The thunderbolt shot into the skies, the only wisp of light in this world of darkness that threatened to corrode everything, only that and the streak of white lightning fixed in the skies could ever defy the warmongers that assailed this world.
Yamato stood in front of the crowd together with Denjiro, behind them a mix of samurai and Yakuza wielding rusted or cracked swords ready to fight for their freedom now that the time was nigh.
"AS YOU CAN SEE KAIDO IS NOT DEAD AS THOSE LIARS HAVE STATED, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING TO KOWTOW TO YOUR SHOGUN!? IF YOUR HEADS HIT THE GROUND I MAY ACTUALLY FORGIVE ALL OF YOU!"
Kurozumi Orochi was not ready to give up, he had just experienced the worst pain a person could ever go through but even he could see light at the end of the tunnel with Kaido's return. His face sweated, his body shivered, but the wickedness never abandoned his voice.
Fear spread across as the words of the wicked bastard coursed like a poisonous river into the people's hearts. Even in the current situation, the suffering they had gone through for decades caused by him couldn't be forgotten.
That fear was soon shaken, by something even more thunderous and intimidating.

A gigantic explosion thundered in the skies to clear the clouds and reveal what was the devastating sight of two dragons butting heads. A red lightning one and a black flames one.
The pitch black skies of an artificial night were filled with black flames that resembled drawn ink and fixed red lightning strikes... it was a battle that would forever be remembered in their hearts. Yamato clenched her fists and lifted her voice.
"DON'T FEAR! KAIDO IS STILL ALIVE, BUT SO IS OUR SAVIOUR!"

Another black dragon joined into the fray as they attacked the red lightning dragon together, the situation looked even more desperate, two calamities against their hope, but they saw with dazzling splendour how that lightning dragon managed to keep up and fend off the two of them on his own... it was ridiculous, it was impossible... but it was happening.
'The one that came to save us... is stronger than Kaido and that other demon together! There is hope!'.
Just the sight alone gained the awe of this whole island. It was then that they understood someone was fighting for their sake.
At this point, Yamato was just angry... she was angry for Veyron's sake. No one understood more than her in this place how tired he was, fatigued, mentally exhausted and how much he didn't want to be here... rather, he would have preferred to be with the wives he had just sacrificed to save.
He didn't need to be here.
'But he is here... he never backs off and never complains! He just faces the threat head-on without thinking twice! We can't stop! I CAN'T LET HIM FIGHT ON HIS OWN'.
In her heart, another hero was beginning to brew, one at the same level as Oden and her other hero, Ushimaru... another person she didn't want to disappoint.

The samurai clamoured with such ferocity that even the side King and the Tobiroppo backed off as he prepared to defend the position, now that Kaido was here fighting Veyron, there was nothing to fear... but he and the Tobiroppo knew very well that Yamato was no pushover either.
"MY NAME IS ODEN! TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE SKY FOR THEY'RE IN SAFE HANDS! LOOK AT THE GROUND WHERE WE STAND! THE ENEMY IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!"

It was a revolution without precedents, Yamato transformed into a glorious majestic beast that caught everyone's sight. It was the beast their ancestors worshipped as their 'protector'.

It was the ancestral beast that protected Wano, way before the figure of a dragon became prominent. If there was any shred of doubt in their hearts, it was erased in that moment. She didn't wait or linger.

The daughter of a monster was still a monster. King's eyes flashed with fury as a blazing fire materialised behind him. A humanoid mythological beast technically teleported next to him wielding the predilect weapon of Oni, a Kanabo.
She swung it mercilessly and the attack was even imbued in potent Conqueror Haki and advanced armament Haki, she was determined to show that lightning dragon up there that she was no flower.

King received that attack with his sword, astonished at the strength behind it, it was his first time directly fighting Yamato. The waves of Haki spread across the land and before he knew his body was blasted towards the corrupt castle of the shogun, phasing by a fearful Orochi and the Tobiroppo, gaping mouths in the process.

The impact alone obliterated half of the castle before King's wings flapped and he regained his momentum.
"WE FOLLOW ODEN-SAMA!"
"KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM -DEGOZARU!"
"STICK OROCHI'S HEAD FOR EVERYONE TO WITNESS!".
The time was now, a crowd of samurai charged against the forces of Orochi and the Tobiroppo, and the war had started.
Ulti, Black Maria, Sasaki, Page One and Who's-Who could have never thought that the beast pirates would have ever faced such a chaotic scenario.
'If I had known this I'd have stuck with Cypher Pol!' Who's-who cursed inwardly and charged together with the rest. Black Maria's gaze fixed on the skies for the briefest while, her heart complex.
The citizens of Wano watched everything from the den den mushi projectors with anticipation, it was madness.
'Denjiro!' A certain green-haired girl covered her face in shock and clenched her fist, praying to whoever may listen. She looked at the skies and saw a majestic red lightning dragon fighting in the darkness, against the darkness… and she decided to pray to that god.
'For the freedom of Wano! For my mother and father! For my brother! Please save us!'

A ruthless fight was taking place up there high in the skies. Bloody gore of three dragons biting each other to the marrow although Veyron and Kaido were both so euphoric and vengeful towards one another that they almost paid no heed to the slightly depressed King of the World.
Kaido and Veyron butted heads and the boy felt a dejavú.
"THE SKY IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH FOR TWO DRAGONS, KIDDO!"
"FALL, KAYDO!"
That was not the voice of humans, that was the voice of Gods... divinities capable of severely altering the landscape, turning this world into a nightmare.
"MUAHAHAHAH! MU LOVES IT, CONTINUE TO KILL EACH OTHER! GO AHEAD VEYRON, USE THAT FINAL FORM OF YOURS!-"

A strike from Veyron's tail blasted the gigantic dragon and shut its mouth, its whole head was separated from its body. Veyron was having none of it as he carried on his onslaught against Kaido. Unaware that his attack (which was imbued in potent Haki) was unable to kill that creature.
Kaido lunged and quickly enough his silhouette transformed into that of a humanoid bulky monster with a kanabo created of dark flames.
Similarly, Veyron's body transformed into his humanoid form imbued in red lightning as he grasped the floating cursed Youbi.

Both weapons didn't touch, but the clash produced could be felt around the whole region as the space itself distorted. Kaido grit his teeth, although his fruit was now awakened and his strength had increased considerably he still found himself unable to deliver qualitative damage to Veyron. Similarly, a billion-volt discharge was unable to face him.
Being this the case Veyron opted for swordsmanship.

Sparks flew everywhere. Kokutou Youbi was coated in red lightning while Kaido's kanabo was shrouded in black flames that seemed to be able to burn everything.
"I thought you were dead...!"
"A pity, brat... I came straight out of hell to take you along with me!".

Each strike was reality warping, world-ending and capable of spreading waves as far into the horizon that even the nearby islands felt it. Such was the fight between two Emperors... Veyron whose 4th Haki drastically outclassed Kaido, but the latter's Conqueror Haki was undoubtedly superior.
Veyron created a clone and the floating Youbi arrived in his hand to deliver another strike to Kaido who was focused on his original body. The latter used his tails and horns to viciously tear down any trick or clone.
It was vicious.
A battle of two Emperors in which a pouty Imu could only look as 'he' materialised once again after being blasted away by Veyron, completely unfaced.
"IT SEEMS YOU BOTH AREN'T TAKING ME SERIOUSLY... MU TOOK THE TWO OF YOU HERE TO HAVE FUN, AND YET MU AM BEING IGNORED, IT SEEMS MU HAS TO GET A BIT SERIOUS".

With the night as his canvas, there was nothing out of his control.

The stupefied Veyron and Kaido who were about to clash once again, noticed that they... couldn't move... THEY WHO POSSESSED A CONQUEROR WILL THAT SURPASSED EVERYONE'S, COULDN'T MOVE!

Tremours began to spread across the space, yes... the space itself, and all of a sudden it was as if they had been thrown into a vicious swamp of quicksand in which they were sinking into the very night. Not only that but they felt their energy and power quickly fading away at speeds which could only be described as frightening.

Every single type of energy, even kinetic energy as Veyron noticed, began to head towards the great western dragon as the darkness in this world increased and served as the medius. It was like a tsunami that recalls the sea before returning it.
They were not prepared for this.
The gigantic black western dragon opened his mouth and Veyron recalled something from back in his world, back into those times in which he had passionately studied astronomy, astronomical objects and the complexities of space.
There were some objects in particular which interested him more than anything else... and he... he saw that now, and after living a life of overwhelming victory, he and Kaido finally knew what fear was and that as the old saying stated.
There was always a sky above the sky. Even in this corrupt and broken world, the world government stood at the top undisputed for a reason.
