Chapter 81: The Stranger III

...........

"Dear Antarisa, I will be staying here for a few months. Let's have a good time, shall we?" Yovan let a dark chuckle as he spoke, bringing Antarisa to her knees with words alone.

"But first go get me some meat, I'm hungry," Yovan commanded with a gentle smile as he jumped to rest on the mushroom-like tree.

But he couldn't help but arch his brows as he eyed the fear in Antarisa's eyes, "What? It's not like this is the first time you went out to hunt, right?"

"I think it's. I've been here for only a week, and she only eats grass and other natural things, hehehehe..." Hancock responded with an amused laugh.

"Huh? You turned vegan?" Yovan questioned, seeming speechless, "Just how lazy can you be? I guess I just have to be a tiny bit more extreme."

He was even more speechless as he watched Antarisa run away in shame, but he just shook his head before turning his attention to Hancock, "What are you doing here?"

"I... I'm here on a vacation." A red hue emerged on Hancock's cheeks as she answered, seeming embarrassed.

"Well, if you're gonna stay here, then you're vacation gotta end because I hate seeing people around me not working hard," Yovan stated as he started stretching.

"Sure," Hancock didn't mind. She even seemed happy though she couldn't help but remark, "Don't you have clothes to wear?"

He was adorned in one thing, black pants, and that's it. He really didn't have the luxury of looking for clothes nor was he interested in doing so.

"Nah, I just left the Impel Down." Yovan shrugged as he suddenly clenched his fist, focusing on it.

"Huh?" Hancock seemed surprised as she asked, "The news of your escape was spread weeks ago though? How?"

"Well, I never escaped. I just stayed hidden there." Yovan released a grin as he eyed his fist, "Let's have a small gentle battle, shall we?"

Hancock again looked startled as she eyed his fist. It was Inky black. He was using Armament Haki. Well, she didn't find it too surprising considering his capabilities.

How did Yovan awaken his Armament Haki? Well, he didn't, or he did long ago. It was a theory he had a while ago as to the reason why he can't use it... His condition was kept stable by his Armament Haki somehow.

All he needed was to become relatively healthy again, and it came to him naturally. He really wasn't sure how it works, but he was sure that surviving so many deadly situations and injuries wasn't normal.

In fact, the reason why he kept pushing himself despite already reaching his Awakening was to study the phenomenon, and he finally got the hang of it in the Fall Massacre.

That was the reason why the Fall Massacre had to happen and why he allowed himself to be hurt so much.

[Armament Haki (Hardening. Survival's Instinct): 850/∞]

It was as if he has been training his Armament Haki for a long time. Yovan wasn't sure if anyone else in the entire world is capable of the technique he calls Survival's Instinct because as far as he knows, he created it himself.

His Armament Haki will always function in a way to allow his survival, mostly in an internal way, basically defying death as much as possible.

Survival's Instinct was why he could stand when he shouldn't. It was why he was alive when he shouldn't.

In reality, his goal at first was just to grow his Endurance to such an extent that he can regrow his left arm, and it was working.

His Endurance has grown to such a ridiculous degree that his arm was slowly but surely regrowing.

In fact, nearly all of his stats jumped quite a bit after healing. There were still numerous scars on his body, but he looked relatively healthy.

[Question:]

All of his stats shoot through the roof, especially his Kiryu Hasshoken upon the True Awakening of his Armament Haki.

Hasshoken wasn't supposed to be something possible without Armament Haki, so the fact that Yovan was using Hasshoken without it speaks volumes to the broken nature of Limitless.

"Hey!!! Can you like try to be gentle to a beautiful lady like me!!!??" Hancock couldn't help but yell as she found herself thrown away with a kick from Yovan.

He was really ruthless, but everything is permitted in hard work, "Hm, my Armament Haki is still immature. I didn't hit with as much strength as I wanted to." Yovan commented with a frown.

"Well, let this beauty show you how it's done," Hancock replied with a smirk as she leaped towards him with a kick hardened with Armament Haki.

Yovan lifted his inky black hand to block the kick, choosing not to avoid it and instead feel how it really should be done.

He went into defense mode, simply receiving her attacks with ease though she wasn't using her Devil Fruit powers.

"I still don't get it," Yovan murmured as he finally stepped to the side, evading an attack, "I guess hitting things would be better. This is just training, so it's okay."

After he convinced himself, he shrouded himself in a thin hidden armor of feathers, elevating his speed to a ridiculous degree.

He was in his optimal state, so his speed was already monstrous, but with the combination of controlling himself with feathers, it allowed him to bea... Gently train with Hancock.

In the end, hours passed and their 'Battle' accidentally resulted in the destruction of the mushroom tree, the only safe place on the entire Island.

"How is your Endurance so bad?" Yovan wondered as he eyed a seething Hancock. She was looking at him with anger and indignation as she tried to catch her breath.

"Huh? You're asking me what after beating such a beautiful lady???! Have you no shame!!?" So she couldn't help but snap at him. He really didn't change at all.

"What language are you speaking? I think I can translate it, so here we go," Yovan murmured as he eyed the sky, "I'm complaining because I'm lazy and weak."

He translated her words perfectly, his vision still on the sky as he saw a News Coo quickly approaching his location until it dropped a few papers to him.

"Rokushiki," Yovan noted as he looked through the papers. They were given to him by Blueno before the Fall Massacre in hope of exchanging them for the blueprints of Pluton, but Yovan just took them.

Crocodile sucked them into the ground along with the other things and handed them to Morgans. The latter made several copies of them before sending this one to Yovan.

"However, it's incomplete." He further remarked. He was given an incomplete version with only three techniques, Tekkai, Shigan, and Seimei Kikan.

None of these are movement techniques, but Yovan has a way to acquire the other techniques. It all lies in Kalifa and Kaku. The two were Cipher Pol agents after all.

"Well, let's relax and have food for now." Yovan smiled and said much to Hancock's relief. She's starting to regret agreeing to stay.

Antarisa soon brought a small pig. Really, that's all she bought, seemingly targeting the weakest animal on the Island.

But Yovan didn't mind. Instead, his focus was on Limitless, specifically the Question option. He finally settled on a specific question to ask.

[Question: How did the previous Limitless Die?]

The previous question was asking what was Limitless, and the answer was 'An Inhiretance' so it's natural to assume that there was someone before him.

But the nature of it being an inheritance signifies that the previous Limitless no longer exists, or perhaps he does. Either way, the question made it so the answer would tell him exactly what he want to know.

[Answer: Suicide]

Yovan wasn't sure whether he should be happy or not. If the previous Limitless was killed, it would mean that he has enemies that can kill such a monstrosity.

But suicide may signify something worse. Well, after thinking about it, Yovan realized that he will not be able to suicide if he can not die, and how can he die if he can like just survive?

That became especially true as Yovan traced his eye to a specific option [Absolute Survivor?]

The question mark was somewhat confusing to Yovan since Limitless not comprehending something seems very far-fetched, but he feels like he can understand it somehow.

It was a feeling in his heart like he can survive anything like nothing can put him down. He went through a lot, so much misfortune and suffering.

His story was truly that of a survivor, but Yovan didn't feel like allowing it to be that way anymore. He doesn't feel like allowing Limitless to fuck him over.

Because to a certain extent, Limitless was trying to kill him. It's not a kind system but a very dark one because its standards are nigh high, and only the greatest can become Limitless.

Yovan knows that Limitless is nothing but a test he didn't choose to take, and he's planning to fuck it over, and put it through misfortune but also use it for his own goals!!
