Luffy was staring at the calisthenics skill with a grin on his face. This was the first and only physical skill that he had maxed out.

It has been a month since Ace started her journey as a pirate. She seemed like she was planning something as she had that mischievous grin as she sailed away.

Luffy hadn't heard from her since. He went right back to training after she left because that's what she would've wanted him to do.

And now, Luffy made the floating screen disappear and he continued staring at the blue wavy sea with a smile on his face. "8 more months until I turn 17, then I can start my journey. I can't wait! Shishishishishi!!" He started laughing.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching him and turned to look at Makino who was running towards him while waving a newspaper at him.

"Luffy! The newspaper! It's about Ace!" Makino shouted and handed him the newspaper which Luffy immediately snatched away from her.

Luffy read the headlines of the newspaper and almost spat out his lunch.

'The Pirate King, Gol D Roger's Bloodline Continues! Gol D. Ace Runs Amok in this New Era of Pirates!!'

"What the fuck did you do Ace? It's only been a month." Luffy whispered as he continued reading the newspaper.

Ace had apparently arrived at Loguetown, which is known as 'The town of the beginning and the end', because of the former Pirate King Gol D. Roger was born and executed here.

The newspaper said that witnesses saw her climb to the top of the The Execution Platform, where Roger was executed.

Then she declared that she was the daughter of Gol D Roger and Portgas D Rouge much to the shock of everyone.

She revealed that Gold Roger's true name was Gol D Roger, not the name the world government gave him.

After that, Ace caused a lot of chaos in Loguetown. She fought Captain Smoker who was in charge of the base. He also had a reputation of not letting any pirates escape from the island.

Ace dealt with him pretty easily, witnesses say she was using strange techniques such as appearing and disappearing out of nowhere, and creating air blades with just a kick.

Reports say she now also has eaten a Devil Fruit. Ace now has the Mera Mera no Mi, which allows her to create, control, and transform into fire at will.

There was also a picture of the Devil Fruit in question. The Mera Mera no Mi is a round orange fruit, composed of many flame-shaped components with swirl patterns on each one, and has a swirled stem on the top.

She fought off Captain Smoker and quickly escaped via her small wooden boat. Her way was blocked by a few naval battleships.

She quickly dealt with it using her Devil Fruit's abilities, thus effectively earning her the epithet 'Fire Fist' Ace.

Even the Marines' Science Unit Division got involved to prove Ace wrong and that she was just a crazy person, what came out was the exact opposite.

A piece of brown paper fell out of the newspaper and Luffy picked it up. He looked at it and widened his eyes.

"150 million Belly. It's only been a fucking month Ace. I wonder what gramps think of this. "

In Garp's office that was in Marineford. Garp was eating rice crackers while looking at some papers.

Then Bogard, his right hand man entered his office and handed him a newspaper. Garp took it and Bogard left.

Garp hummed as he read the headline of the newspaper.

"Pfft!!!"

He spat out the rice cracker he was chewing and coughed while patting his chest. He rubbed his eyes and read it again, his eyes weren't deceiving him.

His shocked expression slowly became a proud one as he kept reading. Then a wanted poster fell out and Garp picked it up.

" On second thought. Makino, let's go on a dinner date. " Luffy invited suddenly, surprising Makino.

" Wh-what!? L-luffy! Why?! "Makino stuttered while having a blush on her face.

"Because I said so, let's go get prepared."

8 months later.....

Luffy was looking at his reflection in the mirror. He was wearing a custom made outfit made by Gyatsu that made him look handsome.

Luffy looked at his cutlass and flintlock, making sure they were secured tightly beside his hips.

He nodded to himself and walked out of his room. He looked back at it one more time, this would be the last time he would be sleeping in this room.

"Goodbye room." Luffy muttered before closing the door to it. He sighed and looked at the bar around him. Memories were flooding his brain as he walked past the barstools.

"Goodbye Partys Bar." He muttered and exited the bar. He started walking towards the port.

The villagers were all looking at him while whispering amongst each other. They knew that today was the day Luffy was going to leave Dawn Island and become a pirate.

They started following him. Luffy arrived at the dock and stood in front of a moderately sized wooden dinghy with a white sail on it.

"Wait!"

Luffy looked at Makino who was running towards him while holding something.

"Makino, you know you can't come with me no matter how much you ask. " Luffy smiled down at her. Makino handed him the object she was holding.

It was a red coat that Luffy could drape over him. "It's to keep you warm at night, I made it myself." Makino muttered shyly. Luffy smiled and grabbed it.

"Thanks Makino! I don't know how many times I've said this, but you really are the best!" Luffy grinned at her. Makino blushed at his compliment. Luffy draped it over him. Now he had the full set of his pirate outfit.[Pic]

He hugged her. Makino gasped and immediately hugged him back. "I'm gonna miss you a lot, Makino." He whispered while caressing her back. Makino started sobbing.

"Me too, Luffy. Me too." She sobbed out. Luffy released the hug and grinned at her. He then looked at the dinghy and stepped onto it.

The boat started sailing away on its own as it started getting further and further away from the dock.

The villagers started cheering as Luffy grinned at them. They were waving goodbye at him, some who knew Luffy really well started crying as he was going to leave them for a very long time.

Luffy stood up from his dinghy and looked at Makino. He grinned at her as Makino was sobbing.

"MAKINOOO!!!!! WHEN I BECOME PIRATE KING!!! I'M GONNA COME BACK AND MARRY YOU!!!! THAT'S A PROMISE!!!!"

Makino was shocked to the core. The villagers started whistling at her while Makino's face was getting redder and redder from Luffy's sudden declaration.

Woop Slap huffed angrily. "He better be successful or else he'll ruin this town's reputation." He grumbled.

Makino couldn't handle the seriousness of Luffy's marriage proposal and fainted. Luffy laughed at her reaction.

"Shishishishishi!!!!!"

He then turned his back towards the island and looked at the vast sea before him. He smirked.

"Well then. It all starts now...."
