22 Ch22
"In simple words, this world is a pirate/marine world, just like your world is a Hero/villain world," Dan said before a serious look appeared as he said his following words, "And why were you all brought into this world is a trick question."
"I am sure most of you will not handle this well. So I am asking you all again, do you still want me to answer this?" Dan asked ominously.
But the DC heroes didn't take it seriously at all, as they all were confident that they would not be effective no matter the circumstances.
Seeing this, Dan simply shrugs, "It's not my concern as long as you're all confident enough."
"You all are here for a straightforward reason, to annoy me," He said calmly while relaxing in his chair.
"..."
"..."
The whole DC squad became speechless after hearing his claim.
Despite expecting many dangerous or strange reasons, they never imagined they were here for this reason.
After a few seconds, Wally was the one that broke the silence, "... Excuse me, maybe my ears are not working properly...since I got here, surely we wouldn't be called here, just be an annoyance, right?"
Dan just gave him a flat look, and that said everything.
"No, you heard it right, Wally. The only reason he brought you all here is to annoy me enough to contact him."
Meanwhile, a look of realization appeared on the rest of the team members. This was because they all heard the same voice that told them about the mission at the start, agreeing with him.
"You are... Daniel Specter, right?"
"Yeah, that's my name," Dan replied with a soft smile, "but the question is, what will you all do now?"
"Because he and I had already sorted our situation, and he had to back off from my life as long as I didn't break the promise," Dan explained as that smile turned into a grin as he continued, "but when I asked him about you all, he just said, 'figure it out yourself.'"
"He clearly doesn't have any expectations for you all. And most importantly, he already got what he wants."
"So, now, what will you all do?"
"Go against me and become the attack dog of the being that brought you here, or join me and help me to fulfill my dream?"
"Choose is your...but remember you can only choose once."
"So choose wisely because your answer will decide your future now."
After saying that, he relaxed again on his chair, showing a complete lack of care regarding the situation, like whatever they chose would not have an effect on him.
Meanwhile, his words have caused a storm in everyone's minds.
Each of them knows about the mission that gives them hope of returning to their world. It simply sounded like a task that required them to either support Daniel Specter in completing his goal or oppose and capture him.
Thankfully, they did not choose one of the options right away, as all these things have changed many of their thoughts about the whole situation.
A few of them were confused and were unsure of which path to choose, an easy or a hard one, but in the end, they decided to wait and see before making any decisions.
But some of them have already decided which path to follow and why to follow. In their minds, they are either strong enough or smart enough to complete the mission and return home safely, no matter who stands in their way.
Still, whether they are capable of doing it is an entirely different thing.
"I see some of you have already made the decision even before meeting me, right?" Dan said humorously when he spotted Robin reaching toward his utility belt after confirming he was their target. The other members also became tense when they saw him moving.
"I had some doubts before, but after meeting you, I don't think anyone here would disagree with me," Robin said while sneakily taking out some items from his utility belt.
"I know you are a type of person. You think everyone is just a tool for you to use to further your goals. You will kill anyone without remorse if that helps you accomplish your goal," Robin continues to visualize how horrible he is and how many crimes he has committed before...blah.blah.
Except for two gazes, almost everyone looked at him with open hostility.
"So, why would I help someone like you in completing whatever nefarious goals you have?"
When his speech ended, Dan was looking at him with the same laid-back look on his face, as if his speech had no effect on him, but the truth was far from that.
'Who the hell does he think he is to judge me for trying to survive in this accused world?' Dan thought while barely holding himself back from lashing out at him.
He really wants to grab his head and crush it like a watermelon or tear his chest apart with his tail blade. However, he stops himself and tries to eliminate those thoughts and anger.
And the only reason he could control his anger was that for the first time since he got into this world, he had some resemblance of control over his life. He was at peace for the first time because he knew his victory was assured from the start.
But one could argue that Henry's situation was under his control. He was indeed in control to some extent. He planned all of it.
Still, that control only extended to the plan, and everything else was flying over him at that time. His plan ended with a hail of bullets flying toward him.
But here, he knew that as long as he didn't attack first, he would win without even lifting a finger.
So, Dan simply looked at him for a few moments before bursting into fits of fake laughter, "Dahahaha!"
"What are you laughing at?" Robin asked while frowning. He didn't know why, but he did not have a good feeling about his laughter.
"Oh, nothing...it's just your joke...was so funny that I couldn't stop laughing."
This enraged Robin even more as he was now barely holding himself back from attacking him immediately.
But Dan didn't stop as he wanted them to attack him. "Oh, the little sidekick is angry? Maybe I should call Bat..."
In mid-speech, Dan tilts his head to the side as a batarang passes by his head.
"That wasn't nice," Dan said with a lazy smile as he felt the promise being broken by Robin.
Immediately Dan sent instructions to his new/first slave, 'No screaming or telling them about this now, just continue to fight me as if nothing had happened.'
Meanwhile, after the first attack, Robin suddenly froze for a second as his body refused to move, feeling like he had no control over his body.
Then he heard a familiar voice in his head telling him what to do and what not to do. To his absolute horror, his body immediately began to follow them.
He wanted to scream and tell his teammates to run away. However, as his new 'Master' has instructed his body, he can't even open his mouth to scream, let alone warn them.
He can only attack him with everything he got. Still, somehow he also knows that even thinking of harming his 'Master' will make him lose control of his body.
As Robin engages with Dan in a close combat fight, it becomes apparent in a single exchange that the only reason Dan is not lying on the floor right now is because of his superior physique and Robin being his 'slave.'
For every punch he throws, Robin lands five, and this continues as the rest of his team also attacks him from different angles.
Still, they quickly froze for a second after launching their first attack before continuing to attack him.
As the fight continues for a few more seconds before Dan quickly glances at Zatanna, who is still standing in her initial position with an amused look on her face.
"Are you done showing off now?" Zatanna asked innocently when she saw him looking.
