5 (un)Happy Town

Rei ran as fast as he could, now as he was getting closer to the source of that explosion, he could hear several more sounds coming from there.

　 he could heard fighting, screaming, and also something he felt concerned about amidst the explosion sound, it was actualy sound of gunfire!

Rei felt his doubts about the gunfire sounds, as far as he knew, there was no gun in Naruto world! so where did those gunfire sounds coming from?

after several more jump, Rei finally saw smoke rising ahead. when he reached his destination what greeted him were the town gate with signs 'welcome to Happy Town' written on it and the destroyed town with fire everywhere!

"what the hell, what happened here?"

Rei slowed down, he walk inside the town and looked at the horrible scenes in front of him. towns burning, corpse strewn about, house collapsing. thanks to Hiruma's earlier memories, he only felt slight discomfort about it, if it was Rei from before he would undoubtedly retched and vomited if he saw something like this.

Rei also noticed something interesting, the corpse on the ground were all wearing old commoners clothes with dull color and loose pants, nothing like what people in Naruto world would usualy wear which came from japan historical period, this one feels like an outfit used in historical europe.

Rubbing his chin without decreasing his vigilance, Rei noticed boisterous laughter ahead.

there were several boorish and vulgar men drinking and joking to each other not far from where Rei stood. they were using the same style outfit as the corpses before, the difference was that they carried several weapons on their waist, huge saber, sword and the most eye catching thing was many of them straped with 17th century gun according to his knowledge!

now Rei had more doubts than ever, and he was quite sure this place wasn't the world of Naruto which gave him a huge relief. until finally he knew which world he had arrived to as he saw a huge pirate ship, mooring on the sea coastline not far from the towns dock with the huge jolly roger skull flag waving on top of its mast.

"pirates, so maybe this is Onepiece world?"

as Rei contemplated, the pirates finally noticed his pressence.

"oi guys! look whats that!" one of the men pointing at Rei whom standing on the street in the middle of burning towns.

"is that monster?"

the pirates stoped what were they doing and slowly took out their weapon as they walk closer to Rei.

"his skin and hair are white and it has horns!" exclaimed one of them.

"what kind of clothes is that? i never know about those style."

"its weird, i've never seen something like that before."

"careful guys, maybe he's realy a monster!"

slowly the pirates getting closer and closer as they unseathe their weapon and pointing the gun, and finally the bravest of them all shouted toward Rei.

"OI!!! what are you?"

Rei noticed the pirates with their weapons pointing at him, but he tried to keep calm and doesn't panic. it couldn't be helped, Rei has never been in this kind of situation before, just 3 days ago he was just an ordinary 25 years old shut in!

"who are you guys? were you the one who did all of this?" Rei asked slowly.

Rei voice was quite pleasant to hear after the transformation of his body, yet all the pirates could hear was something so extraordinarily bizare, he sounded like man and yet it was not, and he also sounded like woman and yet it wasn't.

facing such bizare creature, the pirates couldn't help but broke in cold sweat.

"do....don't come any closer!" shouted one of them.

tilting his head slightly, Rei was amused by their nervousness,

"am i that scary?" he thought.

Rei knew his appearance was unusual, as white skin, hair, and eyes wasn't odd enough, he also had small horns protruding out of his head.

for several seconds both Rei and the pirates were facing each other,

"li, listen! get back to where you came from! or we'll show you how scary our 'BOSS' pirates are!"

hearing the name, Rei was confused.

"who is your boss? is he your captain? what's his name?" he asked.

"Captain Boss is boss, WE ARE BOSS PIRATE!"

Rei couldn't help but choked as he heard the man explanation,

"boss? you mean captain?" he thought.

Rei asked once again due to his confusion, "yeah, i asked you guys who your boss is? it means your captain, who is your captain?"

pirate a, "our captain is boss, HE IS BOSS!"

Rei, "i ask his name! what's his name!?"

pirate b, "he is BOSS!"

Rei, "Boss means your captain right? i ask you guys, WHAT . IS . HIS . NAME?"

all of the pirates actualy answered him in unison this time,

"HE . IS . THE . BOSS!"

dumbfounded, Rei started to doubt about his own intelect or was this conversation make sense at all? all he wanted to know was their captain or boss name, not hard right? yet they always answered him with boss this and that!

suddenly Rei claped his hand in realization!

"AH! so your captain name is boss?"

the exasperated pirates shouted at him comically at the same time,

"AND YOU ONLY REALIZE IT?"

scratching his head due to embarrassment, Rei chuckled.

"i see, sorry, i thought it was you guys brain didn't worked well."

the strange scene occured until one of the door house right beside them opened, there was a man with scar across his lips steps out while bringing a huge sack with valuable on his back, seeing the scarred man, the pirates were jubilant.

"deputy captain!" cheered the pirates.

the man whom they called deputy captain were also startled seeing the scene in front of him, when he noticed Rei he asked,

"who's this?"

pirates a, "we don't know sir, he just appeared there!"

without any question the scarred man turns toward the dock while saying coldly,

"then, what are you doing? kill him! we're going."

Rei felt incredulous as he saw the man walked away, suddenly he sensed danger coming from those group of pirates!

'Bang!'

one of them actualy shot him! but thanks to his fast reflect, Rei kicked the ground intending to dodge toward his right.

'BOOOOM!'

Rei whole body flew out toward the house wall and he actualy broke through it! just like bulldozer hitting the wall.

the pirates were dumbfounded as they saw humanoid shape appeared on the broken wall due to collision with Rei.

*cough *cough *cough

opening the door, Rei reappeared from inside the house, thankfully he was able to dodge the bullet, Rei doesn't know if his body could withstood bullet but being careful as he was he doesn't want to take the chance!

"cough*, so uncool!" he murmured trying to hide his embarrassment.

"shit, BROTHERS KILL HIIIM!!!" yelled one of the pirate while swinging his saber towards Rei.

the other pirates actually follows, yet as battle commence, Rei chūnin battle experience kicks in and coupled with his new body, he saw something surreal, everything has slowed down!

Rei could see clearly each of their appearances, movements, expression and even their own sweats!

'Swish....!'

Rei dodge the first pirate huge saber by only stepping away slightly and retaliate! he swung his fist toward his opponent!

'Whaaaam!'

the pirate flew out faster than when he approached, he hit house wall on the other side and broke through it!

at that moment everything stopped, all pirates saw their friend was charging towards Rei and yet only in second later he flew out of the battle! seriously? how strong is their enemy if he could make an adult man flew so far out with a single punch?

but they are pirates, facing life and death situation wasn't something strange in their life!

"sorry guys, i still can't adjust my strength well." said Rei.

"DAMN MONSTER!!!"

'BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!'

knowing close combat was dangerous for them, several pirates shoots Rei with all their guns, Rei was quite flustered at first, he moved left and right, ducked, jumped. anything he could do to avoid getting shot.

but as time passes, Rei begun adapting to his strength and feels the change within his body, he turns calmer and calmer. until the last bullet was shot Rei could even see the bullet trajectory!

disbelief were written across everyone faces, these were guns! is it possible for human to dodge the bullet? not to mention there were many of them, yet not even one bullet could even scratch the enemy clothes.

"...mo, monster....*gulp." mumbled one of them.

feeling relaxed while grasping his body capability within short time, Rei smiled. as the pirates saw his smile, in their hearts they knew it was anything but good sign!

"you guys done? my turn!" showing his pearly white teeth, Rei charged toward the group while brandishing his fist.

'Whaam!'

"no!"

'Pow! Bam!'

"HEEEEELP!"

'Wham! Wham! Wham! Bang!'

"mo...monster." Rei released the colar of the last pirate body from his hand and letting it fell down, seeing the unconscious body all around him, Rei felt so weird and yet liberated, the Rei in the pass was just a shut in without any combat ability, but now, he was sure he could do just fine in this world.

「Ding! you have defeated the enemies, you get 17 gacha points, would you like to use it?」

and now there was the system sound, Rei smiled as he command,

"Open gacha..."

Rei's smile didn't last for long as he saw on gacha panel how much points he needed to roll the gacha.

"...10 points per gacha? *sigh..." closing the panel slowly, he saw several people coming out of the yet to burn houses. this time Rei feels they were not bad people so he just stood there.

not to long, the townfolks gathered in front of Rei, there weren't many of them left and most of them were man, he wondered where the woman and children went?

suddenly the townfolks lead by an old man prostrated in front of him!

"this..., hey whats wrong with you people? stand up!" Rei flustered voice could be heard, he tried to help the old man to stand but he firmly refused.

"please! please help us young warrior! please....!" the old man choked by his own tears as he plead to Rei.

feeling helpless Rei could only ask for what happened, he had hunch that it was all related to the town destruction.

and Rei was right, the old man and several others narrate the tragedy happened to their town, turns out it all begun from when the town couldn't afford to pay for marine protection fee 2 days ago, and 'coincidently' it caused the 'Boss Pirates' to attack their peaceful town just a day after the payment negotiation with marine broke out.

feeling suspicious about the marine, Rei ask for more detail, the marine in their region was known with their notorious reputation and greedy for money, they always ordered the towns and islands within their jurisdiction to pay copious amount of money. if they can't pay, the pirates would attack their town in the very next day.

"it seems they're colluding with the pirates..." Rei had a hunch about it.

the 'happy town' was only one of the many victims of the marines wrongdoings, and this time the pirates kidnaped the towns woman and children to be sold, so in desperate situation the townfolks who saw how strong Rei was, decided to beg for his help.

"we beg you! please help us!!!" in between his cries for help, the old man once again press his head on the ground so hard it made his forehead bleed, so did the other townfolks.

Rei sighed, feeling bad about the townfolks ordeal, but he also had some apprehension about it, its true he was now quite strong, nevertheless he didn't want to underestimate his enemy, especialy the unknown enemy he hasn't meet yet.

Rei turned his head towards the townfolks and asked,

"anyone know about this 'Boss Pirates' is? how many of them? and who is their captain?"

suddenly one boy raised some piece of paper on top of his head, as Rei saw the paper, it further his belief about what kind of world was this.

the paper was bounty poster of the Boss Pirate captain, which as it turns out his name was 'Boss', his head worth 3 million bellies, wanted dead or alive with big bold 'MARINE' font on its bottom left corner.

"so, this is realy onepiece world huh?" he thought while taking the poster from the boys hand.
