"Test subject number 31, the subject lasted 10 seconds after Ruin was administered."

'Huh! Did I doze off while watching? 'Who's talking?'

He opened his eyes to find himself in an unfamiliar location.

The familiar ceiling of the dark room was no longer there. He was instead in a bright room. Lights and walls covered the ceiling. Glass tanks are filled with a green fluid. It was like being in the laboratory of a mad scientist who was illegally experimenting on humans. The room resembled a laboratory, and he was lying on a metallic bed wired with various machines. His entire body ached.

He glanced around the laboratory and found a group of people in white coats, and they were looking at him with intense curiosity.

He gave them a glance and tried to speak, but nothing came out of his mouth. Then he tried to move his body, but moving his body felt like lifting a tank.

He gave up on trying and started to collect his thoughts.

'I recall filling out a form from a website, and then everything went blank after I enetered VR capsule.'

A flood of memories rushed through his mind, causing his head to throb in pain.

Filling out a fantasy form was the last thing he remembered before going completely blank. It had something to do with which world he would prefer to visit if it were real. After entering the other information, he selected One-Piece and pressed Enter.

"Quickly, let Dr. Vegapunk know! The test subject regained consciousness."

The normally quiet room erupted into a frenzy. The researchers were causing quite a stir.

Their words had left him befuddled. He thought he had heard of Vegapunk somewhere but couldn't place it.

The words of the researchers made no sense to him. He couldn't move or speak. As a result, he lay there without speaking to them.

Soon after, he heard the sounds of footsteps outside.

He noticed a group of people entering. A group of people were dressed in white T-shirts, blue scarves, and blue pants. They were all accompanying a white-coated researcher.

The escorted researcher looked like any other crazed researcher. He approached the group of researchers and began discussing things with them.

They were all calling him Vegapunk. All of this was vaguely familiar to him, but he couldn't place it.

Vegapunk ordered the guards: "Report this to Headquarter and request a powerful person for security."

As per Vegapunks' orders, one of the researchers left the room.

One of the guards brought a collar with him and it framed around his neck that looked like a slave collar.

All of the researchers surrounded him, keeping a safe distance.

"After thirty failures, he is the first success. What made his case distinct?"

"Should we lift his restrictions?"

"No, let the marines send a backup; otherwise, it could be dangerous."

"Reaseach," "Marines," and "Success" These words only added to his confusion.

Inside a laboratory, he was lying on a metal bed with a collar around his neck and wires all over his body.

After a few hours,

Someone walked into the room. He radiated a domineering aura.

After he arrived, he was greeted by all of the researchers.

He couldn't see his face. He was surrounded by them.

All of the restrictions were lifted one by one. He was able to move his body.

He rose from his seat and turned to face the researchers: "Who are you all, and where am I?"

The person that had just arrived started speaking: "You are in the research lab of marines and you are a test subject of Operation Ruin."

He could not see him due to the crowd: "And who might you be?"

As he approached Gray, the researchers made room for him: "My name is Akainu. I am one of the Admirals of the Marine."

He was shocked by his name, and after closely inspecting him, he was certain that the person standing before him was Akainu, one of One-Piece's marine admirals.

He had rapid thoughts inside his head. He couldn't believe it, but the proof was right there in front of him.

He looked at Akainu's face: "Who am I?"

Before responding, Akainu smoked his cigar: "You are one of the study's participants. Can't you get it in a single time?"

He was simply wasting his time and energy trying to get any information out. He wanted to escape, but he knew he'd be killed if he tried.

He was filled with amazement.

One piece was a huge world. There were countless things to discover, with no shortage of surprises. There are numerous ways to gain power, each with its own set of possibilities.

He remembered everything he had seen in anime. He couldn't believe that a form online which he filled out to waste his time had transmigrated him to this world.

He wasn't the type to hang out with marines for whatever reason, but he didn't have a choice at the moment.

His memories were still jumbled; he couldn't recall everything, only some of One-memories. Piece's He couldn't even recall his own name.

Akainu sat motionless, smoking and staring at Gray's puzzled and amazed expression.

Gray was sorting through his memories when he remembered the information he had filled out on the form:

Name: Gray

Age- 20 years

Race- Human

Memory: Partial

Devil fruit: ?

———————————————————————————————————

'I recall the one-piece anime but only a fraction of my previous life, and I can't recall which devil fruit I chose.'

As he organized his thoughts, he furrowed his brows.

First of all, he had transmigrated and become a successful byproduct of their experiment. He needed to know more about this experiment.

Secondly, they sent Akainu, of all people. So fleeing or doing anything else was out of the question. He also needed to figure out how to get rid of the slave collar.

Thirdly, he needed to know the timeline in which he had been transmigrated.

Finally, he had a bad feeling about what was going to happen to him.

At the time, he was frustrated. He received no cheats, resources, or other advantages. At the very least, he could have relocated to a more safe location! For all he knew, they could all be his enemies, and he was in the midpoint of it all.

He may be a transmigrator, but he has a single life here. If he died, that would be the end of the story.

He still wanted to believe it was all a dream, but it was too real to be.

After gathering his thoughts, he looked around at the faculty members and akainu.

When Akainu caught sight of him staring at them, he smoked his cigar and asked, "Do you remember now?"

"It appears that I have amnesia. I can't even remember what my name is."

One of the researchers stated that: "It puts such a large pressure on the body and mind that people can't even survive." Memory loss is a minor issue."

Akainu opened the report on the table, analyzed it, and handed it to him, asserting, "This is your data."

Gray began reading his report. It included some basic information about him.

After a while of reading, he asked Akainu, "What is this project ruin about that I volunteered to participate in?"

Akainu directed his gaze at one of the faculty members, instructing him to explain it to him.

Before they volunteered, they were informed of all of this. As a result, they had nothing to hide.

"Project Ruin was created to create marines with inhumane physiology like Kaido using the DNA and gene data we gathered while researching Kaido's body. All previous experiments had failed, and this was the final one, so it was decided to stop if it failed again and replace it with Cyborgs."

He remembered that after Kaido was captured, marines performed experiments on his body to create human and artificial devil fruit, but all of them failed because they all died. The original owner of this body died as well, but after he died, he replaced his soul, which is most likely the only reason the experiment succeeded, and there will most likely be no new one after this. Momonuske had eaten the same artificial devil fruit that gave him the power of a dragon.

'The cyborg program must have been the one Luffy encountered in Sabaody.'

Gray was a regular guy who liked VR-MMOs and watching movies in VR. He was thrown inside the real One-Piece world while watching One-Piece in real time through his VR capsule.

Gray thought to himself as he looked down at his skinny body: "This body now has supernatural strength like Kaido. At the very least, this is a positive part of the predicament.'

Gray had no other option. For the time being, he needed to work with them. "What will happen to me now?"

Akainu smoked his cigar: "Lay atop of that."

Gray was lying down on the experiment bed.

Researchers began testing him with various machines.

"There were no abnormilities found!"

"He has successfully integrated the Kaido genes."

Vegapunk was examining him with the assistance of other researchers. They were peering him down from head to toe.

After an hour of touching and appraising,

"He is no different than others, but he managed to survive."

"No, we haven't discovered anything new."

Gray laughed in his heart: "Of course, you won't find it."

After that, they tried the same thing with other subjects, but they all died in unbearable pain.

Akainu was disappointed. He was sent because if one succeeded, others would follow suit. He was charged with preventing all of them from wreaking havoc in the lab.

They needed to raise an army, not just one. Having Kaido's body would not make them instantly powerful.

Akainu was annoyed when all of the subjects died, leaving only Gray as a survivor. He'd wasted his time in the lab.

Gray still needed to be brought to the marine base, which Akainu still needed to do. Gray would be assigned to a unit with other recurits and trained as a marine.
