will bear another child. You must. The next one will be the heir of a great ruler. *Then looked at the destroyed altar and go in front of it and saw the laying piece of the goddess of mercy's body without it's head and picks it up*

Daigo (Lord): What...

Assistant 2: It was blown away when the lightning struck. The Midwife said it sacrificed itself.

Daigo (Lord): Sacrificed?

*kinoichi lying on the ground crying*

*The Hall of Hell glows*
