108 Chapter 107

"Impressive, but do you really think that it would be enough?"

A fleeting whisper from his memories jolted him awake, and right before he was about to fall into the arms of Bonney, who had come running for him, he stopped in the air, and then calmly landed by her side.

The job was not done yet.

"Sin..."

He heard her call out to him but ignored her concern and walked over to the Birkan, who now had burn marks all over him, but surprisingly, he had survived.

Enel was lying on the ground, panting heavily, back in his true form, and seeing Sin approach, he started laughing.

"Yahhahahahaha... You are crazy."

"Thanks." He smiled as he arrived by his side, and his eyes immediately narrowed when he saw the burn marks on Enel's body healing at an alarming rate.

His instincts yelled at him to get back, but he stayed to shield the sudden Wind Blast that would have otherwise harmed the pinkhead and the rest who were a little away from him.

Bonney, Augur, Lily, Kuina, and Bart watched in disbelief as their Captain was hit at point blank and went crashing into the trees, and then to their horror, Enel stood up, still laughing madly.

"Yahhahahahaha..."

A pillar of Lightning fell from the sky, hitting him, which they thought was the doing of Sin, but what they witnessed next made his heart sink.

Enel returned to his Hybrid Form, bathing in the Lightning, and he seemed more invigorated with every passing second.

"He can recover himself by bathing in Lightning!" Augur, who was keenly looking at what was happening, shouted, and Enel laughed more after his words.

"No matter what you do, you can't kill me." He proudly said, but then his eyes turned severe. "And you have managed to engage me."

The Blackstar Crew readied themselves when they saw him glance their way, and when the evil smile crept on his lips, they knew something dreadful was about to happen.

Just when they thought that he would attack them, a frown appeared on Enel's face and he turned to look in the direction where he had sent Sin crashing.

"It isn't just the electricity that is healing him." Sin's voice sounded out in their ears, and then they watched him walk out of the woods, bleeding and battered, but still coldly looking at his enemy. "He tweaked your body, didn't he?" A ghostly smile crept on his lips, and Enel's eyes narrowed at him when he saw the Silvery-Blue Aura coat his body again. "So, you were his Test Subject too."

"Too?" Enel raised his brow at his words, but seeing the future, he smiled. "This Aura is impressive, but you can't go on for long. I can see how tired you are." Seeing Sin indifferently look at him even after his words, he laughed. "Well, God shall end your suffering soon."

The Birkan rushed at the Black, who did the same, and as soon as they clashed, the powerful shockwaves hurled the Blackstar Crew into the woods.

"Pull back!" Augur made the call, and even if they wanted to go forward and help Sin, all of them made the wise choice.

"Sin..." Bonney had tears brimming in her eyes when she saw the two of them rise to the sky once again.

She had never before seen him in such a sorry state, and she did not want to see him hurt like this.

"Attack!!!" Someone yelped, and the Crew was soon surrounded by 50 Soldiers of God's Army, who used the Axe Dials to send near-invisible Wind Blades at them.

Bonney, who was emotionally disturbed, glared at them before she rushed forward like a tiger ready to hunt a herd of sheep.

Everyone watched in disbelief as her right leg suddenly stretched like it was made of rubber, and in one long swing, she took out more than half of the soldiers.

She completely ignored the Wind Blades, which hit her but failed to land any damage on her, and after the rest of the Crew dealt with the Wind Blades coming their way, they glanced at her before rushing at the remaining soldiers.

It was only a matter of a minute before all the Soldiers were taken care of, and only their Leader, Yama, remained, who was up against Kuina.

Since Sin had wanted her to deal with this guy, no one offered to help her in the battle, and the Swordsgirl was glad about their trust in her ability.

Thousands of metres up in the sky, Sin was engaged in, what was perhaps, the hardest battle of his life.

And the issue was that he was significantly more tired than his opponent, who possessed enhanced healing and recovery abilities.

However, despite the odds against him, he had a crazy smile on his lips as he was truly enjoying himself right now.

"You are getting slower," Enel commented, but the next moment, he was smacked across his face and sent flying backwards.

"I am still faster than you."

Sin rushed towards his enemy, and pierced right through the Wind Blades and Wind Blast that the Birkan had generated by flapping his wings to stop him, and he landed a powerful kick to his side, which despite getting blocked, hurt a lot.

The longer they battled and the more tired he became, Sin felt his mind clearing up more and more, and things around him seemed to slow down a lot.

Even when the Birkan managed to dodge some of his attacks, and counter-attacked, Sin did not lose his focus.

Losing was simply not an option for him, and the thought never even crossed his mind. All he wanted to do was damage Enel even more, make him suffer, and take him out. And unbeknownst to him, it was exactly what had started happening.

Enel was terrified when he felt the strength behind Sin's attacks rising with every hit that landed on his body.

Somehow, everything that hit him was hurting him deep inside and he could feel the pain reaching his bones. But then something even more worrying started to happen a few minutes later.

Strangely enough, even the attacks that narrowly missed him and did not even touch his body started hurting him, and this whispered fear in his heart.

He was a prideful person, and he would never run from the fight, especially not when his opponent was so tired and only a few hits away from losing consciousness.

Knowing well that Lightning could not hurt Sin, he still coated his body and limbs with it, and he was elated when he discovered that it could, somewhat, resist the damage.

"Let's see how long you can keep going like this." He laughed and then started targeting the people across Skypiea with his powers again, forcing Sin to use his Lightning powers and drain himself faster.

More minutes passed, the Birkan's plan worked, and eventually, Sin had considerably slowed down to the level where he could keep up with him. And Enel decided to return the favour of all the beating that he had received so far.

"I am curious."

"What?" Sin grinned when the enemy suddenly spoke to him after punching him.

"Why do you keep that sword on your back if you are never going to use it?"

"Ahahaha..." He laughed and then winced as he blocked a powerful kick with both his forearms. "I want to defeat you without using a sword."

"Oh, why?" The Birkan frowned and then coated his hand with a sharp Wind Blade before slashing with it.

Sin casually deflected it with his hand, but the hand twisted and still reached for his body.

Enel's eyes narrowed when he saw the Blade fail to touch the skin and get blocked by the Aura around his body.

However, he did not pay much heed to it and smacked a punch into his opponent's face, a mistake that would cost him too much.

"I am quite prideful." Sin chuckled as he blocked the first with his forehead, at a speed that stunned the enemy, and he did not budge against the force. He quickly grabbed Enel's hand, and then he smashed a kick across his enemy's head that rattled his brains.

And the speed that he had just displayed, dismayed the man even more.

"You have a bad habit of dropping your guard." He lightly smiled.

The simple deception had paid off, and he had managed to make Enel drop his guard again by feigning to lose his speed. And now, it was time to capitalise on the opportunity.

Sin landed a barrage of Lightning fast hits on the Birkan's body, rendering him defenceless against the assault, and then quickly coated his fist in Lightning before smashing it into his opponent's abdomen.

There was some resistance, but once he forcefully poured more Haki into his fist and then tried to coat the lightning with it too, Enel's defence broke. The lightning-coated fist pierced through the flesh and disappeared inside his body.

"Didn't see that coming, did you?" He grinned but then froze when the Birkan grabbed his hand before he could pull away.

"Damn you!" Enel was enraged, almost suicidal, and he coated his left claw with Wings before throwing it at Sin's face.

The Black winced when he blocked the oncoming claw with his free hand, and then a mad glint flashed in his eyes.

A crazy idea flashed in his mind, and it chilled his heart.

Enel coughed out some Blood and tried to breathe, but he was not given any opportunity as the Black refused to back away. Instead, he saw the young man grit his teeth before pouring even more lighting into his hand that was inside his body.

"What are you...No..." The Birkan struggled for his life when he sensed his insides start melting, and he crazily attacked Sin with his legs and a Wind Blast to push him away.

However, it was all for nought as the glint in his enemy's eyes told him that this was the end.

Sin's body soon started transforming into Lightning, then took its Plsamic Form, which pierced his eyes, and then they were off to somewhere at a very terrifying speed as he experienced the worst pain of his life that blanked his mind.

Enel regained some clarity when he felt them drop from the sky, and even though he could see that his enemy had used all his remaining strength and was falling together with him, there was nothing he could do now.

His limbs wouldn't even move, and he was completely numb now.

The two bodies fell and crashed on an Island Cloud, which cushioned the impact.

When his vision briefly cleared as he took his last breath, he found himself lying in the midst of the ruins of a place he was very familiar with.

He was going to die where he was born.

"How fitting..." He tried to laugh but could not do it as darkness soon enveloped him.
