Monkey Battle...

Chapter 6

Title: Monkey Battle...

As soon as Garp says that Ace will be training to become a marine, the latter's face cringes as if he just ate a sour lemon.

Garp sees this and cracks his knuckles. "What's with that face brat?!"

"No… nothing is wrong." Says Ace as he whistles to the side. This wasn't fooling Garp at all who looks at Ace and narrows his eyes.

"Marines suck." Says Ace straight out. Garp gets annoyed by this and he kicks off the ground.

Fwosh!

He appears on top of the tiger where Ace was sitting and grabs him by the top of his head. 

Fwosh!

Once more Garp is back to where he was in a split second.  "What did you say brat? I think I didn't hear you?"

Ace looks at Garp uncaringly and says. "Oh, then you must be getting senile old man."

Garp hears this and he can't help it but be annoyed at this. He tightens the grip on Ace's head. "Ow! Ow! Ow!... stop it old man!"

Garp narrows his eyes at Ace, but suddenly he hears an angry growl. He looks at Ace's pet tiger and sees that the animal is about to attack him. 

"I wouldn't do that if I was you little kitty." Advises Garp, his face truthful. He was advising the animal to not attack him or it would regret it.

*ROAR* The elephant-sized tiger didn't listen as it charged with full power at Garp. The tiger has known Ace only for some months. But he couldn't let Ace be hurt by some random person. Ace took care of it, fed it, gave it baths and even brushed its teeth.

As the tiger charged, Garp sighs and just points his palm at the creature.

Baam!

The tiger crashes at Garp's palm, but Cat (the tiger) feels like it hit an immovable object and it is knocked out by its own charge as Garp didn't move from his place.

As Ace sees this his eyes tear up and he starts crying. "Noooo… Cat is dead!"

Of course, he knows that the animal is alive, but acting this way is more fun for him. He doesn't have a lot of ways to entertain himself so he does this. Acting comedic and dramatic so he can see the expression the other people make once they see him act like this.

"Okay let's go and train now." Says Garp as he puts Ace on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"Noooo… we can't leave Cat behind." Whines Ace and Garp just sighs at this and grabs the bug tiger by its tail and drags it along.

"Nooo… You are hurting him by doing that." Whines Ace once more.

This time Garp just bops Ace on the head and says. "Stop it."

"Okay, I will stop now." Says Ace now completely obediently. His crocodile tears went away as he just looked at the ground bored.

….

A while later, Ace was put down in another part of the forest and Garp decides to sit on top of the unconscious tiger.

*whistle* Garp whistles and immediately some monkey noises are heard as two monkeys appear. They look at Garp and scratch their head confused.

Garp then points at the monkey and says to Ace. "Fight them."

-Ace POV-

I look at the two monkeys in front of me, they are about my size. They have light brown fur and red faces. I don't know how strong they are as I know that judging someone's strength by their muscle size could be incorrect. After all, I am a prime example of that. Though I am no great monster, I can see how strong one can become with training in this world.

I can drag a bunch of dead boars up the mountain by myself now. It shows how efficient training can be in this world. 

Pow!

As I am thinking that I feel a punch hit my face and fly a little off the ground and land a foot or two away.

I immediately get up and see that the monkeys are in a boxing stance. They punch the air repeatedly, they are showing off with smiles on their faces.

I copy their boxing stance too, I have almost no prior martial knowledge from my first life that didn't involve anime. 

I see one of the monkey's charges at me and once it tries to punch me, I easily dodge it and am about to counter-attack.

I might not know fighting, but I know medicine, and if I hit someone in the chin with a fast and powerful jab in their chin then it will rocket their brain in their skull… knocking them out.

Pow!

I feel another punch hit me on the face and I crash into a tree. 

Huh? Oh… I see it was the other monkey that punched me while I was concentrating on punching the other monkey. I run my tongue on the inside of my mouth and don't feel anything hurt nor the taste of blood. It seems like I took no damage from their punches.

"Boooo~ you suck!" Shouted Garp at me. 

But I am not bothered by any of that as I am concentrating on the monkeys in front of me.

One of the monkey's charges at me again, but this time I charge at him too. The monkey is surprised by that, and I use that surprise to my advantage and swipe the feet under it.

He tumbles and is about to fall back, I immediately look for when the 2nd monkey's attack will come. 

Whipish!

But I feel a slight sting on my cheek and look at the monkey who was falling on the ground… and see that he used its tail to hit me.

Damn… I am kinda getting annoyed being bested by monkeys. Their fighting instincts are amazing too. But I shouldn't make excu-

Baam!

I felt the other monkey's fist hit my cheek and my hand moved by itself and grasped the monkey's wrist. I then backhand the monkey.

Pow!

I look at its face as his eyes roll to the back of his head. I just let him drop down and go to fight against the monkey on the ground who hasn't gotten up yet. I see that it wants to get up as I approach him, but I step on its tail and kick him in the face.

Pow!

This monkey is knocked out too. They were more agile than me and had good fighting instincts. I was stronger than them, so I just waited for them to hit me and I grasped their limbs, then it didn't matter how agile or how good their instincts were, they couldn't dodge.

I look at Garp and I see him smiling at me. I just raise a fist in the air. "Hehe… they were weak."

Though I said that kinda arrogantly, I am already planning on how to try and train my agility. Maybe I should try fighting animals like monkeys some more? Yeah, I will definitely start fighting some more animals soon. I can't let myself be mediocre, my goal is to be able to casually one-shot a bear to death by the age of five.

"Hmmm… monkeys don't seem to be too much of a challenge against you. Then how about a jungle?" Questions Garp as he smiles on his face and that is when Cat wakes up.

I point at Cat and ask. "Can I take him with me?"

"No!" Answers Garp resolutely.

This is gonna suck...

AUTHOR NOTE:

As we see the MC has zero fighting experience from his past life. He is outmaneuvered by simple monkeys in the beginning, until he got used to their tactics that is.
