Chapter 26: "Devil Child" Accquired
(Roberts: POV)
I have to say seeing Nico Robin make the stunned Pikachu face is quite strange.
In the manga/anime most of the time she was depicted as a intelligent cool beauty who was rarely shocked by almost any situation. So it's nice to see she has a side like this to her as well.
I also admit it makes her look quite cute.
Robin continued wearing her stunned expression for another few seconds until eventually she dropped it and regained her composure.
"I see. So you want me to be part of your pirate crew?" She asked me. Once again in an many minutes.
"Yep, that's right." I replied. "If you do I promise I, no the entire crew will protect you. We'll go to the depths of hell and back for you. No matter who or what tries to stand in our way." I seriously said.
Looking Robin directly in the eyes as I did so.
"And what happens should I refuse your offer?" She asked.
"Then we let you go and never bother you again. Simple as that." I retorted.
After I did so Robin looked at me with an analyzing gaze. Most likely trying to discern if I am telling the truth or not. Unfortunately she won't be able too. Keeping a poker face I eventually answered Robins' gaze with a cheeky smile.
"Hey, I know I'm a good looking but if you keep staring at me like that I might get the wrong idea you know. I am in a relationship after all." I spoke to Robin.
As I did so she quickly stopped staring at me.
I then chuckled at her expense.
"Oi Roberts, stop teasing her." Alfia spoke.
"Yes dear." I replied.
As I did so Robin turned to face Alfia and Weisz.
"So, are you two apart of Mr. narcissist crew?" Robin asked them.
"Hey, I take a offense to that." I said. Grabbing my chest and feigning some pain. "I may consider myself good looking but I am not that shallow or vain."
"Yes, we are apart of his crew." Weisz said.
The three of them having completely ignored my statement just now.
As they did I dropped into a crouch and started rubbing a finger from my left hand back and forth across the stone ground. "So cruel." I muttered.
Wiping a fake tear away from my right eye using my right hand.
"In addition to being part of his crew I am also that idiots lover." Alfia bluntly told Robin.
"I see." Robin replied. "And you trust your captain?"
'With my life." Weisz immediately answered.
"Yes. I'd die for him and kill for him if he asked me." Alfia spoke.
As they did so I shot back up to my feet and rubbed the back of my head, putting an embarrassed expression on my face as I did so. "Ah, you guys. Stop it. You're making me blush."
"Shut up you woman monopolizer!" Weisz shouted at me.
"Don't get so full of yourself due to a single compliment!" Alfia added.
Both of them with hints of pink on their cheeks as they shouted at me.
Looks like I'm slowly creating some tsundere's on my crew.
Robin laughed at our interaction. He then turned to face me. "Well I've decided. I'll join our crew."
"Glad to have you aboard." I spoke.
"Thanks for the welcome captain." Robin replied.
Once she did so we start to make our way back to the Black Pearl.
Having acquired the rare and elusive archeologist Nico Robin.

It didn't take us any time to return to the Black Pearl.
Once we did so I introduced Robin to the rest of the crew.
As they all got to know each other Weisz, Alfia, and I set the Black Pearl sailing again.
Then after we did so and after the others and Robin finished introducing themselves to each other I declared we were having a welcome party for Robin.
Which everyone happily agreed too.

(3rd Person: POV)
As the full moon hung in the sky Nico Robin sat in a chair next to a small round table.
On the deck of the Black Pearl she watched as the Thanatos pirates ate, drank, and laughed together. Smiles on their faces.
Seeing this Robin could tell the pirate crew genuinely cared about each other. Like some sort of family.
Which is why she was already preparing herself mentally and emotionally to to get too attached to them.
Because once they were learned of her past and the pain and terror she would bring along with her if she stayed aboard their ship the Thanatos pirates would abandon her, just like so many other had. Then on the off chance they didn't abandon her Robin would abandon them.
Since even though they were pirates they seemed like good people.
Given her life since she was eight years old Robin had developed the ability to judge people within a few seconds to a few minutes after meeting them. A skilled that had saved her life on more than one occasion over her many years on the run.
It was thanks to this skill that Robin knew the Thanatos pirates truly were not out for her life, and that they genuinely wanted to help her.
That's why she agreed to join them.
If only to get a bit of protection and some breathing room.
But Robin knew this couldn't last.
'I can't let them be consumed by the darkness I carry.' Robin thought. 'I can't let them end up dead do to me.'
As these dark thoughts rolled around in Robin's head she kept a perfect fake smile plastered on her face.
Doing her best to get a small amount of enjoyment from the party the crew threw in her honor.
Little did Nico Robin know her plans of departing the crew would never come to fruition.

A/N: Hope you enjoyed this chapter. I wanted to show Robin is still afraid and a bit self-deprecating given how she's lived her life up until now.
She'll slowly grow to truly trust the crew in due time. But I will make it gradual for the most part.
I hope I do a good job in doing so. As well as growing Robin's relationship with Roberts.
