10 Chapter 9 - The Devil Fruit
It was night time. Most of the people on the ship were fast asleep at this point and finally Raiden was at peace.
He decided to open the box his grandpa gave him.
It was a small wooden box. Raiden opened the it. There was a blue coloured jackfruit with weird sharp symbols all all over it.
For a second Raiden thought he was seeing things. But that lasted for a moment before his eyes widened.
"A Devil Fruit!?" Raiden whisper shouted.
He was beyond shocked. He had no idea his grandpa had a devil fruit.
Raiden quelled his excitement and began thinking. He didn't know what kind of fruit this was. He didn't remember any canon fruit that looked like this.
Raiden hesitated a bit. He didn't want to loose the ability to swim for lame powers like the jacket jacket fruit.
After much contemplation, Raiden decided to eat it. He took a big bite and almost threw up. The best he could describe the taste, was that it tasted like the aftertaste of vomit and cough syrup mixed with rotten tuna.
'How the fuck was Luffy eating this like it's just another food. *Bleah*'
He started thinking of all the good food grandma Mary made to stop himself from throwing up.

He started going through his stats and was bewildered to see his stats almost double.
'That's...a lot to digest.'
He looked at the Devil Fruit tab. "A mythical Zoan. Where the fuck did that old man even find this fruit."
He learned a lot of new skills too, luckily all of them were passives. He looked at his physical stats again and still couldn't believe that they were his.
There was barely anyone as strong as him in East Blue at this point .
"It's getting late now. I should sleep."
Today was a wild day and frankly Raiden was exhausted. It'll take a week for him to reach Shimotsuki Village. He decided to take a break and enjoy the scenery for these 7 days.

7 days went by rather quickly. The merchant ship he was travelling on was attacked 4 times by pirate ships.
The gaurds were absolutely useless. Raiden was sure they lied on there resume. Anyway, it was good for Raiden, who another level during the trip.
Most of the civilians were greatful to Raiden but kept a distance from him. Having seen someone this strong for the first time, they didn't want to offend him. Raiden was more than happy with this arrangement.
Most of these group were way to weak for him at this point. The 4 captains were all captured and the ship owner gave Raiden a sum of 10 million belli. In return he wanted to collect bounties of the 4 pirates captains.
Raiden was more than happy with the trade.

On the seventh day Raiden was dropped at the Shimotsuki Village.
This place was even more stunning than Black Rock village.
"Feels good to back on solid ground."
"Now then, let's go see where the dojo is."
"Oi! Mister! Why are you looking for the dojo?" A childish voice called him out.
Raiden turned towards the the voice and was surprised to see the little kid.
But that suprise look turned into a grin as he realised who the kid was.
He decided to keep playing the ignorant stranger role.
"Who are you brat?"
"Huh!? Who are you calling brat you albino fucker."
"The fuck did you call me you mosshead!?"
"MOSSHEAD!? You asshole I'm not mosshead, I'm Roronoa Zoro!!"
Chibi Zoro pulled out his three swords and pointed them at Raiden.
"You shouldn't have disrespected the future greatest swordsman you asshole! Get ready to face my sw..."
Raiden was getting annoyed hearing his childish rant, he moved quickly and chopped the green haired kid's neck. Zoro immediately lost consciousness.
Raiden picked him up and tossed him over his shoulder.
"Let's ask someone for directions first. I doubt this idiot could've guided me there."
