Guided Dr. Vegapunk, they made their way to a different part of the sprawling laboratory complex.

It was there that Brontes stumbled upon a scene that took his breath away: a group of massive creatures locked in a fierce battle. It was clear that these animals had been genetically modified; their original forms were nowhere to be seen, replaced by terrifying new shapes and an overwhelming display of power.

The floor beneath them was littered with the fallen, a grim testament to the ferocity of their struggle.

"These creatures have been enhanced with cellular implants. We've experimented not just with animals, but with humans as well. The outcomes, however, were not what we expected." Dr. Vegapunk said.

"What kind of outcomes?" Brontes asked curiously.

"The lifespan of the subjects was drastically reduced. Those who managed to integrate Kaido's cells without rejection faced a severe decline in their life force. The weaker individuals... they barely survived the procedure. Animals, with their inherent resilience, proved to be more suitable hosts." Dr. Vegapunk explained, gesturing towards the chaotic battle below.

Brontes began to piece together the story. A year earlier, he had delivered a sample of Kaido's flesh to Dr. Vegapunk. With his groundbreaking research, Dr. Vegapunk had not only cloned Kaido's blood but also managed to sustain the life of that flesh sample.

Driven by a scientist's insatiable curiosity, Dr. Vegapunk delved into the mysteries of Kaido's body, intrigued by the potential of his formidable cellular properties.

His goal was to see if these cells could be transplanted into other beings to enhance their strength. Despite numerous setbacks and continuous refinement, the process was still imperfect.

"So, why did you ask me to come here?" Brontes questioned.

"It's quite simple. I intend to transplant Kaido's cells into you." Dr. Vegapunk replied, a hint of excitement in his smile.

Brontes's eyes widened in alarm at the suggestion. He had no intention of trading his life for more power. His own strength was already at the pinnacle, and he believed that with continued training of his Haki, he could reach, or even surpass, the legendary Whitebeard.

The idea of risking his life for an uncertain gain was out of the question.

"I won't..." Brontes started to object, but Dr. Vegapunk interrupted him with a shake of his head.

"Hear me out. Your physique is extraordinary, unlike any ordinary person's. I had you demonstrate your lightning abilities because I needed to confirm whether your body is compatible with the cell transplant." Dr. Vegapunk clarified.

"Cell Transplantation?!" Brontes echoed, taken aback by his words.

"Let's go. Everything should be set up by now." Dr. Vegapunk said, leading Brontes back to the heart of the laboratory.

There, a team of researchers and scientists were busily working on their equipment, their fingers flying over the controls.

Before long, the results of their tests were printed out and compiled by one of the scientists.

"Chief, the test results are in, and they're better than we anticipated. There are no complications." The scientist reported with a palpable excitement, handing over the stack of results to Dr. Vegapunk.

"Let's have a look." Dr. Vegapunk said, taking the papers and meticulously examining each one.

After reviewing the results, Dr. Vegapunk turned to Brontes with a look of satisfaction. "The tests are conclusive, and there are no issues whatsoever. Your body's condition is exceptional, surpassing that of an average human by a factor of ten thousand. It's likely due to the powers you've gained from the Rumble-Rumble Fruit; your cellular structure is remarkable. Your cells' strength, capacity, metabolic rate, and compatibility are all beyond normal human levels. You're the best candidate for accepting Kaido's cells. Now, we just need to ensure the blood types are compatible." Dr. Vegapunk handed the stack of papers to Brontes for his own inspection.

Brontes scanned the documents. Although the scientific jargon was dense, the comparisons made it clear: his physical condition was indeed ten thousand times superior to that of an ordinary person. This wasn't about sheer strength but rather his body's innate capabilities.

The prospect of acquiring Kaido's Undying, Indestructible Body was a powerful incentive.

It reminded Brontes of characters from the Naruto series, like the First Hokage, Hashirama, whose cells had been transplanted into others with significant effects.

Kaido's cells, brimming with ferocious vitality, seemed almost tailor-made to complement Brontes's lightning powers.

The potential to break through his current limitations was alluring, and Dr. Vegapunk was no ordinary scientist; he wouldn't propose such an experiment without a high degree of confidence in its success.

"What do we need to do for the transplant?" Brontes asked with a hint of excitement in his voice.

"It's simple. We'll use your blood to nourish and adapt Kaido's cells. Once we've transformed the cells with your blood, we can begin the transplant, starting with a part of your body, such as an arm." Dr. Vegapunk said.

The cell transplantation process was intricate and would require time. In the interim, Brontes continued his daily routine, focusing on his Haki training, which he realized could still bolster his strength despite its slow progress.

...

Three years after the legendary pirate Roger's death, a new crew ventured into the Grand Line.

The Red-Haired Pirates, led by Shanks, had set sail from the East Blue. Though Shanks himself hailed from the West Blue, his journey began in the East.

At this stage, the Red-Haired Pirates were not yet well-known, much like the future Buggy Pirates. With the New World teeming with formidable pirates, a fledgling crew hardly drew attention.

Yet Shanks was no ordinary pirate. By thirty-nine, he was already considered a peer of the world's most powerful, his might on par with Whitebeard, one of the future Four Emperors.

Even after losing an arm, Shanks's strength was such that he could stand toe-to-toe with Whitebeard himself.

...

In the midst of these shifting tides, a month later, Brontes was called to action. The research had borne fruit: the Kaido cells, now sustained by Brontes's blood, had survived and were compatible.

This groundbreaking procedure was kept under wraps, unknown to the World Government and the Marines. The project was a private collaboration between Brontes and Dr. Vegapunk, who went to great lengths to maintain its secrecy, using his position at Punk Hazard as a shield.

Upon receiving word from Dr. Vegapunk, Brontes set out for Punk Hazard without delay.

Lying on the operating table, it was Brontes's left arm that was designated for the initial transplant.

This first step was a trial; if successful, they would extend the treatment to his entire body. A potent anesthetic rendered his arm numb as a team of the world's most skilled doctors began the meticulous procedure on his left arm.

Brontes had to let go of the Armament Haki that he had kept active for over a year. If he didn't, the surgeons' blades wouldn't stand a chance against his tough skin. Even with the Haki deactivated, the doctors found it challenging to make incisions; Brontes's skin was naturally very tough. It was only by willingly lowering his defenses that they could proceed with the operation.

The surgery involved opening Brontes's arm and carefully integrating Kaido's cells into the tissue. Once the procedure was complete, they stitched up the incision, and Brontes's arm was placed in a sling.

He looked somewhat like Danzo from the stories, albeit a more handsome version.

"How does it feel?" Dr. Vegapunk asked, looking at Brontes expectantly.

"It's not bad. I'm still adjusting, but I can already feel my arm growing stronger. I'll know more about how effective this is once my arm completely healed." Brontes replied with a smile.

"The surgery was a complete success, and the cell fusion went perfectly. If there's no rejection and full integration is achieved, we can move forward with the full-body cell transplant." Dr. Vegapunk said.

"Here's to a smooth process." Brontes said with a big smile.

He could feel an unusual new power coursing through his left hand. Once the cells were fully assimilated, he would understand the full extent of the enhancement provided by Kaido's cells.

Returning to the G-1 base with his arm in a sling, Brontes's body was healing at an astonishing rate.

The marines at the base were curious about his condition but refrained from questioning him—Brontes was an Admiral, after all.

...

By the next day, Brontes noticed that his arm was nearly healed, displaying a regenerative ability akin to Kaido's legendary resilience.

After his continuous training, Brontes had shattered his previous physical limitations. His body was now far from what could be considered ordinary.

The following day, Brontes went alone into his training area to test out his newly enhanced arm.

When he came out, the training room was a scene of devastation. Logistics soldiers arriving to clean up were shocked at the destruction. The floor was pockmarked with holes from his punches, some alarmingly large.

"Hahaha! Fantastic, I'm ready for the full-body cell transplant." Brontes said excitedly, his laughter echoing as he stood by the sea.

He had never anticipated that he would become stronger through such means. His partnership with Dr. Vegapunk had endowed him with Kaido's cells, and even though it was just his left arm for now, Brontes could tell that its strength had increased at least twofold.

For someone already at his level, doubling his strength was like reaching the summit of the highest peak.

With this newfound power, Brontes felt confident that he could now go toe-to-toe with Kaido, perhaps even overpower him.
