Chapter 6: More training And Bang Past

The next morning, as the sun rose into clear, cloudy skies, the sea was as clear as the sky, and the sun shone on the island somewhere on top of the mountain. There was fog, but it cleared quickly with a strong wind, and we could see Bang's house. As we got closer and looked inside the hallway, we heard a loud sorting in one of the rooms. We entered the room and saw Valerie Sparrow all over the floor, tired from yesterday.

Bang, who is nearby with a rolled-up piece of paper in his hand, interrupts the sleeping moment by opening the door and saying, "WAKE UP, YOU BRAT!" He hovered over her as he smacked her on top of her head with the rolled-up paper. As Valerie woke up with her eyes popped out like cartoons, she clutched her head in pain and then turned to Bang, who was standing by the door, and said, "HEY, WHAT THE HELL, OLD MAN, I WAS SLEEPING" she said as she rubbed her pain and felt tears coming out of the corner of her eye.

"Well, did I say I was going to train you? meaning you will be waking up like this, so get up now!" He orders as Valerie grinds her teeth while grunting loudly like a dog. "Fine," she says as she gets up. "Stupid old man won't let me sleep," she muttered under her breath as she made her way to where Bang was. "Ok, I'm ready." She looks up at him with determination in her eyes as Bang smiles at her and says, "Well, then, let's begin, shall we?" as they walk out to training.

Later, we see Bang and Valerie walking in a hallway with Valerie, who has a gloomy aura around her, muttering, "Why can't we eat first and then train?" As she walks on, he says, "Well, for one thing, if you haven't eaten, you might have spilled your breakfast all over the floor and won't be able to eat for a week." He puts his hand behind his back. "This training sounds intense," she says, then is interrupted by a loud stomach growl as Bang looks behind him over his shoulder and sees Valerie clutching her stomach in pain. "But don't worry since, every day when training ends, you are required to eat as much food as you can to build up your strength and muscles, so think of this as sort of a reward," he says, as he sees Valerie's gloomy aura disappear and instantly turn into a happy aura around her. "Hell yeah!" she says happily as she jumps.

——————————————-——————————————-——————————————-—————————————

"Anyway, I've been meaning to ask you something for a while." Bang chuckles as Valerie quickly looks at him and asks, "Hm, sure, what is it?" She said, "Well, it's about your haki; how do you know it at your age?" He asked curiously as Valerie placed her hand on her chin. "Well, I'm not sure; it just feels instinctive to me, like I've used it before or something," she says, her eyes closed. "Hmm, I'm even more surprised that you have conqueror haki; I've seen a lot of them even in the past." He said as Valerie looked at him, "Really, I guess I'm just that special," she said with a smug tone, "but do you know the three types of haki?" he said. They continued into a room. "No, but I believe what one does is detect the presence of a living thing, and the other does cover my fist or part of my body in black like amor, letting me hit things hard."

"Why yes, you are correct. Allow me to describe the three types of haki. The first is known as observation haki and grants the user a sixth sense that allows them to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of others; the second is known as armament haki and allows the user to use their own spiritual energy to create, in essence, an invisible armor around themselves, providing incredible offensive and defensive capabilities; and finally, the Conqueror's haki which is the rarest form of Haki that allows the user to exert their own willpower over others; this type of haki cannot be attained through training, and only one in several million people are born with this ability. It is said that whoever possesses this type of haki has the qualities of a king and is known as the Supreme Ruler." He explains they arrived in a large, dark room, but they can see a little of the sun's light as it shines in the room, and Valerie is looking around with awe and saying, "Huh, ok, so are we working on my haki?" She asked curiously.

"No, but I want to put your fighting skills to the test first. I've seen you fight like a brawler since I ordered all of the animals to attack you, but of course it stopped when Barlett was defeated," he said as Valerie tilted her head in confusion. "Uhh, who?" he sighed, explaining that "it's the bear at the end anyway. You use everything around you as a weapon, including your own body." He explains as he claps his hands together, and it echoes in the room. Suddenly, the room is lit up in flames, so there is light in the room. "Right now, I want to build up your body while we master your haki; later, when the time comes, I will teach you a technique I once mastered and invented," he says as he looks beside him and says, "Let's begin." as Valerie looks up at him as she grins.

Later, we see Valerie standing in the middle of the room as there are a bunch of wooden posts taking the shape of crocodile warriors, each part of whose body is covered in spikes, and Bang is standing on top of the podium looking down on her. "This will be your first training, and I'll explain what will happen. Each of these mannequin sections will move independently, requiring quick reflexes to avoid or counteract, but this won't be easy because these will hit you back," he says. "Ok, all I have to do is block and dodge," she says as she stretches her body and hears a loud pop within her bones. "Yes, but you'll have to do it while blindfolded, so trust your instincts on this; this will also sharpen your observation haki quite swiftly and better."

"All right," Valerie says, cracking her fingers and pulling the blindfold over her eyes. as she takes a stand with her arms in front of her and forms a fist, almost visualizing and making out what's in front of her, then throws a punch, hitting wooden post arms as they spin back, which she blocks with her left arm, then all of the mannequins began spinning themselves, with one coming behind and about to hit, which Valerie blocks with her right arm, Then another came from behind her with a roundhouse kick, but she quickly put her leg down because she had jumped a little too high and one of the mannequin legs was about to sweep her off her feet, which she had made a mistake as one came from behind and hit her on the ribs, making her wince because it was covered in shaper spikes and made her bleed a little.

"Fuck," she mutters, but then she hears, "Don't stop now; once you get used to it, it will be easy for you, and while this step is simple, I'll make it more difficult as you progress," Bang says as he continues to look down on her, then hears her say "fuck," at which he chuckles, "keep going; don't let this stop you."

——————————————-——————————————-——————————————-—————————————

Valerie's training has been going on for five months, and we're currently outside the dojo because the sky is gray with rain and lightning, and heavy fog covers the entire mountain area. We get a better view by moving closer to where we hear sounds like things hitting each other.

Bang raises his staff and swings downward on Valerie, who is dressed in a black tanktop and black pants with a white belt and a blindfold covering her eyes, as well as being covered in bruises and scratcj marks while bleed aswell; she dodged, took a step frowrd planting on them on a pillar, but her foot misplaced as she was about to fall forward into the pit, but she planted her hands on a pillar and her right leg on another; if she had fallen into the pit below her, she would have died. "Again, I'll be going at double the pace this time, so you need to react quickly, and I'll have some help with me," he said, then Bobo emerged from the fog, a Bo staff twirling between his fingers. "Alright, start now!"

——————————————-——————————————-——————————————-—————————————

Another five months have passed, and it is now winter, with snow falling from the sky and a cold wind blowing through the air, and Valerie's senses and reflexes have greatly improved since then. Now we go over to the mountain's side, looking down as there is mist covering everything, and we see a figure in the mist carrying something on its back while climbing, and grunting out of the mist comes Valerie, who is sweating heavily through her clothes and carrying a boulder on her back that is tied around her waist and that is twice her size.

Valerie has never rock climbed before, which is why she is afraid; one reason she is sweating; and another is that she has to carry a boulder on her back. Just what kind of training is this? Well, it is one of Bang's training methods. Where is Bang, you ask? He's back on top of the mountain, standing on the edge and smiling as he says, "Well, dodge this," before grabbing the spear from the rack beside him. As he raises the spear in his hand and aims below, he throws with full force, leaving a gust of wind behind.

Back with Valerie as she continues to climb up the mountain with her hands shaking a little, "OK, this isn't too bad," she grunts, then comes to a halt for a moment as she looks up, her eyes widening as she leaps to the side, grabbing an edge as something flies by at high speed. "What the—" She is cut off as the edge she was holding onto breaks easily as she falls, but she quickly catches herself by grabbing another edge with one hand as her body dangles off the edge, gritting her teeth, and pulling herself up, now grabbing on with both hands as she looks down. "Ok, I assume that I have to dodge them, like one said, "If you can dodge a wrench, you dodge a ball." She continues to climb up while dodging.

——————————————-——————————————-——————————————-—————————————

Valerie has been training for three months and has grown even stronger now that it is summer, with the sun shining and cloudy skies as a heat wave rages within the skies, when suddenly, smoke rises in the air. As we search for the source of the smoke and hear someone grunting, we move toward the courtyard and find the source of the smoke and grunting. Once there, it turns out to be Valerie, who is clearly sweating and breathing heavily. The reason is because she is doing pull-ups with one hand and a large boulder chained around her left feet. And the entire floor is covered in flames, which explains where the smoke is coming from.

"4,998"

She pulls herself up and goes down.

"4,999"

up and down once more.

"5,000"

She comes to a halt in midair as sweat drips from her body and her breath becomes shallow. A clap can be heard, which gets her attention. Bang is across from her, dressed casually for the summer heat in a blue tanktop that shows off his very muscular arms and is covered in scars, black sunglasses, and white shorts, while Valerie suffers in the heat. "All right, now it's time to add more weight to you and do 10,000, then reset," he said to her, and she responded, "Fuck." He chuckled at her response.

——————————————-——————————————-——————————————-—————————————

It is midnight in the sky with a full moon in the jungle forest. This jungle is on the other side of the island, filled with tall trees and plants, and there are small hills everywhere. as the entire area is covered in heavy mist and the air is extremely thin near its peak, making it extremely difficult for people to breathe. Hearing footsteps now, which means someone is running through the darkness of the forest as moonlight shines through it, turns out to be Valrie, as she is running while wearing a blindfold covering her eyes to keep her vision in the dark as it is another training run. As she keeps running, suddenly something comes from the left as a large tree log comes out to strike her, but with reflexes, she slides under the log.

She gets up and runs while a figure revealed to be Bang watches from above as he vanishes from the trees' back with Valerie still on the run, passing by a tree looking forward and seeing the ground as there are bunches of leaves everywhere on the ground, but just at the end there is a small flag, knowing it's a trap for Valerie to encounter as she runs, but then her foot steps on a leaf, and then a trap is set off as it shoots out a sharp wooden stick, followed by another from above as more sharp wooden sticks. All of them are aiming at her, but she isn't fazed by it, hasn't stopped running, and continues to run ahead.

'From above,' she thought as she moved to the left to dodge a sharp wooden stick aimed for her head.

'Left and right,' she thought as she moved to the right and the stick passed over her head, then to the left as it passed over her shoulder.

'Middle,' she thought as she dove beneath the stick that was nearly aimed at her chest.

'can't dodge this' She does a cartwheel right between the lines of fire as the sticks pass by her stomach, landing on her two feet and continuing to run ahead and avoid everything while still being watched by Bang as he studies her. "She continues to grow faster with everything I throw at her; honestly, I'm suppressed by this; I used this training method a long time ago, and nobody tried to continue on; they all just gave up and left besides a few people that I know that have completed it," he says whisperingly.

He continues to watch her as she approaches the flag, which she then grabs, and then takes off the blindfold and jumps up and down happily, saying, "She accepted everything I threw at her; never give up such a strong will she has with her." he says to himself and chuckles, then Valerie turns to look up at him: "Hey, old man, is it time for lunch now!" She yells out to him, and Bang then jumps off the tree where he was and lands right in front of her. "Yes, it's lunchtime," he says as he is petting her head; she moves his hand away from her as Bang chuckles, then walks ahead, saying, "Come along," as he motions his hand to follow him along, which she did as they walked.

——————————————-——————————————-——————————————-—————————————

Later, it was still midnight when they arrived at a cherry blossom tree, but with the full moon out, it provided light as they both sat against the tree with their backs against it as they banged to remove a backpack from his back, then placed it on the ground, then pulled out two bento boxes, each with four layers, and gave one to Valerie and one to himself, They both sit down, and then bang, he reaches back into his backpack and pulls out two chopsticks, one for Valerie and one for himself, and they both put their hands together and say "itadakimasu."

And they process eating to their hearts' content while taking in the peaceful surroundings, with millions of stars shining like diamonds in the sky and a gentle breeze, while viewing and hearing the oceans, which look even more beautiful with the moon's reflection on the water, and hearing the animals and insects from all over the island.

The peaceful silence is interrupted by Valerie saying "hey, Bang-sensei," as she continues to eat. "Hmm," he says, his mouth full of food, "can you tell me something about you?" She says as she chews her food, looking to the side, waiting for an answer while Bang thinks. "Why?" he asks, "because I haven't had a chance to talk to you and I want to know what you were like before living on this island, and I know you aren't some regular old man; you were something before all of this, weren't you? Am I right?" She continues to eat, moving on to the next layer box, as she hears Bang sigh and looks over to see him place his bento box on his lap and cross his arm over his chest.

"I'm guessing you aren't going to let this go, aren't you?" He says this as he watches the sun rise over the horizon. "Nope," she says, with a pop sound at the end, as he sighs as he tells her everything. "Well, you're right; I'm not just an old man," he says as he inhales and exhales. "I was born and raised in the grand line; my homeland is known for its martial arts warriors of all kinds; we were the best at developing new teachings," he says as he starts to simile.

"I was known for being a prodigy, and when I was old enough, I left to become a marine. I started low, but I quickly rose through the ranks and became a Vice Admiral in no time," he laughs, "and every pirate in the entire sea feared me; and there were some of the fools who wanted to fight me but lost; those were the times I sorely missed." Valerie looks at him with wide eyes and a gaping mouth. 'Holy sh*t,' she thought. "Were there any legendary fighter stories you once fought about that you wanted to tell me?" she inquired as he chuckled.

"Well, there were some I can think of, and I deeply miss them, but let's see, there's Big Mom, Whitebeard, Rocks D Xebec, Shiki the Golden Lion, and finally, my favorite, Gol D Roger." He smiles in thought of the times of his youth.

"HOLY SHIT!, You fought Gol D Roger, the king of pirates, who found the one piece. You have to tell me everything. Tell me, tell me, tell me!" She exclaims, grabbing Bang by the shirt and shaking back and forth as he taps her on the head.

"OK, OK, I'll tell you everything," he says as he tries to get her to stop, which she did immediately, then sits patiently with her eyes showing excitement in them. "Well, at the time, he was younger than me, and I was old, so we frequently fought all the time when we crossed paths; our fights always lasted about a week, and occasionally we partied like there was no tomorrow. There's always the saying that Marines shouldn't be friends with pirates or associate with pirates, but sometimes I believe that rule is foolish. But I do agree that there are pirates who are evil and who have no morality; they all have the same memo just about money, power, fame, and status, and they'll do it without a cause. Those are the ones I truly call scum," he says angrily, fists clenched and veins visible on his hand.

"Of course, pirates aren't the only ones who are evil; the marines and the world government are so corrupt that they are willing to endanger the lives of civilians, including children and elderly women, in order to achieve absolute justice. The followers of absolute justice believe that all evil must be eradicated from the world. They are prepared to go to any lengths to ensure that justice is served. In their quest for justice, these individuals do not hesitate to slay anyone who dares to obstruct them. They do not care about collateral damage. One example of this is the Ohara incident. Can you believe it all in the name of justice!? That wasn't justice; it was a massacre to prevent people from learning the truth about its history. But the more I watched from both sides, the more I realized the world is just corrupted by the world government," he says as he relaxes while Valerie looks at him in shock. "Did you leave the Marines?" she says as Bang nods his head and replies, "Yes, yes, I did."

"So you were a legend in the Marines, and you just walked up and left the base just like that, like you said, "Hey, I quit!" like that," she mockingly says to Bang, to which he chuckles. "As much as I wish that had happened, it didn't exactly happen like that," he says with a chuckle, then immediately stops as his shadow covers his eyes. When Valerie sees this, she asks, "What happened?" as she watches him sigh and then look up at her with a straight face and answer, "Well, I punched a celestial dragon, Wahaha," as he laughs with tears and snot coming out of his eyes and nose.

.

.

.

.

"WAIT WHAT,! What do you mean you punched a celestial dragon? Explain. I mean, not that I'm mad or anything, but I want to punch one, so tell me," She says, shocked, then happily. "Well, a day before I was to quit, I went to the Sabaody Archipelago for relaxation, but I was still a marine officer, so as I was relaxing, I heard someone scream for help, and I went to investigate the problem. I arrived at the scene and saw the most disgraceful sight there: I saw celestial touching a young girl who was only five years old. I stepped in because I saw no one helping her. My responsibilities as a marine officer are to protect and assist. So, I walk up to the celestial dragon, and as he pulls out a gun and fires, I dodge its bullets and, with one punch, shock the world to its core. Soon after that, I was listed as a wanted criminal for hurting a celestial dragon in the newspaper. It didn't mention anything about the girl I saved, and I didn't even get to escort her to her parents. I was chased by the government and marines for a while, so I set out to sea to have a little adventure, but then I stopped and decided to retire on this island and live it all out to my death." He says all of this to Valerie, who is in awe of the story.

"I thought you were an old man, a lame guy, and a boring guy, but you're a badass, holy shit!" She says with excitement as Bang watches her go on and on about the story as it makes him laugh, which got her attention: "I didn't expect you to like the story so much, but listen, V, this isn't some lesson about you becoming a marine because of me. "Everyone has the freedom to choose their own path. We choose what makes us happy, and I want you to do the same: choose what makes you happy and live on," my uncle once told me, but I have a request for you." He says this to her, which gets her attention. "What is it?" she says to him as he looks into her eye. "I want you to get stronger. Okay, V," he says, raising his fist. "Heh, if that's your request, then you've got it," she said as they bumped fists as the sun shone on them as they made a promise to each other.
