Chapter 5 (Gender)

"Okay, that's alright. And are the potatoes ready? " Ash pretended to not know about the secret room.

"Yes, they are ready." -Chef Amara

"Wow, I never thought he would have that much." -Ash

"Mr. Owen thinks about everyone as family. Strangers or not." -Chef Amara

"Hmm, that's nice." Ash smiled a bit.

They head into the kitchen and start skinning the potato skins.

"This is gonna be a long time…"-Ash

"Everything takes time."- Chef Amara

After peeling 70 potatoes… They separate the potatoes into 3 pots and boil them for 13 minutes before  switching to the non boiled ones. After that, you start mashing the potato with a fork until soft. When it's soft add cornstarch and mix. Make any types of shapes you want. Then, get a small pot with oil on low heat, fry for 5 mins before frying on high heat again.

"Alright here it is!" Ash brought 2 plates of mini fried potatoes.

While 3 more were still in the kitchen.

After the 5 plates were on the table, Ash didn't eat any. Ash slept on the couch, face flat. 

"Ash, why aren't you trying this? It's delicious!" -Mei

"Huh?" Ash looked in confusion.

"IT'S DELICIOUS!" -Mei

Ash walked to the table and grabbed one. "You're not lying, it is nice." 

Ash smiled.

Everyone froze for a moment, Ash's smile was beautiful. 

Ash acted like a boy, but his face looked like a girl. Soon everyone was confused. Was Ash a girl or a boy?

"Hey, Ash. It has been so long since you came into this mansion. One question, what's your gender??" -Lucas

"Uhh…"-Ash

"Yea, tell us."-Mei

"Umm…" -Ash

"NOPE! PLEASE DON'T ASK THAT QUESTION AGAIN." -Ash had a panic attack.

Soon, 3 days had passed and Owen came home with some sunburns on his face.

The first thing he did was hug Ash.

"Oh! Hey long time no see." Ash was confused but patted Owen's back.

"I'm glad that you're still in 1 piece." -Owen

Ash was confused while Owen glared at Lucas.

"Ayy, i didn't do anything this time boss. Only the kids' gender confused us." -Lucas

Owen looked back at Ash. 

Ash shrugs back. 

"We'll talk later, kid. And Lucas, please don't do anything." -Owen

'I'm pissed. So long since I killed someone, maybe tonight will be fun.' Ash thought.

Later, in Ash's room…

"Are you busy?" 

Ash was watching their phone while lying on bed, to look up and see Owen over Ash's head. 

Ash freaked out and sat up, while accidentally hitting both of their heads.

"Oh, I'm so sorry if I spooked you!" -Owen

"It's fine." Said Ash, "What are you doing here?" 

"You forgot? I told you we were gonna talk, remember? "  said Owen

"Oh, yea! Yes, I did forget." Said Ash

"Oh, it's alright. I forget things too" said Owen 

"I have a few questions to ask. " said Owen "1, did anything happen?  Like Lucas did anything to you? "

"Does annoying me count?"- Ash

"Haha, I guess that's fair. He annoys me too, so we share the same expression towards Lucas don't we?" -Owen 

" I guess so, lol" said Ash. 

They stared at each other for a while. When Ash opened their and started speaking again.

"What's behind those doors in the garden?" 

Said Ash with a confused look.
