1.Legacy

On an unknown island.

"Grandma tell me a story." said a cute child of 7 to 10 years old.

"You won't sleep without hearing a story huh~." Said a old but beautiful woman even the passage of time couldn't diminish her beauty.

"Long time ago the vast sea was dominated by mighty pirates. They were very strong but even among them was a man with boundless might no one was his match. He had a dream to conquer the vast seas to rule the world and become its king. so he declared a war against the world with his mighty crew, but his strength fell short against the whole world and fall against its might, but even while embracing his death he held his head high and Smiled.

"Don't rejoice, while I have fallen. My legacy will continue and bring you to your knees, XEHAHAHAHAHA" and he drew his last breath while standing tall. Even in his death he looked MIGHTY."

"Grandma! why are you crying are you hurt somewhere. Let us go to see a doctor." child spoke hurriedly while standing up.

"Silly child, don't you know I am a doctor of this village. And I am not crying there was something in my eye" said grandma with sad and melancholy smile.

"Phew!! Thank god!! what will I do if something happen to you." child spoke in worry.

"Don't speak nonsense. Now sleep." grandma spoke in stern tone. After hearing his grandma's stern tone he hurriedly closed his eyes. Grandma's stern expression immediately fell and sad smile took its place.

'I am sorry. I won't always be there for you my child. You will have to grow up early but I know you will pull through and emerge stronger than ever. Because you are his grandson after all.' suddenly her eyes turned sharp. "They finally found us huh. After all these years." After taking tender glance at her dear grandson she disappeared from her spot.

Only small breathing sounds remained in the small hut.

In the middle of the sea huge galleon of marine ships were advancing towards the small island.

"Vice-admiral tsuru, we are approaching the island. Should we prepare the cannons." Marine Soldier said.

"No need she is already here." vice admiral tsuru spoke while glancing at the old woman who was standing in the air.

"How are you, tsuru" old woman asked neutrally.

"I am fine, Empress of the sea Maha D. Kartiki."

"HAHAHAHAH, Its been years since I heard that title." There was only silence after that, then both women moved at the same time and the battel began between Empress kartiki and whole navy fleet. The battle which will be the cause of our Hero's journey.

|| Few hours later ||

Whole marine fleet was demolished. Tsuru was standing on the demolished ship covered in blood and missing arm. While empress kartiki was standing on the air with sword through her heart.

"You have grown strong Tsuru."Empress spoke, she staggered in the air and plummeted in the sea.

'In spite of that it took whole navy fleet stronger than buster call to finally defeat you' vice admiral tsuru thought internally while glancing at the spot where empress kartiki took her final breath.

On the ocean bed seemingly dead kartiki opened her eyes slowly. Gathering last of her strength she started to swim towards the island to take last look at her grandson. After stepping on the land she removed the sword from her chest and started to slowly advance towards the direction of her hut. With each step she took, she left bloody imprint on the sand. Sometime later she arrived in front of her hut and stumbled inside it.

THUD!!!

Hearing the noise kartiki's grandson groggily opened his eyes. after sitting up from the bed. First thing he saw was his grandma lying on the ground and huge hole in her heart. blood was flowing from her like river.

"GRANDMAAA!!!" he screamed and immediately came near his grandma.

"NO NO NO , is-is this nightmare , wha-wha-wha should I do. Don't worry grandma I will do something."

"listen my child." grandma weakly muttered.

"no no no don't speak. I will get someone from the village" he started to get up but grandma weakly grasped his wrist.

"Calm down and let me just look at you" she spoke soothingly with a gentle smile. even if in pain she never showed a painful expression in front of her grandson.

He gently took her head in his lap and started to wipe the blood from her face. and started to shed tears silently. while kartiki just stared at him as if trying to imprint his face in her very soul so even in afterlife she could remember him.

"You have become so big now. Its as if just yesterday you were crawling towards me while trying to speak grandma. I..I..I wanted to see you grow up in fine young man." grandma spoke while caressing his cheek.

"What are you saying grandma. You are not going anywhere. 'Sniff' 'Sniff' I still haven't shown you my super duper sword style, so please don't leave me. please 'Sniff' please grandma. what will I do without you." He spoke in his broken voice.

Slowly tears also started to flow from kartiki's eyes. "Don't cry you dummy. don't you want to become big and strong. Do you remember the story I told you? The story about the mighty pirate. That pirate was your grandpa" kartiki said with a big smile on her face.

Her grandson momentarily stopped crying in shock. "Yeah he was you grandpa. The man who almost brought whole world to his knees ROCKS D. XEBEC and you are his grandson and his legacy ROCKS D. ARTHUR." She spoke with pride.

"Even if I am gone I know you will pull through. and Arthur.. Don't be picky.. Eat lots and grow strong. Make sure that you bathe every day and stay warm.. Also.. Don't stay up late.. You need lots of sleep. And make friends.. You don't need a lot of friends.. Just a few.. Ones you can really, really trust. Remember that everyone has strengths and weaknesses. So don't get too depressed if you can't do something well.... Arthur, from now on, you're going to face lots of pain and hardship.. Be true to yourself.. Have a dream and have the confidence to make that dream come true.. There's so much.. Oh, so much more that I want to pass on to you..... I wish I could stay with you longer....And remember you will always be my precious treasure.....

After saying those heartwarming words kartiki took eternal rest with a soothing and gentle smile still on her face.

"Grandma, no.... don't go plz.... Please don't leave me. 'sob sob' please....." Arthur silently wailed while placing his head on kartikis bosom.
