91 A challenger?!
Jackson POV
The next day arrived. After my little sparring session with Kuina last night, I learned that Rho Aias was able to block her strongest attack with 6 out of the 7 barriers. That in itself is already great since it means that it can block attacks on the level of Kaido's boro breath or Big Mom's Ikoku Sovereignty though those probably aren't their strongest moves.
Nonetheless, in addition to it's great defense, it also has close to no cool-down-time meaning I can just spam it in case it gets broken through, which surely would trigger anyone who gives it his all to destroy the numerous protective layers.
At first I wasn't sure about my decision, thinking that maybe I should have chosen the hanging gardens but with my limited knowledge about it, using it to it's full capabilities would have been close to impossible anyways... or so I kept telling myself but now all my doubts are gone. Out of the 2 options I chose the correct one.
"Hey Onii-san! You can't get lost in thought while walking around with me!"
A slight pull on my legs and a young girls complaining voice pulled me out of my thoughts. Looking down, Rebecca was there clinging to my legs while pouting adorably. As she already mentioned, we are currently out, walking around the city and looking at stuff to buy.
The streets are filled with people as usual... or were filled. Everyone scurries to the sides leaving a path on the colorful road for me and the little princess to comfortably walk on without feeling stuffy. As for Rebecca...
At first, the fact that this 12 years old princess had a one-sided crush bothered me but I soon decided to do the one right thing every protago- *cough* every man of culture in my situation would/should do. Act dense and be oblivious.
Soon we will leave this island anyways so she should get over me in that time. Tomorrow Law and Sabo will be coming back, meaning the final act will happen in around 8-9 days from now. Guess we will be gone in around 10 days then.
Since there is still enough time left till Big Mom's tea party, I decided to not directly go to her territory. Instead we could go and find Shanks or the Minks. Wano is of the list, since I plan to first find Ace and bring him along but Elbaf sounds interesting.
'Whatever. There is still time to decide.'
Turning my attention back to our little outing, a smoll pouting Rebecca met my eyes.
"...Sorry. Let's go to your favorite cake shop, I'll buy whatever you say..."
!
"Really?! You said it yourself so no take backsies!"
'...cute'
Her expression immediately changed to one of excitement, even taking me back for a second but I just nodded and went along. Who could say no when she looks at you with that happy shine in her eyes.
'Guess I am a sucker for cute things... In a normal and healthy way of course!'
In this relaxed manner most of the day soon came to pass and we were about to go back to the palace but a small commotion reached our ears.
Something about a rookie pirate who entered the new world this year, arriving at the port. The arrival of someone like that is irrelevant, since I sincerely doubt said pirates are here for us but little Rebecca had other plans.
"Hey Onii-san! Let's go and see what they want here."
"Huh? Why should we? It's just some pirates, haven't you seen plenty of them already?"
"Please! If they are bad we have to beat them!"
'Argh my head! Why do WE have to beat them? Aren't there any guards... Come to think of, there probably aren't.'
Should I tell her not to bother? So what if they are bad, after all would they dare to cause trouble while this youn- *cough* great master stays here? There really is no reason to bother ourselves with them.
"...a Challenge?!"
Just when I was about to try to change her mind a sudden shout rang out in the street. One of the guys standing to the side, let's graciously call him passerby A, exclaimed after hearing what his friend, passerby B, told him.
"Isn't he just a newbie? How could he think about challenging the Jackson-Pirates?" (Passerby A)
"It's true! I was at the port when he made his declaration. The super rookie Cavendish declared that he would beat the Jackson-Pirates and make them his subordinates!" (Passerby B)
"Hiss. Isn't that too daring? Leaving aside whether he can actually win, why would they become his subordinates?" (Passerby A)
"That lunatic said something about how the captain is so much uglier that he should feel honored to follow him, who is 'perfect' man..." (Passerby B)
Meanwhile I was standing there hearing everything. For a moment it felt like my brain short circuited.
'Did I hear right?'
Was all that came to my mind. After all that bastard dared to declare he would beat us and even called me ugly.
...
"Ehm... Onii-chan? Y- You aren't ugly ok?"
Rebecca, who must have heard them talk, shyly tried to encourage me which is really sweat of her but the problem is that Cavendish just got on my nerves. So with a 'kind' smile I answered her.
"Hey Rebecca. You are right, we can't let some pirates come here to cause chaos. Let's go and beat them REALLY good."
"Eh... Y-Yeah... let's"
With this Cavendish's fate was sealed.

3rd Person POV
At the port in Dressrosa's port city Sebio. Cavendish and his crew docked here in this port and grandly declared their reason for coming to Dressrosa.
The narcissistic super rookie who had yet to lose once as a pirate, announced to everyone that he would defeat the Jackson-Pirates, who the public believed to be strong enough to fight the other established Yonkos.
The people that were present reacted quite shocked at his bold declaration and soon some of them ran off to gossip but Cavendish was far from done.
Discussing loudly with his crew members how he would make the other party their subordinate and making fun of them for being uglier than him, was only the tip of what would later come around to bite him in the ass.
Getting off the ship and proudly walking around the port as if showing off, is what he usually does whenever he lands on a new island but this time would be different.
*kyaaAAAHHHHH!!!*
A shrill scream resounded. It was coming closer. Then-
*BOOOMMM*
Out of nowhere a figure landed at the port from seemingly out of nowhere. The ground beneath his feet cracked and a lot of dust was blown up.
People who were close to his landing location all backed away hastily, wondering what just happened. After a short while the dust settled, revealing who suddenly appeared.
Young, tall, unique blonde tone, white shirt, dark pants and black coat. The man whose head is worth 2.051.000.000 B suddenly appeared. He was carefully holding a little pink haired girl, who seems to have fainted just now.
"T-T-That is... Portgas D. Jackson!" (Passerby C)
"Oh my god! It really is him! Did he come here to deal with the arrogant super rookie?" (Passerby D)
People who recognized him immediately started gossiping on the sides. Meanwhile Cavendish and his crew immediately got battle ready. Drawing their weapons and taking a stance they prepared to gang up on this fool who appeared here before them all alone.
"Portgas D. Jackson! You should feel honored to be beaten by me, Cave-!"
*VROOOOM*
Before Cavendish got to finish spouting bullshit, the world around him lost it's colors. As if a gray filter swept through space, everything turned to shades of black and white.
'Huh?'
He couldn't understand what was suddenly happening even as his own legs gave out causing him to fall to his knees.
His chest started to feel so unbelievably tight that it hurt him. Even the beating of his heart, he felt it up to his throat.
*Thud*Thud*Thud*
The noise of his comrades fainting and falling face first barely reached his ears. Never before did he feel so helpless and powerless, not even when he was a kid.
Forget standing up and fighting, even lifting a finger was impossible. Cold sweat ran down his back while fear twisted his heard like a cold hand. It was the first time he experienced conqueror's haki and it was first loss as a pirate captain.
Suddenly the strange pressure vanished and the world returned to normal. Startled like an animal he looked around, noticing that only his crew members fainted while the people watching on the sidelines were perfectly fine.
They even looked over questioningly as if they weren't aware of what just happened.
*Tak*Tak*Tak*
Jackson walked up to him until he towered directly above Cavendish.
"At first I thought of beating you up really good but you are lucky that I thought of how you can be useful."
"...Wha?" (Cavendish)
He felt like he couldn't understand the world anymore. What just happened. Why couldn't he fight back. What was this monster talking about. But he wasn't given the chance to think too long about it. Soon a big black fist came flying his way becoming the last thing he saw before his vision blanked out.
(AN: Hey Everyone! I saw some comments about how it would take another month till I updated again and found it funny because it's true. Still I thought why not just quickly write another chapter. Starting from next chapter the conclusion and the end of Dressrosa will start and Cavendish and his crew will actually play an important role in it (surprisingly).
