1 THE TRUTH CAME OUT

Dia stood up in the middle of the night overflowing with confidence and willingness to tell her parents the truth about her passion and desire to take up singing classes, besides she was only able to study art because both her parents were top firms lawyers and as expected they wanted Dia to be one also.

Unfortunately Dia outspokenness wasn't meant to be a lawyer according to her she was born to be a star. Of Course only she knew that as she wasn't brave enough to tell her parents the truth but tonight she was tired of the pretense and of course she panicked at first but cheered herself up by pep talking herself.

"Dia you've been waiting for this since forever you can do this, what the worst that can happen".

Getting to the sitting room Dia's parents (MR &MRS SCOTT) were has always talking about work,Mrs Scott noticed Dia first "what wrong Dia?"Mrs Scott was the definition of having expectation but also a caring and open minded mom.

"nothing mom just wanted to tell you both something."

"what it about?"Mr Scott on the other hand has a way of thinking about how a stable job like lawyering can get you what you want and not jobs like acting or singing.

"Dad, mom, I know you've always wanted me to be a lawyer but I don't think I am mean't to be a lawyer "

"so what do you want to be?" asked Mrs Scott

"well I would love to be a singer I am really..." "huh!" Mr Scott choking on his glass of water "pls don't disagree, you remember you once told me that grandma had always wanted you to be a doctor and only agreed for you to be a lawyer only when you showed her how good and dedicated you are to your work so why don't you..."

"give me a chance" the words were stolen from Dia's mouth.

Mrs Scott took some time to observe how dedicated Dia's will was to persuade her parents while Mr Scott continued the conversation

"singer" his tone was full of sarcasm "no daughter of mine would be seen singing in a pub or bar besides no one in both your mother and I family was a musician at least not one I can think of."

"then I will be the first and it not like mom wasn't also the first one to be a lawyer in her family." a sulking Dia

"well that's your mother's not mine."

At that time Mrs Scott was done observing.

"you know what,I've agreed but only on one condition."
