Chapter 110: The Way Of The Sword III

...........

The spectators were in silence. Even the Commentator, the individual whose job description is to talk; was also silent, speechless.

They stayed silent even as they heard the ground cracking from the sheer force of Hades swinging down his blade at Lao G, but the edge of his blade didn't touch the old man.

No, what touched him and what broke the ground was the dry body of Machvise, an extremely heavy body despite all of its blood already sucked away by the blade.

The ground cracked, forming a fracture all over the surrounding ground, and Lao G got to personally set his head between those cracks, under Machvise's dead body.

Hades turned around and crouched before a crying Green boy, just listening to his cries of pain, "Wai!!T!"

"The previous you was better," Hades commented.

"Huh?" Green boy V 2.0 didn't remain confused for long as he found Hades' blade going through his chest to harvest his blood.

If the spectators wished for blood, they got none. The Seven-Star blade is a firm believer in nothing goes to waste, so it made sure to suck him dry, leaving behind a mummy of a body.

The spectators didn't even get to see Hades' blood. They saw it clearly, green boy stabbed him, yet there was no blood to speak of, just a hole.

However, if one looks closely, they'd see flames, gorgeous emerald flames as if the entirety of Hades was nothing but flames.

"Touch Of Death," Hades murmured as he stood up, tracing his fingers along the edge of his blade, his words summoning back all the emerald flames around him.

It was as if he focused the flames on the edge of the blade, making the hardened sword shine with a green hue, and then he gently swung the blade.

The result of that simple swing was a simple green slash that went on to travel through the entirety of the stage, slicing all who was on its way.

And those it couldn't slice, it set on fire, gorgeous emerald fire, but how it felt was certainly not gorgeous... The cries of the contestants said as much.

Hades of course wasn't done there. No, one swing wasn't enough. The attack he just performed is something still in the work, and his mastery in the way of the sword wasn't enough, not yet.

So he performed the attack again, and again, and again, more, and more until the entire stage became nothing but dancing flames.

It was a while before the spectators could finally see something again as the flames started flowing towards the center of the stage into the emerald blade.

There was no one else on the stage, only Hades. There weren't even bodies, just a fleeting scent of Death.

[Oh... Ohh... OHHHHHHH!!! Just what happened!!! Something never seen before!!! The last four standing?!! What is that!! Hades, the harvester of Blood, the God of Death said No!! Only he can last death!!]

The Commentator was something else, easily getting his composure back before railing up the spectators. It was as easy as a few words, steering up the loud chaotic cheering of the crowd.

Hades found his way out of the stage amidst the cheering, making his way back to the hall. His vicinity was at all times vacant, everyone avoiding him.

Thunder Soldier didn't. Perhaps he realized that he couldn't escape. Hades being so sure that he left him just a paper made him believe that he has some way to track him, so he stayed along with a silent Rebecca.

"What's your goal?" Thunder Soldier asked with determination, "Know that I won't... I won't tell you anything that may result in the death of innocent people, no matter what."

"Our goal is... A pirate. Who, I will not tell you." Hades calmly said, "But we are interested in the strange happenings around Dressrosa, so do tell me all you know."

"We?" Thunder Soldier curiously questioned.

"Mhm," Hades nodded, "The Pantheon."

"..." Thunder Soldier blinked his tiny eyes a few times, desperately trying to keep his face straight as he started scribbling down a few things on the paper before handing it to Hades.

He was speechless, dumbfounded, stunned, shocked, and all in between. Like, why did Hades actually answer that? Does he not care if anyone else knows? Or is it because Rebecca is standing right by them?

The Pantheon, a mysterious organization responsible for the death of a World Noble. That's all one need to know about it to understand just how much of a taboo subject it is.

"I... I will not tell any more than I wrote. That's the only thing that may interest you in this Kingdom, so please leave it alone." Thunder Soldier stated as he made sure to stand in front of a confused Rebecca.

Her confusion comes from the fact that she has no idea what the Pantheon is. She is after all a prisoner of the Colosseum with little to no freedom.

Hades somehow could read the paper despite his silverly mask, or at least that's how it appeared like as he looked through it before turning his attention to Rebecca, "Swordman?"

"Ah? Yes?" Rebecca responded in a startled tone.

"Let's duel sometime in the future." And without waiting for a response, Hades walked into the distance.

Well, it was only a shadow of Hades because the moment he finished speaking, Yovan teleported away, appearing from a feather in a clothing store.

Soon, he exited that store attired in some fashionable baggy clothing, black pants with golden trimmings along with a long-sleeved shirt with the same trimmings.

He made sure the shirt was hiding the entirety of his left arm, especially his hand. Yovan walked through the colorful streets of Dressrosa until he found someone.

"Hey," Yovan said with a smile. Before him was none other than Viola, shopping for some pink roses.

"What do you want from me?" Viola asked without turning around, taking in the calming scent of flowers all around the shop.

"Hmm, not sure yet," Yovan said as he picked up a yellow rose, taking in its natural scent, "Not bad, you like flowers?"

"Are you sure you aren't sure?" Viola bluntly ignored his question, "Or are you here to pursue me?"

"Hm?" Yovan raised a brow at that, "No."

"So you're just stalking me?" She further questioned. In reality, she just wanted him out of her sight. While she might try to manipulate someone else and use her ability on them, Yovan doesn't seem to be a viable option for her.

She felt like he was too dangerous to try to mess around with, so she'd rather keep her distance from him no matter how curious she was about his mind.

And she did wonder about what was on his mind, 'What does he want? Does he know about my powers? What should I do? I really want to know...'

"Kind of, then again, you're stalking me as well." Yovan shrugged.

"Am I now?" Viola frowned as she picked another flower and put it in her basket, mostly containing pink or red roses.

"Your Devil Fruit gives you the ability to see things, and you saw me, you saw them all, all the feathers throughout Dressrosa. You were somehow able to detect them all... I've been testing you." Yovan murmured.

Viola frowned as she stepped backward, eyeing Yovan with vigilance.

"That's a lie. I haven't been testing you at all, but you just told me what I need to know. You have an ability that allows you to see things in a large area around you." Yovan noted as he narrowed his eye.

"You... Just what do you want from me?" Viola asked, never wanting to stay away from someone more than now.

"I want to know about your second ability, the one you used on me in the sunflower field... I felt like you saw through me. It was an odd feeling, and I'd very much like to know what you saw." Yovan said as he walked closer to her, a bit too close for her comfort.

If that wasn't enough, a shroud of dark feathers enveloped the two, completely isolating them from the outside world.

"I... What... What are going to do?" Viola asked in nervousness. Neither she nor the other Elite officers expect Yovan to act so wildly.

"I'll probably kill you after you tell me." This was the first time in all of Viola's life that she wished someone would just not be honest, but Yovan wasn't done just yet, "Unless..."
