4 Chapter 4: Rogers Execution (Revised)

After parting ways with the marines, and the thief I knocked out, I walked around Loguetown taking in some sights.

I then headed to a back alley, where several thugs immediately tried to mug me.

But instead I reversed the situation and beat the shit out of them. Taking all the money each one of them had.

Since I was broke and needed cash.

After being up seven thugs I had myself a nice amount of 200,000 berri.

Once I did I went to a store and brought some proper clothes.

I then went to have a nice meal at a restaurant.

Before finding a hotel for the night and checking in.

I then spent the next week relaxing in Loguetown. Beating up more thugs and getting even more cash.

Until finally the day of the execution arrived.

Walking into the plaza I found myself standing in the middle of a crowd of people.

My eyes focused on the top of the execution platform just like everyone else today.

A deathly silence settled over the plaza.

Then soon after it did we all heard the sound of footsteps and chains rattling.

Until eventually the man of the hour reached the top of the platform for all eyes to see.

Gol D. Roger.

The man who obtained everything the world has to offer. The man who conquered the seas and reached the end of the Grand Line. The Pirate King.

Looking at him I didn't see a hint of fear on his face at his impending death. Instead all I saw was a huge smile.

Seeing this I knew instantly that Roger wasn't afraid of dying. No, not in the slightest.

This is a man who embraced life and lived everyday like it was his last.

Truly inspiring.

It's no wonder he became a legend.

Once he reached the top of the platform Roger sat down. "Ok, let's get this over with." He said.

Then as soon as he did so the executioners had him assume the position. The seconds then ticked by until the appointed time for them to kill Roger.

As this happened a tension started to feel the air.

I can feel all the hairs on my body standing up.

Seeing this event in person rather than on a screen truly is amazing. I won't ever forget it.

However there is one thing that's missing.

No one is asking Roger where he hid his treasure. That unnamed person hasn't spoken up yet, and it's almost time for Roger to die.

Seeing this I made a decision.

"Hey Pirate King! Where did you hide it, your treasure?!" I shouted.

Hearing my question Rogers grin only got wider.

"Oh, you want my treasure huh? Well that's fine. You can have it. All you have to is find it. I left it all in that one place!" Roger spoke.

Then before he could say any more the executioners took their blades and killed him.

But it was already too late.

Roger had already said the famous words. Kickstarting the Great Pirate Era.

As Rogers' last words reverberated over the plaza complete and utter silence followed.

You can hear a pin drop with how quiet it is.

...

"Haaa!"

A single scream broke the silence.

One it did more and more followed.

"Treasure!"

"Rogers treasure!"

"It's out there!"

People said all sorts of things.

Then before long they were running out of the plaza. Most of them heading towards their ships to set sail for the Grand Line.

Where the One Piece is located.

As all the excitement happened around me I felt I could barely keep myself still.

"Roger, have no worries. I'll do it. I'll find your treasure and become the next king of the pirates." I said. "I'll definitely do it!" I shouted.

I'll conquer the Grand Line and take Rogers mantle for myself.

And I won't let anyone or anything stand in my way.

Look out world, Achilles is on his way.
