9 Ch 9 : Performance

After asking Kaya if she knows magic, Nate begins his play.

"Long time ago, in the far, far away world-" Nate said with Honedge flying all over him.

"This...," Kaya said blankly as she witnessed the magical scene in front of her.

She never thought the performance would be this interesting. The flying sword aside, the story itself has its own unique charm. But adding the flying sword with it, the two complemented each other so well, and the level of the story increased to a whole another level.

"The knight, to save the princess from the curse, tries to battle the Demon King.." Nate said as he waved the Honedge like in a great struggle against a Demon King.

Some clapped with their hands. It was very entertaining; it was their first time hearing a story like this.. Even Kaya watched with interest. But the amazing show was far from over.

The journey of the knight from below to the top had caught the attention of everyone, and without them noticing, Nate has already ended the story.

"Okay, that's all for today's story."

"Never once in my life, I thought I would be able to hear something this romantic..." Kaya said as she wiped her wet eyes. How can such a story exist, the princess in the story, how lucky she was to find such a gallant knight...

"How do you feel " Merry ignored the people behind him and asked her, he saw the change in Kaya's eyes, and somehow he felt a glimmer of hope.

"I feel a bit better," Kaya replied with a cheerful expression, but behind it, there was a trace of loneliness. "by the way, who are you?"

Nate saw his chance, so he took her hand and gave it a kiss:"My name is Nate"

"I'm Kaya, by the way; from where did you come? and how do you know those kinds of stories?" Kaya blushed as she felt the kiss on her slender hand. However, it was a custom of noble, and she didn't think much of it. Rather than that, she was more curious about Nate's background.

Nate smiled as he kept looking into her eyes, he answered all her questions, and the two began to chat like good friends.

Merry saw how his young mistress face changed and signaled to the guards. It seems that bringing Nate here was truly the right choice.

After some time, Nate decided to leave. After all, the two had just met today, and it would be improper if he was to stay in Kaya's bedroom for too long. He walked out of Kaya's bedroom only to be stopped by Merry.

" How is she?" asked Mary.

"Well, she seemed more cheerful now. It seemed that she really enjoyed the story, " replied Nate with a smile.

Hearing Nate's response, Merry fell silent for a while, but eventually he steeled himself and said:

" Nate, I have a request. Can you stay here for a while and accompany the young lady with your story?"

Merry didn't know why, but his intuition told him that Nate would not stay here forever and soon would widen his wing to roam the world.

"Wel... If it's for the young lady," Nate replied.

"I see. In this case, I can prepare you a room here."

For the next four days, Nate spent his days in Kaya's mansion. He came in contact with Kuro, but Nate still didn't rush.

If his guess was not wrong, it wouldn't be long until the chance came to him.

Nate spent these days getting closer with Kaya. The conversation they had would get longer as they got to know each other; also, Kaya got to know that every time she was with Nate, her mood was always better, and she somehow felt her health had improved a bit.

On the fifth day, Lucas was alone in Kaya's room as they were chatting.

"Thank you for doing this," Kaya said, looking to Nate with eyes full of gratitude for her who had lost hope in life. Nate's appearance felt like giving a breath of fresh air to her.

"It's my duty to help a beauty in need," Nate said with a smile, only to get Kaya blushing.

Nate felt like the relationship between the two was close enough, so now was the right time to reveal the wolf hidden in the pack of sheep.

"Kaya, Do you trust me, "Nate said as he held both of her hands.

" yes," Kaya nodded, she was only 15 years old at this time, and it was the age where a girl is most naive.

"What if I say that I have doubts that your butler Klahadore is a hidden pirate who is planning to murder everyone here," Nate said with a serious expression.

Kaya heard him, and her face turned shocked. She always thought of Kuro as her family member, and obviously, she wouldn't believe this. But on the other side was Nate, the man that made her heart very happy and gave her that new hope in life.

Kaya was in a very awkward situation right now. She didn't know who to trust, but in the end, she tried to change the topic by treating Nate's words as a joke.

"No way, Don't tell me that you already met with Usopp, he must be the one who told you so, even though his stories are fun, but sometimes he may go overboard with his lies, so don't take him seriously."

Nate sighed. He lifted his hand and flicked on her forehead, making her blush:" Naive girl, How about we make a bet. If I'm wrong, then I will do one request of yours."

"Okay, but I tell you that Klahadore is clean" Kaya felt very interested in this bet. Somehow, her heart began to grow expectant for the time where Nate would fulfill one of her requests.
