22 Power Ups
"Let's put your newfound power to the test. Let's destroy some unfortunate pirates!"
"Hehehe! This is such an interesting new power, Kai once I master it, you'll be no match to me!" Kid confidently declared.
"In your dreams, you think you can beat just because you got a Devil Fruit?...Anyway before we go I want to try something out…" Kai reached into the chest and retrieved the Dials.
"Seashells?"
"They're called Dials" Kai proceeded to explain what Dials are to everyone.
"Interesting, I never knew about these," Bonney remarked, closely examining the Dials with curiosity. "But how do you know about them?"
"I know a lot," Kai replied before testing the Dials one by one to understand their types. Surprisingly, he found some powerful ones that could be used in combat: a Thunder Dial, a Flame Dial, two Heat Dials, a Water Dial, and a few Tone Dials.
'These could be very useful, I could equip my Hammer with the Thunder or the Flame Dial, the Water Dial could prove useful against Devil Fruit users' Kai thought, making his decision.
"Alright, I'll be using them"
The crew brought the treasure chest back to the ship and set sail once again.
A few days later,
The Victoria Punk sailed across the blue sea until another pirate ship appeared on the horizon. Its Jolly Roger featured a red skull with four legs on each side and crab pincers at the bottom.
Killer, steering the ship, halted and looked through the spyglass before alerting the others.
"We've got company!"
"What do you see?" Kid joined him, taking the spyglass to get a closer look. "Pirates…"
"Pirates?...*Grin*…perfect, do you recognize their Jolly Roger?" Kai, relaxing on the ship's deck, inquired about the Jolly Roger.
"Yes, I've seen them in the newspaper before, they are the Gyro Pirates led by 'Crab-Hand' Gyro" Killer identified. Kai instantly recalled them as the crew defeated by Hody Jones in Fish-Man Island, even though they had only briefly appeared in the manga.
"I don't give a damn who we're up against!! I'll send them all to hell!" Kid proclaimed, using his power to attract metal pieces to form a makeshift arm on his left side.
"Alright, let's approach them!" Kai gave order.
A few minutes later, the two pirate ships exchanged cannon shots as they sailed side by side. The Victoria Punk then closed in on the enemy ship, allowing Kai and the crew to leap onto the other side.
"Captain, they've boarded the ship!"
"It's the Eustass brothers!"
"Attack now! Don't let them retaliate!" Gyro commanded his crew. Gyro, a slender man with an oval face and a square nose, swiftly gave orders. He sported dark hair, a beard, a mustache, and an absence of a tooth. An eye-catching four-leaf clover design adorned the crown of his head. A massive crab claw had taken the place of his left hand.
As Kid stepped onto the Gyro Pirates' vessel, he harnessed his magnetic power, drawing metal fragments and enemy weaponry towards him, enlarging his makeshift arm.
"More! MORE!"
"What's with that guy?"
"Metal pieces are flying to him like a magnet!"
"Eat this!" Kid immediately leaped in the air and then slammed his metallic arm into Gyro and his men, crushing them down.
"Punk Gibson!!"
*BOOOOOM* A deafening blast crushed several of Gyro's men, leaving Gyro himself heavily wounded. Spitting blood, he staggered to his feet.
"What sort of power is that?!" Gyro exclaimed, his face etched with shock and a trace of terror. Unnoticed by Gyro, another figure had boarded the ship—Kai.
"Don't forget about me!" Kai announced, activating the Thunder Dial attached to his hammer, imbuing it with lightning. Wielding Mjölnir two-handed, he jumped into the air and quickly spun his weapon above his head. He then, while descending, swung his hammer down with great force, smashing Gyro into the ground. "Destroyer of The World…."
"…Ragnarök!!"
*Lightning*-*Lightning*
"WHAT--?!!--*BOOOOM*-!!!" With a mighty swing, Kai smashed Gyro into the ground, rendering him unconscious at the spot.
"Captain Gyro!!!" Gyro's remaining crew stared in shock as their captain fell.
Kai pivoted toward them, and then focused his energy and strength into his legs in order to use a new technique he learned recently. He spent the past years training and improving his leg strength for the sole purpose of learning this technique.
Although he still can't control himself very well, it was enough for now. Kai focused his strength on his legs and then he proceeded to kick off the ground ten times in an instant, vanishing and reappearing in front of the pirates.
<Soru>
*SWOOOSH* The onlookers were stunned, even Kid taken aback by his brother's newfound skill.
Once Kai closed the distance, he quickly activated the Flame Dial attached in his left wrist and unleashed a powerful fire blast towards them.
"Fire Fist!!"
"GYAAH!!—AGHH!!" The pirates cried out in agony as flames consumed them before Kai finished them off with his lightning-infused hammer.
Following the clash, the crew looted the ship before setting it ablaze, departing thereafter.
"Hey, Kai! Teach me that technique from earlier!" Kid eagerly approached Kai.
"Which one?" Kai feigned ignorance.
"Don't play games with me! The one where you disappeared and reappeared again in a blink of an eye!"
"Oh, that one…"
"Faffaffaffa! You're both are getting stronger by the day. I can't afford getting lazy or I'll never catch up to you" Killer chimed in, flexing his Punishers.
"Kid, your new power is cool, I'm jealous!" Heat remarked.
"Man, I which I could eat a strong Devil Fruit like you two" Wire added.
"Hahaha, with this new power, nothing will stand against me—THUD!" Kai, suddenly behind Kid, punched his head. Kid yelped in pain, his anger rising as he turned toward Kai.
"What the hell was that for?!"
"Don't get cocky, you're still a nobody!" Kai scolded him as he grabbed him by the collar "The worst thing a pirate can do is overestimate his power, against the wrong opponent that would be basically suicide…"
"…It is true that you have gain a huge boost of power after eating a Devil Fruit, but you're still far from invincible so instead of bragging and getting cocky, go train instead"
"Tsk, you always know how to kill the fun" Kid said before he walked away.
"Wasn't that a bit harsh?" Killer queried.
"If he doesn't understand that the easy way, he will one day in the hard way"

For the next two years, the Eustass Pirates will rampage in the South Blue. Traveling from island to island, facing both pirates and marines and destroying anyone who gets in their way. Their actions managed to earn them the highest active Bounties in South Blue and they became widely known across the South Blue, making significant impact on the sea. (I'm trying to make them enter the Grand Line at the same time Luffy starts his journey, so they could be part of the Worst Generation once they reach Sabaody Archipelago, also they could take their time and improve their skills to be ready for the Grand Line dangers)

During these two years, Kai relentlessly trained, using Marine ships as punching bags when possible and mountains when not.
He also recently started doing the Observation Haki training along with Kid where they blindfold themselves and try to dodge attacks, although Kid was skeptical about the training at first but seeing that Kai's training routines have all been successful up till now, he decided to go with it. But they are still no results so far.
[South Blue, Minami Island]
Minami Island's coastline appeared on the horizon. It was the final stop for pirates to resupply before entering the Grand Line, situated nearest to Reverse Mountain.
"Kai, are you serious about leaving South Blue?" Killer questioned Kai while standing beside him near the ship's prow.
"The marines have been going after us like crazy recently!" Bonney mentioned.
"I agree with Kai, there are no challenges if we stay in this sea, it will be a waste of time" Kid walked out of the captain's cabin and joined them "It's time for us to take the real challenge"
Kai observed the island calmly before he spoke "It's time to leave South Blue and enter the Grand Line"
