437 | Lovers

Pell stood watch before the door that lead to the room of Princess Vivi. The proud royal guard and falcon zoan wielder kept one clawed hand resting lightly on the pommel of his sheathed scimitar, prepared to defend his charge while she rested within.

It was a bit of overkill, or that's what the princess would say, but he thought otherwise. Pell would permit no harm to come to the princess under his protection. As one of the preeminent Warlords gathered here for their regular assembly, her safety was of the utmost importance, so he dutifully kept guard to turn back any with malign intentions. 

Opposite to him, Chaka was barely able to keep himself from sleeping. While Pell was guarding Vivi's room, Chaka was doing the same for the King's room. But unlike him, his friend was a bit more lax.

The hallway remained empty before the sounds of footsteps could be heard. Pell frowned, but quickly eased up when he noticed who it was. 

"The princess did say, you might drop for a visit," he said, eyeing the so called 'White Lady'. His voice having a good amount of respect in it. Even though Luffy was considered the hero of Alabasta, the person before him was the one to subdue Crocodile.

"Yes," Kuina said, "I wanted to come early, but Sanji…"

Speaking of, the chef quickly came in running, pushing a food trolley filled with dishes. Pell blinked and held back his laugh, when Chaka was suddenly awoken, prompting a heated argument between the two.

Kuina sweat dropped at the scene before shanking his head. Hearing the commotion, Vivi opened her room. The princess didn't need an explanation, she just chuckled. 

"Well, thank you for the food, Sanji," Vivi said, making the chef noodle about, with love eyes. 

Kuina shook her head helplessly, wondering if Sanji really was putting on an act or not. 

Thinking nothing of it, the swordswoman grabbed the food trolley, pushing it inside Vivi's room and shooing out Sanji.

Vivi chuckled at the scene, as Kuina shook her head, taking a seat on the nearby sofa. She didn't even look up as she opened one of her book reading away. 

"You can get going…" Kuina said, looking up from her book. "The captain is eagerly waiting for you…" 

"Umm… but can you help me choose a dress?" The princess asked, making the female swordsman sigh.

"Sure… I might as well."

"Yay!" the princess cheered, before taking a few dresses that were laid on the bed, asking questions away.

Outside as Vivi and Kuina closed the door on him, Sanji felt dejected. Chaka snorted at his misery, while Pell just shook his head.

But that wasn't the main thing the chef was doing. Suddenly he blurred away from his position, appearing a bit farther near a dark corner, his leg pinning down something or someone in the nearby wall. 

The kick was right at the throat, making the black-suited agent knocked unconscious. A CP agent, Sanji growled. 

He really wasn't a fan of their kind. 

There were two other, but they quickly scrambled away before Sanji could pin them down. But it didn't matter, his main goal here was kind of done. At least with Kuina being inside Vivi's room, none of the agents will dare to enter the room. 

Both Pell and Chaka were disturbed by the fact that this kind of thing happened under their nose. They wanted answers, but Sanji said it was better he took care of it.

And with that he grabbed the unconscious agent, dragging him where he could get some answers. Luffy had a hunch that some people might be keeping an eye on the princess. But as to why, he didn't know. 

Maybe it was for their safety or something else.

Inside Vivi's room,

"This one does look good… but what if he doesn't like it?" The Princess asked. The azure gown draped gracefully over Vivi's slender frame, bringing out the dazzling azure hue of her eyes. 

She smiled vibrantly as she finished adjusting the bodice, smoothing the flowing skirt trimmed in intricate lacework. The elegant dress showcased the princess's natural beauty - porcelain skin contrasted by cascading powder blue locks, and delicate yet noble features refined by her royal Alabastan bloodline. 

"I'm more sure, he will love unwrapping you, more than judging your dress," Kuina rolled her eyes, making the girl blush. "Just go on… I'm sure he's been waiting all day for you…" 

Vivi nodded, standing a bit straighter, breathing in and out, calming herself down. She was still a bit unused to her new fruit powers, but…

The princess shut her eyes and clapped her hands. She felt the surroundings around her shift and when she opened her eyes, she was not in her room anymore. 

Well, it was technically her room. She was on the royal ship, that they brought for the journey, unlike small ships, like the Going Merry. It was big enough to have multiple royal rooms, including hers. 

They could have met elsewhere, but everywhere they would need to look out for anyone noticing. But not here. 

"My queen…" A voice said, walking up to her and wrapping her in a tight hug. 

Vivi returned it, her eyes already getting wet. "I… missed you…" 

Luffy separated from the hug, looking at his wife with love, "So, did I princess…" he said leaning in for the kiss. 

The princess returned the kiss and deepened it. After a bit of back and forth, both separated, their lips connected by a small strand of saliva. 

Both of them panted, but rather than going in for another kiss, Luffy leaned back and appreciated her beauty, "You look beautiful…" 

Vivi could feel her cheeks heat up, at least he appreciated all of her work. But… 

Vivi frowned looking up to Luffy, "Can you not be that tall… its kind of hard to reach your face."

Luffy blinked before rubbing the back of his head, "Shishishi… oh sorry, I just got used to that…" With that Luffy's body started to shift, returning to his six foot height.

Vivi let him know that she appreciated it with another kiss. 

"I missed you…"

"I missed you too…"

The night was spent talking about various mundane things with occasional teasing. Even though both wanted to be intimate with each other, both of them missed each other quite much. 

Sometimes they were just happy with each other. But after that, they did go all the way. Both lovers spent the night sleeplessly, caring and loving each other.
