Chapter 17: Instant Transmission

(Achilles: POV)

After giving Dr. Trafalgar the warning and advice I wanted I went and enjoyed Flevance along with the others for a few days before we set sail once more.

Immediately fending off a navy attack after we did.

We then continued doing so for the next two weeks straight almost non-stop.

Which did wonders for building everyone's stamina and combat experience. But to say it wasn't irritating is an understatement.

That's why as soon as we shook the Navy we found a deserted island to drop anchor at and then went ashore for some well deserved rest and relaxation.

Sitting a chair at our groups set up fold-out table I enjoyed the kebab's Kuroh had prepared for us for our beach lunch.

"Mhm, delicious as always Kuroh." I told him. Finishing off another kebab.

"Yeah, it's great." Wave said. Two in his hand.

Atalanta said nothing, but with the way her tails and ears were moving back and forth we knew she was enjoying the food.

"Tch, whatever." Kuroh said. Looking away from us. Getting a small blush on his face. "You don't have to praise me every time I make food you know. It's annoying."

"Sure, whatever you say tsundere." I said.

"What was that?" Kuroh questioned. Looking in my direction the moment I called him a tsundere.

"Nothing." I replied.

Ignoring the glare Kuroh was giving me as I continued to eat.

Eventually Kuroh stopped glaring at me and went back to eating his own food.

The four of us eating our fill.

Once we did each of us went to do our own thing.

I went for a swim, Atalanta decided to take a cat nap, Wave did some work on the Argo, and Kuroh went to explore the inner forest of the island.

For an hour everything was normal.

Until I saw Kuroh returned from the forest, holding a large dark-brown mango in his hands.

A devil fruit.

Seeing this I got out of the water and headed over to Kuroh. Examining the fruit in his hands. "Do you remember seeing something like this in the encyclopedia?" I asked him.

Since a while ago we managed to acquire a devil fruit encyclopedia.

Which helped us identify that devil fruit I found back in the East Blue when I met Atalanta.

Turns out its a devil fruit known as the Yume Yume No Mi (Dream Dream Fruit).

A paramecia-type devil fruit which allows the one who eats it to create and manipulate dreams. Making them a living paradise or a living hell. Which they can do either by touching a person and sending them into a dream-like state or entering a persons mind when they already asleep and dreaming.

So to say the devil fruit is strong is not a lie.

I have already dreamed up so many applications for its powers it's not even funny.

Which is not even including if someone manages to awaken the power of the fruit. That will grant them, which I suspect, is the power to turn dreams into reality or something along those lines.

With all that in mind there is no way my crew and I are ever getting rid of that devil fruit. Instead we'll keep it until we find someone we trust to consume it and gain its powers.

Since when I asked the others if they wanted to eat the fruit after we learned exactly what powers it would give they all said no.

Which is fine by me.

For I will never force my crewmates to do something they don't want to unless absolutely necessary.

To my question Kuroh shook his head. "No, I don't." He said.

"Well then let's stop standing around here and go see if we can find the fruit you find in the book." I spoke.

Kuroh nodding his head in agreement.

Once we did we returned to the Argo, gathered both Wave and Atalanta, got the devil fruit encyclopedia, and started looking through it to see if it contained an entry about the fruit Kuroh found in the forest.

After getting halfway through the encyclopedia we found what we were looking for.

"Okay, looks like the fruit Kuroh found is called the Senko Senko No Mi: (Blink Blink Fruit)." I spoke.

The entry in the encyclopedia informing us it is a paramecia-type devil fruit which will allows the one who eats it to be able to teleport to any place within their line of sight. The only limitation on how far they can travel via teleportation being their level of stamina. The entry also says when teleporting the person can bring objects and even other people with them.

'Well, looks like my crew and I once again hit the devil fruit jackpot.' I thought.

Since just like the Yume Yume No Mi (Dream Dream Fruit) the Senko Senko No Mi (Blink Blink Fruit) is a very powerful fruit.

For it basically gives the user the Instant Transmission ability from the Dragon Ball franchise.

Very nice.

Once the others and I finished reading the entry on the Senko Senko No Mi (Blink Blink Fruit) I closed the encyclopedia and looked at the others. "So, anyone want to eat this fruit, or do we keep it and save it like our other one?" I asked.

Since I've already made it clear to the others I will never eat a devil fruit.

But instead conquer the seas using haki.

Since haki is what is truly required to do so.

Even that suicidal drunk Kaido with his broken devil fruit admitted that if ones haki is not strong enough that conquering the seas is impossible.

So that's why I'll raise my haki to a level that is able to do just that.

But back to the main point.

"I don't want to eat the fruit." Wave spoke.

"Me neither." Atalanta said.

"Really, even though this is a fruit perfectly suited to a sniper like yourself?" I asked. Just like the Wapu Wapu No Mi (Warp Warp Fruit) that Van Augur eats in the future in the original story.

Though in this world he will never get the chance too because I plan on ending him along with the rest of his crewmates, and that fat fuck of a captain of his Teach the first chance I get.

Because leaving Blackbeard alive is a non-starter.

I don't want to have to deal with that pain the ass.

So Teach better enjoy the rest of his days from now on, because they are limited. Even if he doesn't know it.

--------------------------------

(3rd Person: POV)

Somewhere on the Grand Line aboard the Moby Dick Marshall D. Teach suddenly felt a shiver across his entire body.

But as quickly as it stated it ended.

Making Teach wondered just where that shiver came from and why?

(Achilles: POV)

"Even if the fruit is perfectly suited for someone like me I still do not wish to consume it. Especially since I like a good swim." Atalanta spoke.

"Alright then." I said. "So Kuroh, that just leaves you. What will it be?"

Kuroh looked at the fruit for a few seconds before looking at me. "I've decided, I want to eat it." He spoke.

"You sure?" I asked. "If you do you won't ever be able to swim ever again."

"Yeah, I'm sure." He replied without any hesitation.

"Okay. Have at it then." I said.

"Right." Kuroh replied. He then brought the fruit up to his mouth and took a big bite out of it.

*Gee!*

Which Kuroh then promptly spit out of his mouth. Spitting several times even after he had expelled all the fruit.

"Is, is the fruit really that bad tasting?" Wave asked.

"It was murdering my taste buds." Kuroh replied.

"I did warn you guys." I said.

For I have been teaching the others about devil fruits, from their different categories to general information about them like their horrible taste.

"Quiet you." Kuroh spoke.

I raised my hands in surrender.

Once I did so Kuroh focused back on the devil fruit. He then went in for another bit, but this time only took a small one.

He then quickly chewed it and swallowed it before dropping the rest of the fruit on the deck of the Argo.

"So, feel any different?" Atalanta asked.

"Not really." Kuroh replied. "I still feel the same."

"Try concentrating and using your powers." I spoke.

"Alright." Kuroh spoke.

We then watched as he looked at the other end of the deck of the Argo where the entrance to the lower decks of the ship was located. An intense look on his face.

Kuroh did this for several seconds, before he finally disappeared from right in front of our eyes and appeared near the entrance to the lower decks of the ship faster than the rest of us could blink.

Telling us he did indeed gain the power to travel instantaneously.

Turning to face us Kuroh flashed us a thumbs up.

Which all three of us promptly returned.

Happy for our friend.

Since now an entirely new world of possibilities has opened up for him.
