Chapter 16: Imperial Collision! The Sky Is Like An Abyss!

BigMom felt her Conqueror's Haki was being suppressed,

Her face turned red, yet she was unable to push it back.

Shock filled her as her own formidable power seemed to diminish.

Is BigMom's Conqueror's Haki weakening?

Air currents surged violently around her,

With each step Kaido took,

The floor tiles beneath his feet shattered further.

No, it wasn't that her's was too weak.

It was Kaido's Conqueror's Haki that was overwhelmingly strong!

Buffeted by the intense winds, BigMom's dress whipped about, and Napolon, perched on her head, nearly flew away.

An indescribable sense of shock filled me.

What has happened to Kaido? How has his Conqueror's Haki become so exaggerated?

The faces of the three key subordinates darkened as they watched the confrontation.

Their revered mother appeared to be at a disadvantage from the outset.

Kaido was more formidable than they had anticipated!

"Charlotte, where have you hidden Pudding? I just want her," Kaido bellowed as he surveyed the arena.

He could not find his target, Pudding.

In addition, the wielder of the mirror fruit ability, was also absent.

"Oh? It seems she's hiding in the mirror," he mused aloud.

That woman had no combat strength and would either stay by BigMom for protection,

Or she had no choice but to conceal people within the mirror space.

Upon hearing this, Katakuri's palms broke out in a cold sweat, relieved they had chosen wisely.

"People who dare to plunder my pirate group, you're centuries too early, Kaido!" BigMom mocked, noticing that Kaido was at a loss with the mirror space.

His expression turned icy, and his Conqueror's Haki subsided.

This confrontation would not be settled without a solid fight.

BigMom saw his intention, which was exactly what she was aiming for!

In an instant, they shot to the center of the hall and took to the air,

The lightning from their Conqueror's Haki ignited on their weapons,

And though it seemed they should not have met, their weapons collided midair!

A powerful airflow rocketed skyward, obliterating the castle.

A lightning bolt of red-black fury leapt from the ground to the sky,

Slicing the dark clouds stretched for miles, halting the torrential rain and thunder,

The sky split apart from the point of their standoff,

Opening like the maw of a dark abyss, devouring all in its wake.

Indeed, the clash of their Conqueror's Haki had altered the atmosphere itself!

"What is that?!"

"The sky is splitting apart!!"

Meanwhile, from the other thirty or so islands, the spectacular scene at Cake Island could not go unnoticed,

Leaving everyone rooted in shock.

One individual stealthily retreated to a secluded corner, taking out a Den Den Mushi to broadcast a message,

"Hey, reporting the battle situation."

"Kaido has breached our defenses, and now he's engaging with BigMom!"

"Received, maintain surveillance and update us with any new developments promptly!"

"Understood!"

Back in the castle,

Katakuri, having witnessed the exchange up close, stumbled upon another startling realization,

"The weapons didn't actually touch in the air!"

"Why do I sense a familiar aura on them?!"

His brain struggled to process the scene that defied his understanding.

"Snap out of it, Katakuri!" Perospero's voice came thundering in.

Shaken back to reality, Katakuri refocused his gaze.

Kaido pushed BigMom backward once more as the castle began to disintegrate. Countless enormous stones started plummeting into the main hall. Perospero swiftly constructed a candy wall to shield the unconscious victims from harm. Racing to their aid, Katakuri's steps turned the floor into sticky cakes before he coated everyone with a protective layer of arm-colored sticky cake with a broad sweep of his hand.

Bang!

With a thunderous crash, the castle gave way, sending tens of thousands of tons of reinforced stones tumbling down and stirring up a vast cloud of dust, entombing their group beneath it.

"Kaido!!!" BigMom screamed in rage, her pink hair billowing like a wild lion's mane. Her castle, the repository of all her precious animals, rare treasures, and the succulent cake, now lay in ruins because of Kaido, igniting her fury.

"Huh? I've already stated my demands. Kaido watched her leap back and chose not to follow. Cracking his neck, he said, "Now hand over Pudding, and I can whisk her away immediately."

Take her away after causing such destruction and think to leave without consequence? The thought made BigMom's anger swell. Her cloak flapped in the wind, and with Napolon raised above her head, she channeled all her strength into a swipe, generating a massive sword light from Napolon's body, which she launched with a swift wave.

"Kaido!!!"

A colossal pink Slash Wave tore through the heavens, surpassing the speed of sound and hurtling straight for Kaido, crushing everything in its path into dust. Kaido extended his left hand, his fingertips sharpened into claw-like extensions covered with cyan-blue dragon scales, and caught the incoming Slash Wave.

Zizizi—

The Slash Wave quivered in Kaido's grasp, desperate to escape his draconian grip, but it was futile. It shook Kaido's arm vigorously in its death throes, but eventually, the energy of Wei Guo started to fade. Kaido extinguished it like a candle, its remnants scattering like specks of light slipping through the gaps in his fingers before vanishing into thin air.

Could it be that even armed with color, one's attack could simply be crushed?

BigMom's face grew increasingly grim as she recognized that Kaido's might was beyond what she had imagined. Could his constitution have grown so formidable due to the Green Dragon Fruit? It appeared that only the Conqueror's entanglement could possibly wound him—unless...

"Prometheus! Zeus!"

"Here, Mom!" both answered in unison.

"Heavenly Fire! Thunder!"

As BigMom dropped her hands, a fireball and a thundercloud ascended into the sky. Zeus, surprised, declared, "This weather looks tasty!" Prometheus promptly reprimanded, "Zeus! Listen to Mom!"

Feeling wronged, Zeus complied, and both celestial beings took a deep breath and expanded in size. The rolling fireball quickly transformed into an artificial sun, while the thundercloud morphed into an immense thunderball. BigMom hurled these two massive spheres at Kaido with all her might.

Kaido stood his ground, opting not to block or protect himself with armed colors. He was curious to measure his own defense without any enhancement.
