Training my new ability and a serious talk

Opening my system I excitedly used my ability draw and waited for the result, as it slowed down I was able to notice the slit it was landing on was faintly shimmering.

I was shocked that this was possible I assumed that I would only be able to draw Minor abilities but if something like this is possible then who knows? closing my system we bid everyone farewell and returned to our ship where I grabbed a glass and filled it with water before letting a leaf float on it, Momo watched on with interest at what I was doing as I cupped the glass and focused on the new feeling coming from my core.

as I focused on sending my nen between my hands, I observed the glass for any changes. Slowly, the leaf started to move around the glass, clearly unaffected by the wind, indicating that I am a manipulator. Manipulators as the name implies are able to use their nen to manipulate things around them, this is usually achieved by using a system of transmitters and receivers that allows the user to puppeteer people's bodies.

I was not too thrilled at the idea of using people like puppets but just because it's the norm does not mean that I have to follow it. As Momo noticed I finished thinking she asked me what I was doing, I told her that my system has given me access to a power called nen and that this glass was a way to find out my nen type, I went on to explain that nen is a complex power system that allows its users to not only strengthen their bodies but manifest objects and abilities that grow stronger the more focused and or restrictive in use you make them.

Momo seemed satisfied with this explanation as she prepared the boat for us to head to Orange town in the Organ Islands. Now that I knew my nen type it was time to train in the basics of nen. Ten, Zetsu, Ren, and Hatsu. Ten is the first step and it involves meditating and controlling the small amount of natural nen leakage to surround my body in a kind of invisible shroud, this was easy for me to achieve, presumably due to the way I awakened my nen.

Zetsu is taking this control a step further and completely shutting off my body's ability to emit nen. This achieves a state that reduces your presence and assists with stealth while disallowing any other use of nen. By the time I had reached this state, we were well out of sight of the island and Momo was practising against a training dummy that would randomly move around.

Ren focuses on exploding your nen outwards allowing for increased strength at the cost of your nen depleting, this is also the state required to display more advanced nen abilities, this was much easier than learning Zetsu as I just had to reverse my efforts from training it. The feeling of increased strength was amazing, but I quickly stopped before my nen ran out, which could lead to death.

Finally, Hatsu is the process of shaping your nen into a specific ability. I would need to train the first three in a cycle for a bit to build up my control and nen reserves before I would be able to complete this step.

With my mastery of the basics underway, I decided to take a break and spend some time with Momo, this was our first period of alone time since we were attacked by Alvida. Momo noticed that I was finished meditating and joined me on the deck with a lovely pair of sunbathing chairs as we chatted about my new ability and the possibility of me awakening the same ability in her once my mastery was good enough. Momo was impressed with how easily we resolved the issues on Yotsuba Island but was concerned about my impersonation of a high-ranking marine and how that could be the cause of a bounty being placed on my head.

I assured her that even if I do get a bounty now that it's not really a big deal since a bounty is inevitable if we are to continue down the path my system is leading us as we will have to face the full force of the world government on multiple occasions, part of my want to gain abilities and increase my strength is that Luffy's path is not an easy one to follow, not only did he train his body and devil fruit since he was a child he was also naturally gifted in combat skill and adaptability not to mention his bloodline consisting of his father and grandfather being two of the strongest people in the world.

As we were enjoying the sunset I decided to bring up the topic that I had been ignoring. "Hey Momo, I want to tell you the truth before our relationship progresses too far. The first ability my system gave me is a charm ability, it passively makes those I find attractive more attracted to me and as such your feelings for me may not be genuine." at this Momo slowly retracts herself slightly away from me before asking for the exact wording of the ability, after directly repeating the abilities description to her she seemed to think for a bit before speaking to me "Jennifer while your ability may have influenced my feelings, nowhere does it say that it forces or creates feelings, my love for you is something genuine and it always will be" at this, I begin to cry and fall into a caring hug from Momo who seems more than happy to help me calm down.

After I had recollected myself I continued the conversation "Now the main reason I bring this up is that the island we are headed to contains a girl called Nami, she is an expert navigator and an essential part of our crew, and I also have a bit of a crush on her, she is an amazing woman who has sacrificed the better part of her life to try and save her hometown from a tyrannical pirate overlord called Arlong. I believe that my ability will affect her and want your opinion on this kind of situation, as I cannot turn this ability off I know that over the course of our journey, It will affect more women we come across and I want to know your opinion now."

Momo took a minute to contemplate before replying "I know it was hard for you to speak to me about this, I guess your original world was similar to mine in that monogamy was the norm. and although this world seems slightly archaic I have not observed any polyamorous relationships as of yet. Personally, I believe that as long as you keep loving me just as much as now I will be fine with any development" At this I lept into Momo's arms with joy and started passionately making out with her before we headed to bed for the night.
