Survival Island

(next day)

(1st person pov)

I breathed in the chilly air with a refreshing smile on my face. Some things didn't change, and that included me waking up early to spend the time training. Productivity was a way of life, and I followed that way of life like a Religion.

I was especially excited today, as after 2 weeks of constant work and meetings, I finally had a week to spare which would be spent testing my new powers. Although I had learned the ability to shatter my body limits and shatter wounds away, I truly needed to understand how they worked, including its functions, drawbacks and features.

One thing I learnt during the fight with Crocodile was that my body was not up to par with my devil fruit abilities. Breaking my body limits puts too much strain on my body, making it a double edged sword on a time limit. The wound healing was the same, in the case that it consumed far too much stamina for me to rely on it in battle.

The stamina drain that came with my powers was never a big problem, as I believed I had sufficiently built up enough of it to not worry about overusing my powers or running out of breath, but now that wasn't the case.

One caused a large drop in stamina, while the other strained my body, which is exactly why i'll be spending the week using these powers to increase my stamina and reduce the strain on my body. Although my body was superhuman, it was still a ways to go before it reached a level anywhere close to the likes of Garp.

With those thoughts, I began to start to do some stretches before I started the tests. After a couple of minutes, I was ready to go.

I took a deep breath, relaxing my entire body. I focused on the feeling from before, the feeling before I activated my powers which allowed me to defeat Crocodile. I repeated the same thing I did before, spreading concentrations of shatter energy through my body.

Like last time, I felt my body scream in pain, but it was less painful than before. I opened my eyes and saw that my entire body was covered in a bright yellow glint and the veins around my body sparkled red.

With a slight tuck of my knees, I leaped into the air, feeling the ground crack beneath me.

"Woah…" A second later I was soaring 30 feet in air, giving me a full view of the headquarters and its surrounding areas.

Even as the sky got further away from my grasp, a feeling of ecstasy washed over me at the power high I was currently experiencing.

I threw a normal punch and felt the air snap beside me as a cloud of dust formed from the sheer power of the punch.

"Amazing…" I looked at my glowing red fist with a cheshire grin. During the heat of battle, I didn't realise this, but this form I was in made me much stronger! I couldn't say for certain how much stronger I was, but it was a significant boost compared to my base form, enough of a boost to change the tide of a losing battle.

It was then I realised something, that being that no matter how strong I got, this ability would always give me a boost in power.

Everyone's body had multiple limiters placed on them. These limiters could be broken with hard work and training, such as the case with Garp who has most likely broken through that barrier numerous times. However, even in his prime, Garp probably still had not reached the strongest his body could reach, and there were still limiters even the most hardened of veterans couldn't break through.

The power to shatter this invisible barrier, that was my power in its purest form. Even as I got stronger and broke through the stages, this power would still be viable and automatically unlock the next stage for me. Unless my body truly reached its peak, which I never believed it would, this ability and boost in strength would always be there for me.

I kept my powers activated despite the slight pain I felt spreading throughout my body. If I truly wanted to train my body and get accustomed to this power, I needed to keep it active as long as possible.

I gazed at a medium sized mountain off in the distance. With a slight grin, I dashed off the ground, leaving a spider web of cracks in my wake as I reveled in my newfound speed. I kicked the ground quicker, gaining a burst of speed as I blitzed through the open grey fields.

*BOOM*

Under the raw force of my punch, the mountain crumbled and broke almost immediately. Chunks of rock flew everywhere, and a large fist imprint was left in the foot of the mountain as the sturdy structure was destroyed almost effortlessly.

"Jesus…" Even I was shocked at the display of power, and I made a mental note to never use this power for spars with Sabo and Liam, at least not until I could control it.

I dispersed the shatter energy coursing through my veins, turning my body back to normal from the yellow glow around it. I took a few deep breaths, inspecting my body to see if anything broke or was damaged in my test.

Seeing everything was fine, I nodded towards myself and summoned a knife of glass, pointing it towards my hands.

"I'm not a masochist, I promise." I said to myself before I began creating small incisions around my body. I concentrated my powers around the cut and watched as they slowly began to heal.

I wiped the sweat that was beginning to form on my forehead, "Now to see if we can heal blunt wounds or damaged bones." I said grimly, regretting the pain and torment that was about to come.

===========================

"Where are you taking us?" Liam asked, sword resting at his hip.

It had been 1 week since Dragon's promise, and 6 days since August began exploring his new powers. In that time, he made more progress with his training than he usually did. With the new powers at his disposal, they could be used for training, more particularly training his body, stamina, and devil fruit.

He had finally caught a lucky break and could make some considerable power creeps without fighting to the death like he usually did.

Right now, August, Sabo and Liam were flying in the air, being carried by Dragon's wind in the form of a transparent solid construct shaped like a Dragon. August was unsure if Dragon was self aware.

Dragon sat at the front of the wind construct letting his observation expand as he tried to sense something. The Big Three as they were called were conversing in the back, wondering where they were going.

August shrugged at Liam's question, "Why don't we ask the man himself? Hey Dragon! Where are you taking us?"

Dragon stayed silent, not answering August's question and just sat there with his arms crossed. August grumbled from the back, while Sabo smiled and chimed in.

"Maybe he's taking us to a secret base, only known by those he likes the most."

"That might explain why Ivankov has never accidentally mentioned it." August replied, making Sabo and Liam laugh. Even Dragon smiled, though he would take it with him to the grave.

A few minutes later they finally arrived at their destination. Dragon suddenly stood up and turned around to look towards the 3 teenagers who were messing around.

[A/N: Liam is 19]

"Get ready. We're going down." Was all he said.

"Wait wh–AAAHHH" The large Dragon they had been sitting on seemingly vanished into thin air, causing the group's eyes to widen in shock as they descended through the clouds.

Just as they were about to hit the ground, August stopped his fall by summoning a glass umbrella, allowing him to slowly float down in style.

Sabo kicked the air just before he made contact, allowing him to safely land. On the other hand Liam sent out a wide arching sword slash as the force of the swing slowed his descent enough to land with no injuries.

As the three of them landed, Dragon was already standing there with his arms crossed.

"A little warning would be nice!" Liam practically shouted, making Dragon look at him.

"Hm? I did."

"A warning with delay!" Liam shouted back, practically foaming at the mouth.

"Hm?" Dragon picked his ear, "You say something?"

August and Sabo laughed as they could literally hear the veins form on Liam's forehead. If it was Dragon's goal to annoy Liam, then he had a perfect score.

"So why are we here?" Sabo asked, getting back on topic. Location wise, they had zero idea where they were located. It seemed Dragon was quite adamant in keeping this location secret, as Dragon's methods of travelling made it impossible to get a good read on where they were.

Looking around, they noticed the island was practically a barren wasteland. They watched with mild shock and discomfort as 2 animals came into distance, fighting each other.

What August guessed was a large Gorilla tussled with the equally large Lion, it looked like something out of Godzilla.

The entire group felt the aftershock as the Gorilla seemed to have finally gotten the upper hand and slammed the Lion to the ground. The Gorilla raised his fists and slammed them into the Lion's face, instantly turning them to mush.

As the Gorilla pulled his bloody fist out of the caved in skull, a disgusting looking mutated centipede crawled out the ground, using it's horn at the front of it's skull to put a hole through the Gorilla's chest.

The Centipede gnawed on the Gorilla's flesh, too distracted with the threat of flesh to notice a beaked bird swooping above it. The bird took advantage of this, nosediving to the ground and impaling the struggling centipede with it's tough beak.

To put it simply, it was chaos.

"Welcome to…Survival Island."

What had they gotten themselves into?
