With Cadre Suko on scene all the pirates were more orderly. They presented themselves in better regard and acted more like a unit. Suko let out a loud wet disgusting belch as he took center stage shouted out loudly.
"OYE, TO THE COCKY LITTLE SHIT THAT THINKS THAT HE CAN KILL MEMBERS OF OUR CREW WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT YOUR ALREADY SURROUNDED. NOW TYPICALLY WE WOULD KILL SOMEONE LIKE YOU BUT IT TAKES SOME BALLS TO DO WHAT YOU DID SO I'LL MAKE A DEAL WITH YOU BECAUSE I LIKE TO CRUSH PEOPLE WITH A STRONG SPIRIT LIKE YOURS. IF YOU COME OUTSIDE, STRIP NAKED, KISS MY FEET, AND GROVEL FOR YOUR LIFE I SUKO YOSHIO CADRE OF THE KRIEG PIRATES WILL SPARE YOUR LIFE AND MAKE YOU OUR SHIPS PERSONAL MASCOT".
The other pirates laughed at the idea of Ulrick becoming the ships mascot. They all knew that he wasn't going to last long as one if he actually accepted the offer but at least everyone in the crew can have fun mistreating him before he dies.
"THIS OFFER WON'T LAST LONG YOU HAVE UNTIL I FINISH COUNTING DOWN FROM 10 TO STEP OUT OR YOUR THROUGH. 10 ... 9 ... 1. ALRIGHT LIGHT'EM UP BOYS".
Simultaneously about 20 guys picked up their guns and started shooting at the bar. Mre people joined in during the chase because of all the noice. Tables, chairs, liquor, and a bunch of other things all got shot to hell making the bar look worse than it already is. Ulrick and Manroe both hunkered behind the bar counter for safety since it had a large metal armor plating to keep bullets from going through. The gun fire was to intense at the start so Ulrick and Manroe had no choice but to wait it out. When the gun fire died down that's when those two returned fire.
Manroe covered the left side of the building while Ulrick covered the right. Occasionally a pirate would poke their head trying to see if they got us only to get a face full of bullet holes. Ulrick and Manroe were doing a great job holding off the pirates but they inevitably run into a big problem they were almost out of bullets. They were able to hold off the pirates for almost two, but in the end Manroe's small bar wasn't an armory so he only had so much.
Behind the counter that was basically torn to shreads Manroe was downing a bottle of the most fancy and expensive alcoholic drink that he had in hidden in his shop. After a few large gulps he handed the bottle to Ulrick who also took a few large gulps without care before he handed it back to Manroe.
"You know boy I saved this particular wine for over 50 years. It came from an island that sunk to the bottom of the sea in the grand line. Which is just a lie that the world government spun up to hide that it was just another buster call. They don't even make that particular brand anymore. Its so rare people are willing to pay hundreds of millions upwards to a billion berry just for 1 bottle. I always thought that I would drink it after accomplishing something amazing in my life. After finding out its price I kept it to maybe pass on down to my son but since he died as well working as a no name marine I just kept it. I never once thought that after all these years that I would be drinking it on my death bed. But I guess that's not all bad at least I'll die here in my bar".
"That's one hell of a story old man but sorry to burst your bubble most likely those pirates will drag us outside than kill us. So at best you will die in front of your bar not in it".
"Where's your decency couldn't you even give an old man that".
"Well I would if you weren't speaking nonce come on man where's your fighting spirit".
"Its destroyed just like my bar".
"Even if I say there's a chance for us to make it out alive".
"Do tell how do you plan to pull off this miracle".
Ulrick had a grin on his face as he asked, " Do you know what a devil fruit is?".
"Of cores I do most people in the east blue are ignorant about such things like devil fruits or the grand line but I've been alive to long to not know anything. Boy are you trying to tell me that you actually ate one of those mythical fruits are you?".
"I am".
Without delay swift punch landed on Ulrick's head. Manroe looked furious as he yelled at Ulrick.
"Why the hell didn't you use its abilites before".
Ulrick shouted back, "I just got the damb ability so I can't use it to its full potential yet. Plus unlike other devil fruit abilites I need something to draw out its full potential".
Manroe looked at Ulrick and asked, "what do you need?".
Ulrick seriously replied, "Money and a lot of it".
Manroe thought for a moment as he looked deep into Ulricks eye before he replied, "my safe is in that room next to you on your left. The combination is 472580. There is also some money left in the register that those bastards somehow managed not to hit right above you. I really hope your not trying to screw me over because while the dead may not need money it won't stop me from haunting you".
"Relax I got this".
Ulrick's confidence didn't just come from his overwhelmingly knowledged about how weak people in the east blue were it mostly came from it mostly came from one of the 3 mods that he recently just acquired.
[Rising Steel (Stance)] (Rank:0/3): A stance devised to immobilize and knock down opponents with controlled swings.
[Excalibur Chassis Blueprint]: warframe piece 1 of 3 pieces needed to complete.
[Grakata Blueprint] : standard issue grineer assault rifle.
Out of all those things the stance mod was the only thing he could immediately use and it was also the best thing to save his ass at that point because that stance had the ability to turn Ulrick from sword noob into a sword master just by equipinng it. The rank of the card effected his mastery of the stance but even if it was unranked it was still better then what those no name pirates could do.
The only problem that Ulrick had with the card was its sky high upgrade price. To upgrade the card 1 rank it was going to cost Ulrick 5 million berries (50,000 U.S). It was a decent sume of money Ulrick could only hope that Manroe had it on him. After Ulrick entered Manroe's office and entered the code he found stacked in front of him at least 6 million berries in cash. Ulrick was so happy at that point because it meant that the omnipotent bastard that sent him there wasn't compleatly an asshole.
Happy Ulrick snuck back to the bar counter were Manroe was at.
"There's no longer a need to worry old man I can definitely get us both out of here now".
"That's great because ...".
The next part of Manroe's words never came what did however in turn was a large stone brick that blasted straight through the bar counter that was reinforced with a thick iron plate that struck Manroe's back dead center. Once the dust cleared Ulrick saw to his horror Manroe's body implanted into the wall. His guts were squeezed up out through his mouth like a tube of toothpaste by the large rock that crushed his spine as it forcibly bent his body backwards. Manroe's blood sprayed outwards onto Ulrick's face. To Ulrick for a brief moment the entire world went silent and begun to slow down. As the world started to stand still Ulrick's eyes began to glow a bright crimson red.
