8 Chapter 6: Three years of battle Part 3

[Third Person's Point of View]

"My face! WHY?! I'm hideous now! How will I ever go back to being pretty?!"

A pirate screams as he brings his hands to his bloodied face. The old man who had done this looks at the kneeling pirate and speaks.

"You were never pretty to begin with. The only thing about you that was pretty was your boringness... because you were pretty boring... Get it?... *Sigh* People have no sense of humor these days. Anyway, you asked why.

This is a life that you choose for yourself, and nothing will change that. You don't need to fret, nor do you need to be embarrassed. No one else can or should choose the path that you walk upon. You chose to be a pirate, to pillage and to murder those weaker than you.

It is only right that someone stronger than you has the right to kill you but you should at least have some dignity as a man when your time has come. At the very least, it will make your existence less boring... to me."

Had he not been in pain, the pirate would have been left speechless. The old man in front of him had taken barely five minutes to kill all of his crewmates. He first questioned what they did to deserve this but immediately got the answer as his victim's relatives, now freed, were cheering for the old man to end his life.

"Who are you?"

The pirate asked as he at least wanted to know this before he died.

"Hm... I'm Chandler but most people know me by my epithet... the Pacifier Fiend."

If the pirate's complexion was pale due to fear, it was now purple after hearing Chandler's epithet. Chandler swung his sword and was about to cut down the Pirate when he stopped his hand at the right time to prevent the blade from cutting the pirate in front of him.

"*Sigh* I guess this was bound to happen. You guys were boring till the very end. I don't feel the need to get strawberry milk anymore. Damn, pirates ruined my mood."

Chandler said before turning around and leaving the scene. The reason for this was that the pirate had already died from shock. To make matters worse, he had peed and crapped his pants. After witnessing this, Chandler naturally did not feel like getting strawberry milk.

'How can I get a strawberry milk after facing such weaklings? *Sigh* This is getting boring. Nobody is exciting anymore... At least nobody I can fight without Sengoku nagging my ears off. Speaking of which, that bastard became the Fleet Admiral yet he did not fulfill our promise.

Sengoku, Garp, me, and Cusack, we promised each other that one of us would one day become Fleet Admiral and from that day, all female officers will be required to wear... Tiny mini-skirts!

For Garp, I can understand not accepting his promotion but Sengoku that jerk, how dare he fire me for trying to make our dream come true!? *Sigh* Cusack, you bastard! See how much shit I have to deal with now that you went up and did something so stupid.'

*PURUPURUPURU*

*PURUPURUPURU*

*PURUPURUPURU*

As he is leaving the village's remains, Chandler hears this sound which he recognizes. Someone is trying to contact him via transponder snail. He reaches and grabs his transponder snail before he answers it. As he does this, the snail's appearance changes slightly. It gains an afro and a weird beard.

"Chandler, do you have anything to say to me?!"

The snail says in an angry tone. Its eyes are sending daggers at Chandler who responds in a calm manner.

"Oh Sengoku, I was just thinking about you. As a matter of fact, yes I do have something to say to you... when will you fulfill the promise we made when we started out as-"

He was cut off by Sengoku yelling at him through the snail.

"OH FOR THE LOVE OF- WE NEVER MADE SUCH PROMISE! STOP TRYING TO MAKE YOUR DELUSIONAL MEMORIES INTO REALITY! THIS TIME IT WAS A TINY MINI-SKIRT, LAST TIME IT WAS A BIKINI MANDATORY UNIFORM FOR ALL FEMALE OFFICERS! ARE YOU TRYING TO GET ANOTHER SEXUAL HARASSMENT CASE ON YOU?!"

Chandler looked at the snail with a serious expression and spoke as the wind blew around him.

"If you run into a wall and pretend it doesn't exist, you'll never make any progress. The wall will never change, so you're the one who has to change."

Silence reigned for a second before the snail yelled once more.

"HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU TO STOP TRYING TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT BY SAYING SOME RANDOM INSPIRATIONAL SHIT?!"

Chandler looked at the sky as he spoke once more.

"Only when a mosquito lands on a man's testicles will he realize that... violence is not always the answer."

A full minute of silence ensued before Chandler heard the sound of things breaking being made by the snail. A storm of curses was heard here and there along with the sound of objects being broken. This lasted for a full hour before Sengoku spoke to Chandler in a calm tone.

"Can you explain to me why you went to Big Mom's territory and what you did to anger her so much that her forces attacked every Marine base near her in the New World?"

Chandler tilted his head to the right as if he was trying to remember what happened then spoke once his head was straight.

"I just went to see how my child was doing, you know me and her have a sort of history-"

"The same can be said with a lot of women, now explain what you did!"

Sengoku cut him off once more. Chandler sighed before answering.

"I just went to see how my child was doing but it turned out that my child became boring under Linlin so I wanted to make another one-"

"How does that-"

Sengoku asked his question but it was answered before he finished it

"So I told her to lose some weight, a lot of it... matter of fact, I decided to help her by stealing all of the deserts in her territory and leaving a letter saying that I hid them in a Marine Base nearby. I also added that if she wanted them back then she should move her fat ass."

Chandler closed his eyes for a few seconds before opening them and spoke in a philosophical tone.

"So you see... It's not my faul-"

"IT'S ABSOLUTELY YOUR FUCKING FAULT! FIRST, YOU CHARM THEN FUCK BIG MOM BECAUSE SHE WAS SUPPOSEDLY INTERESTING ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU AN INTERESTING CHILD! THEN YOU LEFT AFTER SHE GOT PREGNANT!

YOUR CHILD GREW UP TO BE A CORE MEMBER OF HER PIRATE CREW AND IS GAINING NOTORIERTY AS THE DAY GOES BY! FINALLY, I AM THE ONE THAT IS STUCK DEALING WITH THAT MESS."

Sengoku yelled and then proceeded to list the amount of damage Big Mom had caused to the Navy. Chandler listened to all of it then he looked up into the sky with a melancholic look and spoke as the wind passed by him.

"Sengoku... I always, always wondered, I was born to die, so what was my reason for existing in this world?"

"STOP TRYING TO CHANGE THE FUCKING SUBJECT! GO INTO THE NEW WORLD AND FIX THE FUCKING MESS YOU FUCKING CREATED!"

Sengoku yelled.

"I'm a pacifist now, Sengoku. Those fighting days are behind me but fine I will do it under one condition..."

Chandler says before asking a question quickly and in a low tone.

"Chief admiral, who is going to solve my mess for me says what?"

"What- NO! DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE HANG-"

*GACHA*

Sengoku said before the snail closed its eyes.

"Haha! Works every time! I wonder how long he is going to send a search unit for me this time. Last time, it lasted for about a year but they stopped after what I did to those Marine's wallets."

Chandler said as he walked on the edge of the Island and as a gust of wind blew the dust up, his whole body was covered by it but when the dust settled, he was no longer there. It would take a week for Chandler to see the first person who was sent by Sengoku to get him.

In a bar, an old man enters the bar and sits next to Chandler who is drinking alone. He is a tall, tanned, broad-chested, muscular old man. He has a beard and a scar over his left eye. His hair is mostly grey though there is still a touch of black here and there.

He is wearing a Navy Vice-Admiral uniform. He looks around and sighs at the sight before him. He and Chandler are the only living people in the bar, the rest are dead. Most of them have a horror-painted look on their face making one shudder at what made them look like that before they died.

"*Sigh* I have no sympathy for criminals but every time I see how they end up after facing you... I can't help but feel sorry for them. So who were they this time? Pirates? Underground underlings?"

He asked and as he was about to give a third guess, Chandler spoke but this time it was with a sobber and sad tone.

"Garp? So you are the one Sengoku sent to get me? I guess that was to be expected... To answer your question... They were a slave trafficking ring operation in this bar. Everyone here worked in it... They hunted down escaped slaves or captured and sold people into slavery. A couple of missing people in this town were because of them."

Chandler slammed an empty bottle of rum on the counter as he finished his sentence. Garp seemed to have a tired look, he ruffled his own hair before turning back and spoke as he left the bar.

"Sengoku told me to bring you back no matter what... so I suggest you leave this Island because I am supposed to arrive here tonight."

Garp walked around town with a complicated look as someone approached him.

"Hm... Excuse me, are you perhaps a Marine?"

Garp turned to face the man who had spoken to him.

"Yeah, I am so?"

At Garp's words, the man took something from his pocket and presented it to him as he spoke.

"Oh thank god! That means that you will pay for your friend's debt!"

"Huh?"

Garp could only say this as he was confused. He took the piece of paper and read it. As he read it, veins started to appear on his now red face and threatened to pop.

"Dear Owner,

The Marines will be coming to this town in a few days to settle my debt please do not be shy to give them the bill for ALL my expenses. If they can not pay with money, then they will gladly do manual labor as it is their responsibility as Marines. If they were not to do that then they would be besmirching the honor of the Navy.

Signed Chandler,

[AN: Imagine a drawing of Chandler bidding them farewell with two fingers close to his face and a smile.]"

As Garp said it at loud, he noticed that a group of people were approaching him with the same paper in each of their hands. Garp immediately ran toward the bar where he had last seen Chandler with his hands curled up into fists. Upon arriving, he saw that Chandler was gone but he left a note.

"Garp,

If you are reading this that means people have come to you to pay off my debts. As an old friend, I can not bear to see you empty your pockets for my debts which is why I decided to leave as you suggested.

I know you must be tearing up inside just like me after seeing the amount of money my debt has amounted to I just want you to know that I feel your pain as any good old friend would. This is why I would like to give you a piece of advice for the future.

Be better at recognizing when someone is acting or else they will bleed you dry of all of your money. Consider this a lesson that I, as an old friend, took great pain into teaching you. I know by now you must be so touched by my actions that you could cry.

No need to thank me... but if you want to, you can clean the mess that Big Mom has made recently in the New World.

P.S. The people in this bar were criminals so you don't have to worry about it. I didn't lie about that.

Signed Chandler,

[AN: Imagine a drawing of Chandler bidding them farewell with two fingers close to his face and a smile.]"

Garp proceeded to tear that note apart and began to yell. This began a year-long chase where Garp hunted Chandler like a dog only to be rewarded by Debt receipt at each time he came close to catching Chandler.

Meanwhile, a certain boy had managed to survive fighting a thousand opponents per day for a year and a half. His name was starting to become increasingly known throughout South Blue as his feats were out of the ordinary for someone his age. He is Urek D. Mazino, "The Irregular".
