8 Game Event

Maybe many of you don't like what I write after this.

But as a human being, I have to take part in this no matter how small I can contribute.

I am not someone who is rich, famous, or has the power to change the situation. But as I was taught from a young age "if you can't do the whole thing then do part of it".

That is why I would like to say that there is currently a famine in Gaza, at least 20% of the population suffers from extreme food shortages, with one in three children experiencing acute malnutrition and two out of every 10,000 children dying every day from hunger or malnutrition and disease. The Zionists closed the aid route to Gaza which they claim to have made efforts to open.

I don't want to encourage you to do anything but if you can at least give a little time to pray for them with whatever faith you have, that would be enough.

Free Palestine.

Eto read the notice on his system repeatedly without blinking, causing his eyes to turn red.

He hoped that one or two words would change, but unfortunately, what he read was the same as the first time.

As a result, Eto could only sigh deeply, his face growing paler.

He had been waiting and wondering when the Game Event would come. He had imagined in his rich mind what form the Game Event would take and the abundance of SP he would gain.

But now, Eto truly understood the meaning of "No Pain, No Gain."

To earn 1 SP, he had to kill 50 rebel soldiers or 50 cannibal monkeys.

Even fighting a dozen rebel soldiers had pushed Eto to his limits, and now he had to kill three times that number. However, if Eto could fight them one by one, he believed he could reach fifty.

Unfortunately, just as Eto revealed his face, he would immediately be surrounded not only by 50 enemies but hundreds.

Some might think that as a war veteran, Eto could set traps and fight guerrilla warfare in the forest.

Unfortunately, the enemies Eto faced were not ordinary soldiers but rebel warriors who had undergone the same training camp as Eto.

So, this wasn't like Rambo versus the local police but rather Rambo versus an Army of Rambos!

Using traps and guerrilla warfare against cannibal monkeys was also impossible. They ruled this forest, so no one understood its intricacies except them.

Moreover, although each of these monkeys was much stronger than human adult, they still fought and hunted in groups.

If Eto could learn more, he would discover that the cannibal monkeys he faced were chimpanzees. They were distant relatives of the Humandrills found on Kuraigana Island, where Zoro would train with Mihawk.

The difference was that the cannibal monkeys still lived in the remote jungle and rarely encountered humans. Thus, they still lived much like other ordinary monkeys, albeit much smarter.

However, with the escalating war between the rebel forces and the kingdom's army, it was possible that one day in the future, the cannibal monkeys would begin to learn how to use weapons by observing humans killing each other.

Unfortunately, Illisia was not located in the Grand Line but in the West Blue, so if a group of dangerous apes capable of fighting with weapons emerged, humans might no longer be able to control this part of the world.

Returning to Eto's dilemma, the only way to complete this Game Event was to make the Rebel Soldiers and Cannibal Monkeys fight each other.

Perhaps amidst the chaos, Eto could claim a few lives and eventually fulfill the Event Accomplishment.

So, Eto only needed to hide for a while until the Rebel Soldiers and Cannibal Monkeys could encounter each other.

However, unfortunately, Eto's intuition told him that both groups had already discovered his presence, so hiding was not a good idea.

In addition, the tree hole where he was currently hiding was extremely narrow, hindering his movements.

If a rebel soldier were to shoot in his direction, Eto could only grit his teeth and endure the hot bullets. So, whatever plan he intended to use later, he had to get out of his hiding hole first.

"MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO!"

Eto crawled out of the tree hole, only to hear the cannibal monkey's voices growing closer. The smell of his human body could no longer be masked by the scent of the trees as he emerged into the open air.

"MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO!"

Eto shivered, fear creeping up his neck.

Quickly, he descended from the tree because he knew no matter how skillful he was at climbing, he couldn't beat the apes whose born in the trees.

Eto ran in the opposite direction of the approaching cannibal monkey's sound. But not long after, as he ran, the sound of human footsteps became clearer.

Then suddenly...

*BANG!

A bullet flew so fast that Eto barely had time to realize it embedded itself in his head.

Eto's body jerked backward, propelled by the force of the hot bullet piercing his skull. Instantly, his vision blurred, and dizziness followed by pain capable of driving him mad assaulted all his senses.

[-95 HP]

"AARRRRGHGHHH!!!!"

Eto screamed in agony, clutching his forehead. His body trembled violently, displaying a natural response to the unimaginable pain.

No one had ever lived to tell how painful it was when your brain was destroyed by a hot bullet, so this was a new medical achievement in this world.

One shot immediately drained all of Eto's HP, leaving only 5% remaining. Despite adding Constitution attributes, being shot directly in the head should have killed him instantly.

"Hey, why did you shoot?"

"I saw someone approaching, Sir. So, I thought it was the enemy... But I shot him in the head, so why is he still can scream?"

"You fool! I told you we need to capture Stone Face alive! What if the one you shot was Stone Face?"

"Well... sorry, but he's still alive, so relax, hehehe..."

Amidst the agonizing pain, Eto could hear the conversation between the Rebel Captain and his shooter. He could recognize the shooter voice, Euroka, the sniper genius who was the pride of the rebel forces.

It was said that Euroka could shoot the eye of a bird from kilometers away.

Only the legendary Laffitte, who disappeared a few years ago, was able to rival Euroka's marksmanship skills. When a legend like Laffitte is compared to someone's name, it shows how remarkable Euroka's shooting ability is.

Eto didn't know why Euroka was in a place like this.

Most likely, they were on a mission to assassinate an important figure in the royal army. However, with Euroka's presence here, what Eto was facing became even more dangerous.

If he was here, then the rebel camp Eto had seen earlier wasn't just an ordinary rebel camp.

It was highly likely that there was an elite team of rebel forces inside the camp, making Eto's chance of surviving this situation even slimmer.

Analyses by Eto were indeed accurate and almost hit the bullseye. However, the reality goes beyond that.

The rebel encampment Eto observed earlier was indeed geared towards assassinating key figures of the kingdom. Yet, it wasn't just any figure, but the king of Ilisia himself, Thalassa Lucas.

Having returned from the Reverie in Mary Geoise, his plea for assistance against the uprising had just been rejected by other kingdoms.

This return of Thalassa Lucas was picked up by rebel spies, who then prepared a welcoming party for him with a contingent of assassins, including a sharpshooter ready to take his life.

However, while they were discussing the strategy for the imminent assassination of Thalassa Lucas, Eto suddenly appeared before their encampment.

The captain leading this unit of rebels happened to be the sibling of Lieutenant Guardi, and their bond was exceptionally strong.

Therefore, Eto was of paramount importance to him, as he needed to ascertain his sibling's whereabouts.

Consequently, the Rebel Captain ordered his troops to capture Stone Face alive for interrogation. However, he never anticipated that the rebels he dispatched earlier had not returned by the following day.

Thus, the Rebel Captain's love for his sibling prompted him to postpone the preparations for Thalassa Lucas's assassination and pursue Eto into the forest.

Nevertheless, the initial preparations had been completed, awaiting only the positioning of personnel.

Hence, with Euroka's marksmanship skills, if he and Rebel Captain manages to emerge alive from the forest, the odds for Thalassa Lucas's survival in the future would be slim.

At this point, Eto no longer thought about how he could gain SP from the Game Event. But it seemed that fate was truly cursing Eto on this day.

"MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO! MBO!"
