5 Chapter 5: Unprecedented Curses

Sengoku, feeling a mix of frustration and disappointment, shook his head and approached the Projector Den Den Mushi to turn it off and retrieve the Cameko.

He couldn't believe he had allowed himself to be drawn into this situation, watching a Cameko provided by a pirate.

Vice Admiral Momonga had returned to the office after dealing with the Celestial Dragon and was ready to report the outcome.

Sengoku's expression was far from pleased, and he wasted no time in expressing his discontent as he tossed the Cameko to Momonga.

"Momonga, what is all this? This is utter nonsense!"

Sengoku's irritation was evident, and as Fleet Admiral, he couldn't believe he had been manipulated into watching a Cameko.

To make matters worse, the content of the Cameko appeared to be nonsensical gibberish.

Vice Admiral Momonga, equally disheartened, accepted the Cameko and left the office.

As he walked away, his face mirrored Sengoku's disappointment.

He had fallen victim to a pirate's ruse, and that pirate had a meager bounty of only 30 million beli.

Once outside, Momonga's aide approached him, inquiring about the Cameko. The assistant appeared curious, blinking with interest.

"Sir, is there anything significant on this Cameko?" the aide asked.

Momonga, still visibly upset, shook his head and removed the Cameko from his pocket, tossing it to his subordinate.

"It's useless; we've been deceived."

His expression remained cold as he quickened his pace, disappearing down the corridor.

Meanwhile, the assistant contemplated the situation. He couldn't help but be intrigued by the mysterious Cameko.

He reasoned that it couldn't be too dangerous, and disobeying the order to view it first would, at worst, cost him some time.

Besides, there were no other pressing duties that afternoon.

In the following hours, the word spread throughout the Marine base that even the Fleet Admiral and Vice Admiral Momonga had fallen for the Cameko ruse.

This piqued the curiosity of many Marines, and they gathered in an idle conference room, eager to see what had captivated their superiors.

Among the attendees were Rear Admirals, Captains, and even a Vice Admiral. They had all come to satisfy their curiosity.

"Has it started?" the Marines whispered among themselves as they crowded into the room.

The Cameko's projection began, revealing images that left the Marines perplexed.

The initial scene showed a well, and then the focus shifted to a woman emerging from the well.

"A well?" someone remarked.

"A woman crawled out of the well?" another added.

The Marines exchanged glances, some feeling a hint of discomfort due to the eerie images.

However, they were all battle-hardened elites, and these images hardly stirred their emotions.

"That's it? Seems like we've been fooled," one Marine commented dismissively.

Momonga's subordinate, unimpressed by the footage, grabbed the Cameko and tossed it into a nearby trash bin in the conference room.

"What a waste of time," he muttered.

At that moment, a Den Den Mushi nearby began to ring, and a Marine picked up the call.

The voice on the other end sent shivers down his spine.

*Puru-puru-puru Puru-puru-puru Puru-puru-puru.*

*Ka-cha*

"~7 hours~."

*Ka-lick.*

The Marine, baffled and unnerved by the call, brushed it off as a prank and disregarded it.

"It's just a prank call," he assured himself.

The other Marines, finding the entire situation underwhelming, grumbled as they dispersed from the meeting room and returned to their respective duties.

As the room emptied, one item went unnoticed—the Cameko, discarded in the trash bin. What no one realized was that, in the darkened room, the internal gears of the Cameko were still turning, as if it were playing something sinister...

Thank you BlackGoku222 for the initial MTL(bad translation but still a little understandable)
