40 Take back what you said!

As Whitebeard left the hall his commanders also followed behind him not sparing Kenshin any glance.

Hiyori who was blocked by Izo shoved him to the side and ran towards Kenshin who was still tucked against the wall.

"Kenshin, can you still feel your arms?" Hiyori asked as she checked Kenshin's arms.

Staring at Hiyori who was worried sick, Kenshin chuckled and said, "I am still alive you know."

*Pak!*

He received a slap on the head as Hiyori turned her attention towards Neptune and asked, "Is there a doctor here?"

Not waiting for Neptune to reply Aladdin the doctor of the sun pirates hurriedly approached Kenshin as he checked his condition.

A few moments later Aladdin took a deep breath and said, "You only have a few torn muscles and your bones are all intact, looks like Whitebeard went easy on you."

Kenshin smiled wearily and said, "I know, even though I gave it my all to defend his attack I still got defeated while he was still holding back his power."

Hiyori who was kneeling beside Kenshin tried to comfort him as she said, "Why are you comparing yourself against Pops, he is clearly far stronger than you so you should not feel disappointed after being defeated."

Lowering his head Kenshin bit his lips so hard that it started bleeding and replied, "I'm disappointed because I'm still not powerful enough to save our people, I'm disappointed because I really thought that I could finally go back and fight Kaido! The people who were left behind are still suffering under Kaido's reign while I'm still here living a far greater life than any of the samurai's that are locked up or those villagers that are being oppressed by Orochi."

He then glared at the empty hall where Whitebeard's crew exited and said angrily, "That bastard won't even give us a helping hand because he is too afraid that a lot of innocent lives will be lost if a war between two emperors commences."

Hiyori who already had tears in her eyes slapped Kenshin on the face and shouted, "Take back what you said! Pops isn't at fault here because I was the one who told him not to interfere! I didn't want his crew and the family he dearly loves to be involved in our country's problem!"

Kenshin stared at Hiyori in disbelief and could only utter a single word.

"Why?"

Wiping the tears on her face Hiyori looked at Kenshin and explained, "When Mother found out that Father was killed she ordered your Father and Kawamatsu to bring me to safety while my older brother and Kin'emon's group were sent to the future."

"Before separating from my Mother she told me that if I ever got the chance to escape Wano and meet up with Pops then I should do my very best to stop him from taking revenge, she told me that my Father didn't want any of his friends especially Whitebeard who he regarded as his older brother to be inflicted, that is also why he didn't ask for help when he got back after his journey with the Roger pirates because he wanted to be the one to save his own country."

She then held Kenshin's face and said while looking straight into his eyes, "Mother wanted you and big brother Momo to be the ones to save Wano! the samurai's and villagers that are being oppressed are all waiting for the day of your arrival, the day that you would storm Onigashima and kill Kaido liberating the oppressed citizens of Wano."

Staring at Hiyori who had tears flowing down her face Kenshin shook his head and said, "I don't want to be a hero who saves Wano, all I want is to save the people of Wano that are currently suffering right now."

He then turned his head towards Aladdin and asked, "Can you help me stand up? I need some time alone."

Aladdin nodded his head as he carefully supported Kenshin to stand up.

Balancing his footing Kenshin glanced back at Hiyori who was still sobbing on the floor and could only shake his head as he walked towards the tower that was built by Neptune just for him.
