Yan Qiuyun led Wang Jingyuan down the corridor that ran parallel to the courtyard. "I had the servants prepare lots of snacks," she said to Wang Jingyuan. "I think you will really enjoy them."

"Thank you, Your–" Wang Jingyuan caught herself. "I mean, thank you, Qiuyun jie-jie." 

As the two girls turned the corner, they came face-to-face with a young man who was walking this way. Wang Jingyuan's eyes widened as she recognized him to be Yan Qiufeng. What was he doing here? Yikes, she was not prepared to face him!

"A-Feng." Yan Qiuyun did not seem as surprised. "What are you doing in my manor again, instead of staying in the Yan Manor?"

"I was bored, so I came to bother you," Yan Qiufeng said with a straight face. His gaze landed on Wang Jingyuan, who was trying to inconspicuously hide behind Yan Qiuyun. They made eye-contact.

Wang Jingyuan dropped into a bow. "General Yan."

Yan Qiufeng nodded in acknowledgement. "Miss Wang."
