Chapter 2: Shell town

As shell town came into view, I kept thinking about should I give a devil fruit to Nami? She will certainly fight Arlong but what next? Will she even join Luffy? This is the curse of being reincarnated, I don't want to mess with cannon yet I am involved in cannon somehow.

I had some many better options for combat yet I am stuck with sake sake fruit. That's not to say it isn't great. I can easily make any type of alcoholic beverage I can think of which can make me a lot of money and it did when I was an orphan. It can be hard fighting people as they can just throw and torch at me and I have to stay human. If I can coat even a small object with Armament I can take out Arlongs crew by snipping them.

"Follow my lead and make sure we aren't seen" Nami commands me. The idea is that this is a scouting mission so Nami can steal. I thought about just running away but then my conscience will not rest easy. After coming up with different tactics we decided to just purely sell alcohol to everyone here. Since I don't think we can escape Morgan as we are now.

One month later

"We made 600K berries just by selling alcohol and 130K from the stolen jewelry/cash" Nami says

"250K is your cut" she hands me the money and we start sailing back to Cocoyashi island.

We gained valuable insight about were the pirates are operating and how to pick targets. We didn't stay for long as then we would need to pay income tax and I ain't paying that.

"Do you want a devil fruit?" I ask her out of the blue and it surprises her.

"Didn't you say they were expensive? And I don't think I will be able to afford that and pay Arlong off. I would rather try some cheaper means to kill him" Nami says

"I know you made a deal with him to buy off Cocoyashi village but without the brawn to make sure he follows through you don't have a chance. I know a couple people that can supply us with combat devil fruits but they would take a couple of years. Also after Arlong is gone what about Nezumi? He would probably kill all the villagers to hide his corruption." I say to a wide eyed Nami.

"Don't worry about that for now, we need to make sure we plan ahead or we can end up dead"
