17 Chapter 17

"Hi there little guy, I'm here to find Mrs. Banchina, is this her house?"

Allan said with a smile, he knew immediately who the little guy was.

Usopp!

A man with many monikers, someone who possessed extremely strong Observation Haki and could predict future events with high accuracy.

Also known as God Usopp!

Jokes aside, Usopp's lies actually happened one after the other.

The first lie that came true was his daily lie or the townspeople's alarm clock "The pirates are coming!".

Pirates did come in the form of Black Cats and Straw Hat Pirates, fighting a giant goldfish happened in Little Garden, little people that revere him also happened in Dressrosa, story about the mole in the estate happened in Arabasta, the dragon in Punk Hazard, the Cerberus in Thriller Bark, and more lies of his would probably come true in the future.

Allan even wanted to know whether Sniper Island was real.

"Yes, but my mom is sick."

The little Usopp said with a sad voice.

"Then little borther, can we meet your mother? We also have a doctor with us, Kaku, could you please bring Doctor Stern here?"

Allan said with a gentle smile.

"A doctor? Then come in please!"

The little Usopp said with glowing eyes.

"Thanks little brother, my name is Allan, and these are Koby and Carina, Kaku went to get the doctor."

Allan said while entering the house.

"Uhm, my name is Usopp."

Usopp said shyly while guiding Allan in.

"Mom! Someone wants to meet you."

Usopp asked while opening the door slightly.

"Is that so dear, could you please lead the guests into the living room dear. I'll come out shortly."

Usopp's mom, Banchina said with a rather hoarse voice.

"Okay Mom!"

Usopp enthusiastically listened to his mother dragging Allan, Koby, and Carina inside the living room.

"Please wait here! I'll go out and wait for the doctor, you guys wait for Mom!"

Usopp said with eagerness.

It wasn't that there were no doctors on the island, Kaya's parents even helped hire the best doctor they could hire.

After all, Yasopp's name was rather loud for those in the know, but Banchina's health still deteriorated.

So Usopp was excited to know that a doctor was coming.

"Hello guests, I'm sorry for the wait, as you can see, I'm a bit sick."

Banchina said with a slight cough after entering the room and sitting in front of Allan.

Seeing only one teenager and two kids, Banchina's guard lowered.

"Hi Mrs. Banchina, I won't say much and directly tell you our intentions."

Allan said with a soft smile.

"My name is Allan, these are my little brother Koby, and little Sister Carina, Kaku who is the same age as me will be coming here with a doctor, another slightly older brother of mine named Gin is currently busy with a task, and finally, Sister Makino runs a bar in Windmill Town as of now, all six of us belong to the Jaeger Family, I Jaeger Allan am the head of the family."

Allan said with a slight bow.

"We heard that a famous sniper named Yassop lived here so we came to visit, but we found out that only his wife and son stay here."

Allan paused.

"After hearing that the famous sniper had a son, I and the others became interested, since the father is a skilled sniper, his son should also have excellent potential! Now that I've seen little Usopp, I'm sure he has the qualifications to be an excellent sniper, but Usopp is still quite young, I myself am only 11 years old this year. So we came here to try and invite Usopp into our family!"

Allan stopped with glowing eyes.

"This, but Usopp is only 5 years old."

Banchina was extremely stunned, how should she react when a bunch of kids and a huge 11-year-old boy asked her for her son?

Shanks was one thing, but now a bunch of children wanted to take Usopp away with them.

Koby didn't even listen just looked around curiously, Carina didn't seem to care and just stuck with Allan.

Except for Allan, the Jaeger Family looked a bit too young.

There seemed to be three more members but from Allan's tone, they weren't that old either.

Amidst the conversation, Kaku and Usopp arrived with Doctor Stern.

Seeing Usopp's anxious look, Allan sighed.

"Please Mrs. Banchina, would it be possible to continue our talk after Doctor Stern's checkup?"

Allan said politely.

Seeing her son's worry, Banchina could agree, she didn't really think that anything would change but for her son's sake, she allowed Doctor Stern to work.

After a while, Doctor Stern could only shake his head.

"I'm sorry for my incompetence Mrs. Banchina, Mr. Al."

Doctor Stern said with a slight bow.

"It's not your fault Doctor Stern, a friend of mine hired a lot of Doctors already and none of them could diagnose me with any disease."

Banchina said with a soft smile.

"Then I should go."

Doctor Stern said with a glint in his eyes.

"I'll take Doctor Stern out, Koby and Carina, go play with little Usopp."

Allan said while guiding Doctor Stern out.

They had a brief conversation and Allan looked a bit surprised.

Usopp was persuaded by Koby and Carina and they went outside to play.

Allan and Kaku were left together with Mrs. Banchina.

"Please excuse me for being rude Mrs. Banchina, but after asking around, Mr. Yassop doesn't seem to be a decent person."

Allan suddenly said making Banchina's face visibly change but she was a bit helpless because the town's people had similar opinions.

"Your still too young and don't understand a man's dream, of course he has to follow it, I don't want my husband to regret not pursuing his life because of me and his son."

Banchina said with firm eyes.

"Then it's fine for a son to grow with only stories of his father?"

Allan said with a calm tone.

This world's medical technology was quite weird, to the point where you have cyborgs and countries famous for their medicine but also primitive islands with extremely effective medical technology.

With the support of the richest person in town, there should have been a good doctor who tried to treat Banchina in the original anime, but Banchina still died of an unknown disease.

Doctor Stern before leaving told him that he remembered something similar in one of his teacher's books.

It was a legendary disease called Lovesickness, but unlike Lovesickness, Banchina's disease was too much emotion of miss and sadness.

Once a person begins to show symptoms of such disease, only the person they miss could help heal them or the patient reconciles with his or her own feelings.

Allan wanted to add regret.

Banchina regretted letting Yassop go.

As for why? Maybe her love for Yasopp was too much so even though she willingly let Yasopp go, she still had other expectations, or what Allan thought was the most plausible reason, Usopp, seeing Usopp grow without a father, Banchina could only tell Usopp repeatedly how great his father was, how his father was a brave warrior of the sea so that Usopp would not grow to hate his father.

Banchina was silent as if thinking.

What Allan said was true, but Banchina never saw it like that.

She did regret that Usopp couldn't see his father, but she did not regret her decision.

Looking at it in another direction, people in One Piece were extremely affectionate to the point of distortion.

Morals and values were up to people with the power to decide.

Luffy, for example, disdained Kuro for abandoning his name and faking his death, saying he was not a worthy pirate, Kuro who decimated a whole marine ship with only Morgan left alive, and Kuro who attempted to kill even his subordinates with his self-made technique while fighting Luffy, Luffy who saw Kuro kill or attempt to kill his own crew didn't comment about it, rather he disdainfully remarked how unworthy Kuro was as a pirate.

So no, people like Banchina might regret it, but she would never agree that she did, to say that people in One Piece were hard-hearted while also being soft-hearted was not a lie, Garp could sit down and wait for his grandson's execution for his own justice, look at his own grandson being demolished by the admirals, but also get angry and attempted to kill Akainu when Ace escaped but was killed.

Even Kuro who was extremely cruel had glimpses of his time with Kaya before he thought he died, after all, not everyone was Luffy who wanted to shatter people's dreams instead of taking their lives.

So even though Banchina felt conflicted about her husband and son, she still chose to stand by her husband even if it meant allowing her son to grow without a father.

Allan knew this was going to be a hard fight.

"I understand your position Mrs. Banchina, but if you continue with your current condition, Usopp will lose you next, I assume you know your husband well enough, will he come back and take Usopp away? If that was true, he would have visited you already."

Allan added.

Mrs. Banchina still looked unfazed but if one looked closely, her eyes started to moisten.

"So here is my proposition Mrs. Banchina, I want to bring you to Chen Town, there, you can relax and focus on treatment with your son, after you are fully healed, you can return to Syrup Village with Usopp, I'll be giving Usopp a set of training exercises just to build his physique nothing more. But the moment you fall sick again, we will take you and Usopp back to Chen Town, and Usopp will join our Jaeger Family."

Allan paused.

"And if at some point Usopp voluntarily wants to join our family, then I hope Mrs. Banchina will support him, I know it is hard for Mrs. Banchina, so I want to tell you this, as long as it is family, I will help every member with their chosen path as much as I can, Usopp, as far as I can see has the potential to be the number one sniper in the world! So I will help Usopp reach the state where he can beat Mr. Yassop and bring him back to you. I know you love your husband a lot, but I hope you equally love the son that you gave birth to, Live! Even if it's hard, I want you to see Usopp decide his own dream and realize it himself! See with your own eyes and be the person who would be happy for him, let him see the person he cares for the most in the world congratulate him for his achievements!"

Allan said with bright eyes.

Kaku patted Allan's back before Allan burst out with Conqueror's Haki, the already weak Banchina would probably not be able to endure such pressure.

"I apologize for my outburst Mrs. Banchina, so please tell me your decision tomorrow morning, we'll be leaving by then."

Allan said along with his gentle smile.

Kaku also bowed slightly towards Banchina.

In fact, Allan could also add insults towards Yassop, but he held it in, as much as he disdained Yassop, Banchina's love was true and unchangeable, so rather than making Banchina angry at him for insulting her beloved, Allan thought it would be better to just redirect her attention to Usopp.

Banchina was still chewing on Allan's speech as she nodded back.

"Is it worth it? From what I've read, Mr. Yassop seemed to be a bit famous along with the Red Hair Pirates, their captain was even said to be an intern in the Roger Pirates, those guys should be extremely powerful."

Kaku asked with worry.

For a single Usopp, Allan was willing to offend the Red Hair Pirates and its captain Red Hair Shanks.

"It's fine, sooner or later we'll have to face powerful people in the future, I asked them to return so as not to offend Yassop too thoroughly, but what's the point of fearing them so much, don't underestimate yourself Kaku, as long as you grow, you'll definitely be able to fight with those bigshots in the Grand Line, as for their Captain, when the time comes, just give him to me."

Allan said with a burst of cheerful laughter, but a scary aura emanated from him.

Shanks was scary, even now Allan wasn't too confident about his words, but it did not stop the bubbling ambition inside of him from growing.
