438 Chapter 438 | Warlords

438

The next day, when Luffy woke up, he found himself alone in his bed. For a second he panicked when he didn't find Vivi with his observation haki.

But then he remembered about her powers, 'She must have left before anyone got suspicious.' Luffy thought, 'Teleportation is kind of broken…' The pirate chuckled to himself.

He sat up from the bed, stretching out his arms, there were a few bite and claw marks. All from the princess who loved to play it rough. Last night was amazing. A small grin spread across his face. "Heh, time to get out…"

The pirate looked around. Now, all he needed to do was, get out of here, without getting noticed by anyone. The moment Luffy came here, he could sense people watching him. World government agents that were on him.

This was also the reason why he didn't meet Vivi inside her room or his own room. There was a good chance of people finding out. The technology was wacky in this world. So their room might or might not be bugged.

It might be his paranoia speaking, but the world government were shitty as they come. So he didn't want to take any chances.

Right as Luffy was about to leave, he felt a familiar presence. Why didn't he notice that before, also he felt a bit amused at who it was?

"White Fury is that you?" Luffy asked looking in a certain wall that was fully painted white. From there two small mischievous eyes opened and the snake jumped on him, happily.

Luffy laughed, petting the winged white snake. "Wait? Were you here at night as well?"

The snake looked at him, and shook his head, hissing out some words that Luffy was able to understand. Basically, it seemed that White Furry was very good at hiding and she came along with Vivi.

Luffy was actually impressed that the snake managed to hide for so long. But then again, it made sense. His hiding ability was kind of like Sparky's.

Sparky was powerful, no doubt there, but with observation haki, his presence was always seen as an animal. And if he could keep him, intentions in check, he could fool good observation users.

Kind of like how predators hid from their prey until the last moment. This was also the reason why, the snake was able to hide for so long.

"Good girl," Luffy said, scratching the back of her head as the snake happily hissed, "Thanks for protecting Vivi. And we missed you."

After a bit of time, Luffy could be seen walking the halls of Marineford. Of course that was after dropping White Fury near Vivi's room. The snake was able to sneak in easily from there.

The snake wasn't just lazing around in Alabasta it seemed. It was actually being productive. Good for her.

As Luffy walked the hall of Marineford, some marines gave him a respectful nod here and there, while others ignored him. It didn't bother him either way, there would always be haters.

As this was still early in the morning, Luffy decided to go to where he would find Zoro. Marineford was a lot bigger than what the anime or manga let on. There were a few empty training grounds where the crew could do some light training.

Well, considering Zoro, any work wasn't light.

A few hours later,

An air of tense excitement charged the air in the port of Marineford as columns of rigid marines stood arrayed along the pier. As members of a delicate alliance, it was imperative that they warmly welcome the arriving Warlords despite any past grievances.

But then again, some of the marines deemed the warlords as a necessary evil. One of them was even considered as a hero.

The soldiers waited in polished formation, waiting for their arrival.

A few had already arrived, just an hour ago, Donquixote Doflamingo came along with a few members of his crew. And things got pretty rough, marine soldiers breaking formation, attacking each other, uncontrollably. All of them were confused at first, before realizing that the pirate was using his powers to create trouble.

Luckily, Vice Admiral Sinbad was there, and he didn't take kindly to the warlord doing whatever he wants. Things got a bit heated, before another Warlord Kuma and Kizaru stepped in before things could turn ugly.

The Marines hoped at least with this warlords things would be a bit different.

The sun shone brightly as a stately vessel appeared on the horizon, the distinctive mark of the sun pirates, emblazoned on its fluttering sails. On the front, one could see the giant figure of Zinbe.

Almost reaching ten feet in hight, Jinbe's physique reflected a lifetime of oceanic battles, his aqua skin latticed with old scars. His face was rugged, almost shark-like with piercing dark eyes that seemed to take the full measure of all before him. He wore a simple traditional kimono, dark blue in color with patterns of the sun printed on it.

The ship glided smoothly through the bay towards the assembled reception, finally easing against the pier. Then the hulking figure of Jinbei jumped down, making quite the entrance.

The Fishman snorted when some of the marines almost fell due to his sudden landing. But he didn't mind them. He had other things to worry about. Like the young man with the straw hat that was grinning at him.

The marines around the port blinked, their eyes comically popping out of their skull. It was certainly not good, having two Warlords like this. Some of them gulped, already trying to get out in case of a confrontation breaking out.

"Shishishi… you are big for a Fishman," Luffy said, "Hatchi said you were strong… Are you though?"

Jinbe narrowed his eyes, before barking out a laugh, "He wasn't kidding when he said, you were headstrong, Bawahahaha…" the fishman said. His smile baring fangs, "But I assure you, I'm strong…"

"Bawahahha…"

"Shishishi…"

The marines looked at each other confused.

"What just happened?"

"I don't know…"

"Maybe, they won't fight…"

Right then and explosive shockwave was heard.

Both pirates fist clashed against each other, haki cladding their blows. Blue and purple lightning crackled out between their firsts, as both pirates tried to push each other back. Each having a smile on their face.

"For a kid you are quite strong," Jinbe said, with a grin on his face, "No wonder considering your brother."

"I can say the same for you big guy. Hatchan praised a lot about you…" Luffy said, "I can kind of see us getting along. What do you say? Wanna join my crew?"

Jinbe outright laughed as both of them eased up, "You have a good sense of humor."

"Shishishi… you don't even have a clue." Luffy said, "By the way, I want to speak to about something… and it's kind of Lunchtime. So why don't you join us. The meeting won't start until evening, so we have some time."

"Sure, why not."

The marines that were there sighed in relief that nothing major happened. At least this one went well.

Time passed and soon another pirate vessel came to Marineford. But unlike previous times, the Marines were actually eager to receive the new warlord.

The marines craned their necks eagerly as the graceful pirate sloop eased against the pier. There were audible intakes of breath as Hancock emerged atop the rail, lovely and lethal in equal measure.

Almost every man around the area had heart-shaped eyes as they gazed upon the world's most beautiful woman.

"I… she's… my heart can't handle this!"

"I can die now!"

"She's beautiful!"

Some common cheers among the marines broke out seeing the pirate empress for the first time.

Getting down from the ship of Kuja pirates, Boa Hancock ignored the fools who looked her way. With serpentine grace, she descended to the pier, paying the gaping marines no mind. Her every fluid movement echoed confidence and thinly veiled condescension toward the gawkers in her presence.

Trailing behind her were Hancock's trusted sisters, Marigold and Sandersonia. The three Kuja commanders stalked through the thoroughfare opened by the marines, beauty, and danger blending in harmonious unison. There was no distrust or hostility here - only yearning glances stealing what they dare not hope to claim.

Due to having Jinbe, Luffy wasn't there to see or receive the pirate princess. He was much more eager to gain the fishman's friendship and trust than to seek out the world-class beauty.

But then again, Luffy might have acted like everyone if he hadn't spent an amazing night with Vivi before. So he was thinking a bit more logically there.

But Sanji on the other hand, was present looking at the beauty. But rather than how he expected, he found himself shocked.

"She… she looks like Robin," The cook mumbled to himself with a deep shock on his face.

"Who?"

The chef blinked and frowned at the marine, that was by his side. Even though it slipped him, Robin was a common name. Vice Admiral Tokikake, who also joined him in seeing the world-class beauty. They might have started out a bit rough, but Sanji kind of could tolerate the guy.

"You in love or somethin?" the marine asked, with a displeased frown, "I mean I'm… with Gion, but even I have to say… the pirate empress is on another league…"

Sanji didn't care of the later part, but the first part resonated with him. He expected to fall head over heels for Boa Hancock, like everyone else. But here he was, finding more Robin more attractive than her.

Was he in love?
