1 Chapter 1(short chapter) prologue

Inside a Hospital ward, a 25-year-old patient could be seen lying on the hospital bed. One can see that he is in a bad situation by looking at his sunken eyes and malnourished body, This is Greed.

Greed has been lying in this hospital for a whole year. One day a year ago, a headache slowly began to manifest in his head , at first he didn't take it seriously thinking it was the result of overworking. But unlike his expectations he fainted the following day, and the next thing he knew he was lying on a hospital bed. Greed knew something was going to happen today because since the day he fainted he saw red numbers floating in the air before him, to be more precise it was a countdown. At first, he thought he was simply hallucinating, and doctors were also thinking the same. But as the countdown kept approaching zero his situation started deteriorating. He kept having various check-ups until he couldn't afford it anymore but doctors still couldn't find the cause of his situation.Today, the countdown was gonna end, from the original 400 number to now 1. Greed can almost feel the countdown taking his life away.

"Why is this happening to me..? Greed whispered weakly with a hoarse voice. If you look at his eyes at the moment, you can see anger, confusion but most of all fear. Greed never considered himself a good person by any means, even though he had a history of commiting heinous acts but he definitely wouldn't say he deserved death. After all, there are a myriad of people worse than him in the world. Like most human beings, he is extremely afraid of death, after all, he doesn't know what will happen to him after his inevitable demise. This agonising feeling is amplified by the countdown in front of him, Every time a second goes down Greed feels like a knife in his head that is nearing his neck inch by inch.

As Greed looks at the clock he notices that there are about 30 seconds left till midnight. For the past year, he had noticed that the countdown goes down every midnight. As time trickles by, the fear of death that is haunting him is increasing. Finally,  midnight hits, and at the same moment Greed's whole body is frozen with fear in his eyes.
