10 Changing Tides

Third Person P.O.V

A few hours later everyone from Shanks's crew was gathered at Partys bar, drinking and partying. Makino was serving them drinks in mugs. The villagers didn't come close to the bar, fearing they might accidentally provoke the pirates. Mori and Luffy were sitting on the bar stools beside Shanks, drinking juice.

"So what are you guys doing here in East Blue? Pirates like you aren't usually seen in East Blue, the weakest sea of all seas." Mori asked Shanks in a nonchalant tone.

"Oh nothing much, relaxing for a while before setting sail again." Shanks replied in an awkward manner before thanking Makino, who handed him over a mug of Beer.

"You are unusually strong for your age. Who is training you?" He asked back, curiosity present in his face.

Mori chuckled awkwardly before replying, "Grandpa teaches us a thing or two when he returns home to see us."

"Grandpa? Do you mean Garp? So are you planning to become a Marine?" Shanks asked amusement present in his voice.

"Nah! That life isn't for me. I am a free-spirited guy. I want to set sail to the vast seas and enjoy life out there." Mori replied in an enthusiastic voice.

....

"Shanks, who is your vice-captain? Every captain must have a vice-captain right." Luffy interrupted our conversation with an excited tone. Shanks grinned and pointed to a man who was playing cards with some other crew members.

"He is Benn Beckman, my first mate." Shanks introduced him.

Beckman is a tall man, standing at a height of 206cm. His hair is now gray, medium-length, and slicked-back. He also now has a large, X-shaped scar on his left temple. He is never seen without his rifle nearby or a cigarette in his mouth.

He wears a black, v-neck shirt with three quarter sleeves along with loose pants with numerous pockets on them, tucked inside his buckled boots. Like most of the other Red Hair Pirates, he wears a sash around his waist, to which he attaches his rifle in a pistol-like fashion. The only thing added to his attire is his spiral-patterned cloak.

The man in question looked at Luffy with a grin.

He made a pistol like jesture with his fingers. Luffy grinned back at him. He chukkled at Luffy then went back to playing cards.

"One thing about him is, that he is a Playboy and loves women. I mean who doesn't, right guys." Shanks asked his crew, who laughed back at his joke.

....

"One day I'm gonna have a crew just like you guys" Luffy looked at Shanks' cheerful crew and said with enthusiasm. Shanks looked at him with amusement.

"Oh really? You wanna be a pirate too?" Shanks asked. Luffy grinned and nodded.

"But I don't wanna be just any pirate. I will be the King of the Pirates" Luffy declared. Everyone was in awe at his declaration but then suddenly all of them started laughing.

"Dahahahaha!!!!! You little kid, wants to become King of the Pirates? Dahahahaha." Shanks and his crew laughed hysterically.

"I will bet on you becoming a singer than you becoming the Pirate King." Uta giggled mockingly. Luffy glared at her.

"I am serious!!!! Don't laugh at me." Luffy shouted in frustration.

....

"All of you, laughing at a child's dream. How childish can you be? No drinks for you lot!" Makino declared, horrifying them.

"Please Makino-san!!! Have mercy on us!!!" All of them started pleading to Makino.

.....

"Luffy, do you know how to become the Pirate King though?" Mori chimed in.

"How will I become one? Tell me Mori." Luffy asked, curiosity and desperation present in his voice.

Mori smiled mischievously. " First you have to find the One Piece; second you have to become as strong as Grandpa and third..." Mori paused, trying to create suspense.

"And what's the third condition?" Luffy shouted in desperation.

"You have to marry the Pirate Empress!" Mori declared while grinning, which looked like the smile of the devil himself.

"Dahahahaha!!!! Gahahahaha!!!!!" Everyone at the bar including Makino, started laughing uncontrollabley.

But Luffy had a serious face and Looking at him, Mori knew his scheme had worked somewhat.

The next day, Shanks asked both the brothers to give Uta a tour of the town.

" Why don't we introduce Uta to Ace and Sabo?" Mori asked Luffy.

"Hahh!! That will be fun!!!" Luffy shouted in excitement.

"Huff!! Who wants to play with you?" Uta grumbled to herself.

"Ace and Sabo?" Shanks looked at us in a questioning manner.

"Yeah, they are our sworn brothers. They live in the mountains near Gray Terminal" Mori stated.

"Ace is the son of the Pirate King!!" Luffy shouted.

Bamm!!

"Idiot!!! Don't go around declaring that to everyone. It will cause trouble for Ace." Mori shouted while glaring at Luffy.

"Why are you hitting me Mori?" Luffy protested, tears welling up in his eyes.

Shanks was shocked but quickly composed himself to avoid any suspicioun. Mori noticed it but didn't comment on it, because he knew everything.
