057: Bai Ye vs Kaido!

The figure stood still as orange-red flames of terrifying heat rose up. Ryūjin Jakka was unsheathed, the two forces were about to meet.

But the outcome was unexpected. Instead of the destructive heat swallowing Bai Ye and the parched sea, Bai Ye sliced it down the middle! 'Hot Breath' split in two and boomed towards the distant sea on either side of Bai Ye.

Two explosions strong enough to destroy islands echoed in the distance. Kaido, against a sky full of dark clouds, did not look away. His dragon eyes focused on Bai Ye, who remained untouched as the dust and smoke cleared in the distance.

Kaido saw it clearly. The moment 'Hot Breath' reached Bai Ye, the man swung his sword just once and split Kaido's attack right down the middle. Furthermore, Bai Ye hadn't moved an inch, despite the blast's impact.

Strong!

That was Kaido's immediate thought. Bai Ye was indeed the one who dared to confront the colossal force like the Rocks back then. But within moments, Kaido opened his bloody mouth again, the killing intent in his eyes burning fiercer.

For Kaido realized this dangerous man could threaten the status of the current Four Emperors once he reached the New World. Hence, he must be stopped here.

Before that, Kaido acknowledged a truth. He left the stale New World for the first half of Grand Line seeking a mighty foe, someone potentially capable of ending his life.

The man before him stirred an urge within him to kill, either now or never. There's no one in this world who fits all my criteria more perfectly than this man! And then, "Bad wind!" Kaido's massive dragon form tilted its head back slightly. Without delay, he targeted Bai Ye once again. Cyan wind blades resembling a weasel's sickle surged toward You Ye, splitting the air with a twisted wail. Soon after, "That's not enough for that dangerous fellow," Kaido thought, a sharp glint appearing in his eyes. His dragon body then spun in place like a top, creating several massive tornadoes that swept up debris and seawater, all hurling toward Bai Ye.

After using 'Bad Wind', Kaido believed it wasn't sufficient to challenge Bai Ye, so he unleashed 'Tornado!' In an instant, bad winds and tornadoes engulfed the entire battlefield. "Oooohoooo!!! This time, you won't come out unscathed! I want to see what you do next! Swish!!" Kaido lifted his head and roared with laughter, the sound booming like a loudspeaker. In that moment, the area around Kaido was alive with thunder and lightning.

Bai Ye watched Kaido tear through the skies, remembering how fortuitous Kaido seemed to him more than once. Despite merely consuming a Devil Fruit, Kaido could wield several elemental attacks. It's clear that if the Pirate world didn't have a power like the "Devil Fruit Sun God Nika Form", Kaido's Devil Fruit might be the strongest among all Zoan types. It's power enough to earn the title of the strongest creature of "sea, land, and air", underscoring the might of the Fish-Fish fruit, mythical beast species, and Azure Dragon form!

Bai Ye had once considered obtaining this Devil Fruit during his travels in the Pirate World. Unfortunately, the original Bai Ye stood little chance in a world dominated by innate talent and heritage, unable to compete with such monstrosities for a powerful Devil Fruit. Just as Bai Ye once unprecedentedly declared after beheading 'Kong,' "Since you're fond of the darkness, Kaido, watch closely, for this is where you too shall be buried in your final act!"
