His Legacy

"Should we tell him? I don't know if that would help, but it's better than nothing." A feminine voice sounded out from far away. Akatora didn't know what happened but it seems that he had just woken up. Last thing he remembers was a flash of light and a pair of sharp eyes. It didn't even look like a human's eyes, it was a beastly gaze that made him fearful.

"Then what happens next? It's not like he has something to go back to. It's better to just let the boy live a life without that kind of baggage." A deep voice rang out after the feminine voice. This one felt closer than the one before, but it was still quite far away. He had never felt as muddle headed as he does now.

"But it's his birthright! It's not our place to hold him back from it!" This time, the voices were already so close that they seemed to be right beside him. In fact, there was a hand that was constantly petting his head. If he remembered it right, it was Tsuru doing this. She was the only one who moved his hair from side to side when she's spoiling him.

"Sigh. I would have loved to have never been told about my legacy, I want you to know that. But I guess... he does have the right to know." Now that he was given some time, Akatora recognized this voice. It was Garp, he was sure of it because of the weird way he stops every sentence with a low voice. Akatora kept his eyes closed even though he felt like he could open them. He wanted to listen first so he could access the situation.

"The boy's a descendant of the damn D! Telling him about the reason his tribe was hunted down might make him want revenge! Do you really want that kind of future for him?" Sengoku's voice was quite fierce from how Akatora took it. Were they talking about him? His tribe was hunted down? He thought it was just the savage nature of pirates that did this.

"Sonny boy, you don't have to hide. Open your eyes." A weathered old voice came from beside Akatora as Donna pinched Akatora's nose. The people around them were all stunned at the revelation that their conversation was practically heard by the kid they wanted to hide it from. What a mess.

"Ehehe... Sorry about eavesdropping..." Akatora opened one eye to check and saw four faces inside the room. Sengoku who wore his homely robes, Tsuru and Garp who wore their Marine uniforms and Donna who adorned her normal clothes. While his head rested on Tsuru's lap, Garp and Sengoku were drinking sake over a table as they sat on the ground. Donna was looking down at Akatora with a smile on her face.

"It seems that you're back to your normal self." Donna didn't want to overwhelm the child and carried over a glass of water for him to drink. Tsuru didn't bother standing up and kept on pampering the boy, only moving when she got her butt slapped by Donna to move away.

"Hey! I'm not a child anymore, auntie!" Tsuru was surprised at how she was still being treated like this by Donna. Having been friends with Sengoku since they were 10, she had stayed a lot in Disco Village. Her father was good friends with Sengoku's parents after all, though he died along with Sengoku's father in the war.

"That's right! You are not children anymore! So where is my grandchild?" Donna slapped Tsuru's butt once again while pointing at Sengoku with her other hand. Sengoku ended up spitting the sake in his mouth at Garp while Garp merely laughed loudly. Tsuru ran out of the room with her hands hiding her butt, her face flushed.

"Good grief! Still acting like a child and wants to be treated like an adult! Hmph!" Donna said this while pulling out a candy bar from her pockets. She took it out to offer some to Akatora, but the boy merely shook his head.

"No, thank you grandma. I'm fine." Akatora knew that Donna would have insisted so he gently pushed her hand away. It wasn't that he wanted to eat it but was shy to take some, he just didn't like the candy she was giving out. It was too sweet, just as Donna liked it.

"Suit yourself, kid. I'm not gonna push ya." Donna ended up taking the candy back and opened a few for herself. She looked at the two men who were looking at her weirdly and threw two candies in their direction. The candies were covered in armament haki.

"Ow!"

"Ow!"

"Go and tell the boy about himself! Bunch of children!" Donna filled her mouth with the candy she brought with her. She was afraid that Akatora might change his mind later on. If she ate them all, then she won't need to share.
