Chapter 27; Wrath

When they entered the elevator, Ma Roo noticed that Rin hadn't said anything yet. "Hey, Saet Byul, what's with her> She's saying nothing." He whispered to Saet Byul. "It's no use whispering, she can hear us but I also don't know, she has been like that ever since we left the restaurant. Her mood changes so quickly." Saet Byul didn't bother to whisper because she knew Rin could hear a conversation five blocks away. "Hey, keep your voice down." Ma Roo whispered. "No use talking to you." Saet Byul folded her hands and looked at the other side.

When they got out, Saet Byul said farewell to them and went to their apartment. "Rin, what's wrong?" Ma Roo finally asked. "Nothing much, it's just that, I was thinking about something, give me what you promised." Rin changed the topic. "It's not here, let's first enter and put these inside." Ma Roo took the shopping bag from her hand and entered. "Ma Roo, have you eaten?" Rin asked. "What? Are you hungry?" Ma Roo replied with a question. "I'll cook for you today, I watched many cooking shows. I even learnt black bean noodles." She bragged. "Come, let's go. Your things are over there, check them now or later." He said. "I will, later." She crossed her arm in his which he had put in the coat pockets, surprising him but he didn't say anything about it.

"Rin, why are you always cheerful? Even if you get pissed off, it doesn't take even more than five minutes most time." He asked seeing that her mood had changed yet she was all gloomy a moment ago. "You cheer me up and I have to be happy so that everyone is happy." She told him. "Ha, you so weird." He wondered. He always wanted to ask about her family but thought since she didn't talk about it, maybe she doesn't want to bring it up like him. The two talked all the way. It had already gotten dark by the time Ma Roo brought her to a phone store. "Ma Roo, are we going here?" Rin asked seeing that they had stopped in front of the store.

"Yes! Let's enter." He told her with an unforgettable gentle smile. "Wow, what's this place. It's so white." She looked around the store. "Could you please give me two identical Samsung latest phones." Ma Roo told the man who was in charge of selling. "Ok, sir, please wait here." The man said. "Wow, Ma Roo. Are you getting Me one too? You are the best." She felt happier. "Hey, don't you know who I am? I am Kang Ma Roo, the kindest person you've ever seen, Kang Ma Roo." He said looking down at her face. "I'll get you a thousand sea stones when I go back, I mean I'll also repay you handsomely." She corrected herself. The man came back with the phones. After purchasing them, they packed them for them.

"Ma Roo, when we get back home, I can't wait for you to teach me how to use this phone. Thank you" Rin hugged Ma Roo's hand. "Ok, that's enough. We've got to cross the road." Ma Roo didn't know why but he also felt happy to see her this happy. When the traffic lights signalled that it was time for pedestrians, they were only two of them who were going to cross. In the middle of the road, a truck with its light shining so bright that you couldn't see who was driving case aiming at them, but Rin saw it first, "Ma Roo!" She pushed him away and was the one knocked alone instead of both them. The truck driver didn't even stop but kept on moving like he hadn't knocked down a person. Ma Roo ran to where she was but was surprised. She was covered by purple stains. He understood what it was and took off his coat before other people could notice and covered her.

"Call an ambulance!" People said. Ma Roo carried unconscious Rin in his arms. "Rin, you have to wake up. I can't take you to a hospital like this." He said in a small voice next to a whisper with tears rolling down his cheeks. He walked as fast as he could and hailed a taxi. "Please take us at the City View Apartment at XX street." He told the driver. Since it didn't take long even when walking. It didn't take the driver more than 15 minutes. After paying him, Ma Roo hurried over as possible as he could to his apartment. He came hiding Rin so that people didn't see her condition. "Rin, please wake up. you are scaring me." He said while he entered in the passcode. Saet Byul was also getting out of her apartment coming to theirs and came to where Ma Roo was. He entered the passcode, but it was wrong every time because he couldn't even see the numbers. "What's wrong?" Saet Byul was surprised by the scene. "Saet Byul, please help me enter the passcode." She did as he had told her. He hurried inside and entered without even changing the shoes and put Rin in the couch.

"What has Happened to Rin?" Saet Byul wept. She was almost unrecognisable with wound all over her face, her legs and arms dislocate, if it was a human, they'd dead by now. "Saet Byul, I think you knew she wasn't human, so what do we do now?" Ma Roo asked Saet Byul out of options. "I also don't know but she told me she heals fast. May…. Maybe… fill the tub with water and put her there." Saet Byul said while crying. "Ma Roo ran to Rin's room and did what Saet Byul had told him. He came back and put her inside, this time, she didn't become but instead, all her wounds started healing themselves slowly. Her dislocated arms and legs went back in position.

As this was happening, the black stone in Saet Byul's necklace had little red light beeping inside. The water had become all purple. "Why isn't she waking up?" Saet Byul asked. "I also don't know." Ma Roo squat down and waited for what was going to happen next, this was no time to be surprised, right? Finally, her legs transformed into a fin.

"I can't possibly believe my eyes." Ma Suk said with disbelief. Saet Byul's father and Ma Suk were watching everything on a monitor. "I don't think this is a dream, right?" Saet Byul's father said. "No wonder, we barely information about the girl." Ma Suk said but he just couldn't move his eyes away from the monitor. "Whatever she is, I thought those creatures were a myth but we discovered her, I think you know what I mean." Saet Byul's father smirked. "Can you save this video?" Ma Suk said. "No, these kind of cameras were made when there is a chip inside the camera which all the data is stored. We can just watch it but not save it, unless I get the necklace back from Saet Byul." He explained. "Let's wait till, we've got more information and then we can make a move." Ma Suk said.

"Ma Roo, I think we need to wait." Saet Byul said with voice hoarse from crying to Ma Roo whose face was buried in his hands. He didn't want to show Saet Byul that he was worried, so he rubbed all his tears with his shirt. "Saet Byul, let's go and wait from the living room. Rin will be just fine." He gave her his hand. After she took it, they went and sat by her bed waiting. "Saet Byul, what had you come to do?" Ma Roo asked seeing that Saet Byul was so worried. "Uh, I had received a few emails from different agencies, all requesting if Rin could join the, so I had come to tell her about it but then I found her like that." She told him. "Don't worry, she's going to wake up soon. "He patted her back, although he didn't like her father, his sister and Ma Suk, he didn't think hating this child would do him any good.

Just after saying Rin will be just fine, she came out of the bath room, with water dripping from her hair and clothes. Her eyes were fiery red. "Rin!" Saet Byul was so happy that she went to hug her but when she did, Rin just pushed her away and kept on moving. "What's wrong with you? Rin!" Ma Roo grasped her hand surprised by her weird reactions Saet Byul. "Let go of me!" Rin screamed. The weather outside had worsened because of her condition. "Rin, tell me. Calm down and tell me." Ma Roo tried to convince her out of whatever she wanted to do. "I am going to kill them all." She said and pushed him away too. "Ma Roo, I think the water on Rin's clothes was hot it was cold in the tub." Saet Byul remembered. "What? Why?" Ma Roo wondered but his ankle was sprained because Rin had pushed him too hard. Saet Byul to the bath room to see but found the water boiling hot with smoke coming from it. She ran back to where Ma Roo was trying to fix his ankle. "Ma Roo, I think that's why Rin tries as hard as possible to remain calm in every situation but she isn't. She might cause herself trouble." Saet Byul told Ma Roo and went to follow Rin. She went and tried as much as possible to stop her but couldn't succeed. She pulled her coat with all her strength but Rin just opened the door. At the same time, Mi Na and her friends were just coming out of the elevator. They were all feeling tipsy from drinking. "That girl, her eyes…" But before she could come any closer, Ma Roo came in and pulled Rin swiftly when she was off guard to his chest and kissed her.
