1 BOOK ONE ONE SUMMER (Chapter One - Part 1)

I don't know how to start this story as I am starting to like what I am doing now. But some info might help you survive somehow. If all else fails just give me a call.

It all started one summer back in the year I can't remember anymore. My friends and I decided to spend our vacation somewhere unusual. A common friend (let's name him Engki) suggested we go to a place he knows where only few people would dare to go. Well I said "I'm in for that adventure", most of us agreed to go there but my girlfriend was not up to it. Well we're both into the paranormal as both of possesses third-eyes. And so does our friends. Although we hold various abilities. Some are clairvoyant, some are clairaudience, some shave ESP, empath and such, and nonetheless, I told her that we will be okay. Wish I didn't have said that. After a lot of discussion I finally convinced her to join us. So we decided to leave on the weekend.

Saturday came and we are all packed and ready to go. There were fourteen of us. We rode a bus then a jeep then a tricycle and walk for about 3 kilometres more from where we dropped off. Finally we reached our destination. It was so beautiful. The luscious greenery. The tall trees and the fresh water running from the stream was amazing. We hike a few more so we can reach a spot that surpasses all. While trekking we came across an old man who look like that of a hermit. He looked so hungry so I decided to give some sandwich. The man was so thankful. But to my surprise he grabbed my arm and whispered words of warning "Be careful young one, one of you is not like you." Then he gave me small like amulets, 13 pieces in total. I told him that there's 14 of us but he repeated "one of you is not like you." I asked him "how will I know who is who?" He told me you will when you use your gift. We'll it doesn't harm if I take extra precautions so I kept the other amulets and wore one of them. I gave my girlfriend hers and told her that it's a gift. After almost an hour of walking, Engki said that we reach the spot. It was awesome. Cool and clear water to swim. A spot where we can have our tent and make fire trees for shed should the sun gets too hot. Once we have put down all our belongings this is where the creepiness starts. Jon the eldest of us started to feel someone or something is watching us, me and my girlfriend also felt nauseous for some reason we don't know. But we just ignored all of those. Aldrin and Jho who we called the selfie Lords are having a hard time with their phones reception they can't find any signal and so we checked ours, also the same. Engki said "This place is a DEAD SPOT", then he laugh so hard that sounded maniacal, somehow devilish. Karl and Jon prepared to make fire while Chel and Julius prepared the tent but like we normally do we offer prayers first so not to disturb nature guardians. Oh I forgot let me just introduce to you everyone. There's my girlfriend Pam her girl best friends Mheanne, Ian and Rita and her cousins Kit and Sheena so those were the girls. Then there's me, my boy buddies Jho and Aldrin, their cousins Karl and Chel, Ian's boyfriend Jon and Ian's twin brother Julius and of course the new comer Engki. We'll its quite a long story how all of us met but we bonded anyway and that was like 3 years ago and now we're all college students from different universities and colleges. What fascinates me is how in the world we met Engki. The only thing I can remember is that he approached me and Jho while we were at school and seems to have the same interest as us. And that was a year ago. Anyway moving on, after everything is set we noticed that the sun is high already since food is ready we decided to have our brunch. Sheena being the timekeeper of the group checked her watch and it's already 12 noon. Well not brunch anymore it's lunch time. After eating the girls decided to have a swim while us the guys took out a bottle of brandy and decided to have some drink we didn't notice how fast time flies and like I said Sheena once again checked her watch and to her surprised it stopped at 12 noon. Well not all of us has a watch as we rely on our cellular phones but all of the clock stopped at 12 noon. The girl started too panicked but Karl being the born pacifist was able to calm them down. Chel said that it's almost night considering the amount of light that we are seeing. Jho said we can go camping since we have our tents but Kit said that she's been hearing strange voices. Well we took her word for it as she is born to be clairaudience. So we packed our things and decided to leave. We back track our footsteps but we seems to be going in circles. However our clever Aldrin did some markings by tying ribbons to the bushes we decided to follow them but we were shocked to realize that after following few ribbons we went back to the same spot that we were before. And so again the girls started panicking. Jon being the eldest decided to take the lead and follow a different route not known to any of us. That's where I noticed that Engki is no longer with us which made Ian hysterical but Jon and Julius managed to calm her down. I decided to follow Jon then if Engki went missing we'll report it to the officials in the morning. So we started walking again till we come across a deserted campsite. It's a horrible view, there were pieces of shattered clothes all over, flesh and bones scattered and we don't if it's human or animal flesh. The stinking smell tells us that the flesh could be from days ago or weeks or months. Then we found ourselves in front of an abandoned cabin. Outside the cabin we saw claw marks and scratches but we decided to get it as it will be our only mean of shelter and possible survival.
