449 Chapter 449 | Brook

449 | Brook

"Luffy, this is a bad idea," Vivi warned, Nami nodding behind her.

"Relax," Luffy waved them off. "Worst case scenario, we beat up the skeleton and sail away. I mean have some confidence in yourselves."

"I am not going up there!" Usopp shouted, making Luffy roll his eyes. Bepo and Chopper nodded behind him.

"I'll join you, Captain," Gin offered.

"I'll go, too," Kuina said, surprising the others. Usually, she didn't like to participate in this kind of stuff, as she would much rather read books instead, "I might be able to find something interesting there…"

"Anyone else?" Luffy asked. The rest of the crew shook their heads, not particularly inclined to jump in. Zoro would have come, but as Kuina and Gin were going he would much rather stay back on the ship, in case something happens.

Luffy and his tag-alongs headed to the larger ship and began climbing. Luffy was the first one over the railing, finally getting a good look at Brook.

He stood at eight feet and was dressed in ragged and torn clothing that used to be a nice suit. The jacket was left open, showing that the being had no undershirt to hide its spine and the top of its pelvis. A purple cane rested next to it. The skeleton was sitting, calmly sipping tea as it watched the trio scurry over the railing.

Luffy hummed rubbing his chin, while Brook calmly drank tea. There was no conversation between them as both just stared at each other.

"This is usually the part where you get scared, and try to kill me?" Brook spoke after a while.

"Nah, I'll pass on that," Luffy said nonchalantly, "But you do look cool by the way… shishishi…" Though, Luffy couldn't point his finger, there was just something wrong about him.

Brook blinked, (honestly, it was weird how a skeleton could even blink) "Oh, thank you."

By this time both Gin and Kuina had came, both had confused looks on their face.

"Ugh… is that a skeleton with an afro?" Gin asked looking towards Kuina.

"Apparently, yes…" she said, "There seems to be something wrong with him, however…"

"Excuse me, lady," Brook said, "I'm perfectly fine, I will tell you that… but by the way, can I see your panties?"

Kuina gave him a blank look that sent shivers down his spine.

"Yohohoho… maybe no," he said quickly, while Kuina gave a slow nod.

"There's definitely something wrong with him," Gin nodded to himself.

"Anyway, what do you?" Luffy asked.

"I'm a musician, a knight or a swordsman whatever you like to call me… oh, and also a pirate. Yohohoho…" He added.

"Shishishi," Luffy laughed. "You're funny! Join my crew!"

Gin and Kuina just sighed. But then again, what else could they expect from their captain.

"Sure," the creature answered, ignoring their reaction. With a grin splitting his face, Luffy ordered everyone back to the Sunny for dinner.

.

"What is that?!" most of the crew screamed as the talking, singing skeleton landed on the deck, a bag slung over its shoulder.

"He's our newest crewmate!" Luffy responded, as if that explained everything.

"What? Happened?!" Sanji jumped Gin. "I thought you went to keep him from doing anything stupid!" Gin just hung his head in shame, Kuina sighing beside him.

"What a beautiful ship!" the skeleton marveled. "Is this deck real grass?"

"Sure is!" Franky boasted. "This is the Thousand Sunny, the super-best ship I've ever built."

"Marvelous! And what marvelous pirate beauties!" He shuffled over to Vivi, Nami, and Robin. "If it isn't an inconvenience, would you three be so kind as to show me your panties?" The question was met with yelling and blows from the ladies, throwing the skeleton into the railing of the ship.

"Yohohoho! I felt that one in my bones!"

"What are you?" Usopp asked now more confused than scared.

"Oh, I haven't introduced myself, have I?" the skeleton blinked (or would have if he had eyelids?). "My name is Brook. It's a pleasure to meet you. And might I ask what you are, brave young man?"

Hearing that Usopp blushed rubbing the back of his head, "Oh… I'm just the sniper of the crew that's all. And it's good to know someone is apprenticing my talents."

"Yes, of course…" Sparky said with a deadpan.

"Wait, is that a six-armed talking monkey?" Brook asked, "Weird?"

"You aren't in a place to judge!" Sanji said.

"Oh, then I'm sorry…"

"Nah… it doesn't bother me," Sparky said.

"Oh thank you…" Brook nodded and, he then looked at Sparky, Hatchan, Chopper, Bepo, and lastly White Fury, "How interesting… You people seem like quite the group. I'd love to learn more about you over dinner."

"Do you cook?" Coby asked.

"Oh no," Brook shook his head. "I thought you all would."

"Don't just invite yourself!" Sanji said, with a sigh, "You are quite the quirky one, aren't you?"

"Oh, pardon me. If I was…"

"Nah…" Luffy waved him off. "Sanji! Food!"

"Yeah, yeah," the cook waved off. "Fine, we'll invite the thing. Come on."
