Chapter 24: Baroque Works

Nami and Usopp were in the forest running. They were on their way to go watch Dorry and Brogy's duel when they ran into a dinosaur. As the two were running away from the dino someone grabbed Nami and dragged her away, going unnoticed by Usopp who was running for his life.

The man took Nami towards an area with a giant cake. Nami was looking around confused as to what was happening before she saw Zoro tied up. "What are you doing here?" Zoro asked her and she said. "Me? Oh, I'm just taking a stroll." As she was tied up and being led towards Zoro by a guy neither of them knew.

Zoro nodded in understanding, causing a tick mark to appear on Nami's forehead. "I obviously got captured, you idiot!" Zoro was shocked. "You got captured? Why didn't you say anything?"

Nami was done with his shit and just asked him. "Do you at least know where we are?" Zoro nodded. "We are at the north-most point of the island. Just like the way I left the ship towards."

Nami nodded thinking for a bit. "You went east when you left. You know that right?" Zoro looked at her and said. "No, I went south." Nami's teeth turned demon-like. "You just said you went north! Why did I even ask you anyway!"

Meanwhile, Luffy was walking around the island with Vivi. Both of them wanted to find the guys on the island. Luffy because they interfered in the duel and Vivi because she knew that they were Baroque works. While they were trying to find the others Luffy saw a dinosaur and punched it. "Cool. Meat." He said as he knocked it out.

"*Wheeze*, *wheeze* T-thanks guys." Usopp said as he appeared from underneath the dinosaur. "Oh, Usopp. My bad! I didn't know that was your meat! I'll go find you another one. Shishishi." Luffy said as he was about to run away because he thought he stole Usopp's kill.

Vivi grabbed him. "Luffy! No! We have to go beat Baroque Works!" Then Luffy stopped. "You're right! That spiky haired guy interfered in the duel!" Usopp was shocked that Luffy knew about the duel. "You know who it was? We have to find them!" Luffy nodded and told Usopp that it was Mr. 5.

"Do you mean that guy?" Usopp asks Luffy as he points to the person running away with Vivi in his arms. Luffy looks at him with a tilted head, then he squints as if he was trying to read small letters. "Yeah! That one!" He says. "Then why didn't we do anything?" Usopp asks as he just watched them take Vivi away. The two both realize what happened and chased after Mrs. Valentine and Mr. 5.

Miss Valentine decides to hold off Luffy while Mr. 5 continues away with Vivi in his arms. Usopp chases after the two and they arrive at the Wax sculpture to see that Nami and Zoro are already caught. They also see that Brogy is caught in the wax as well, after he won his fight against Dorry due to the interference.

Usopp started firing off shots at Mr. 5 who was unaffected by his most powerful exploding star as he was an exploding man. Usopp was starting to run out of ideas as Miss Vantine and Luffy came back as Luffy was chasing her and she was using her kilo-kilo fruit to make herself lighter and run away.

Kai was watching this from on top of a tree branch about 30 feet in the air and he lit a cigarette. He took a long drag and smiled. It was time to stretch. He took one step forward off of the tree branch and allowed himself to fall. He landed on one knee and had one fist on the ground.

Everyone's head's snapped to him as they all just noticed he was here. Cracks spread out in a 10 inch diameter on the ground where his fist and knee landed. He unsheathed his sword and swung it around in a circle quickly and he cracked his neck with his other hand. He pointed the sword at Mr. 5. He exhaled his smoke in a ring pattern and looked through the ring at Mr. 5 before he slashed through the ring with his sword leaving a trail of smoke through the middle of it making it look like a no sign.

Kai crouched down to get ready and everyone else on the crew had a smile on their face as they got ready for their fights as well. They were all about to charge when they heard. "Kyahahaha! Are you really going to fight us? We are the strongest in Baroque works! You don't stand a chan-" She got shut up by a sling shot to the face by Usopp.

Kai sighed deeply. There goes his cool moment. Everyone shook their heads at Miss Valentine. Even Mr. 5, Mr. 3, and Miss Goldenweek. She ruined all the tension for all the fights. Kai got over it first as he charged at Mr. 5. Starting his fight. Mr. 5 just held out his hand to create an explosion in between him and Kai.

(A/N: I understand Kai could wipe the floor with all of these people in two seconds but I wanted to try to write a fighting scene. Let me know what you think as it's my first one.)

The latter saw this and rolled to the side as the explosion went off. This woke everyone up as they all started their fights. Luffy vs. Mr. 3 plus Miss Goldenweek, and Usopp against Miss Valentine. Kai noticed this as he chased Mr. 5 through the forest.

Explosions were resounding through the air. As Mr. 5 was trying to hit Kai, who dodged one and hid behind a tree causing Mr. 5 to lose sight of him. Mr. 5 was scanning the forest to look for Kai who he couldn't see. So, he decided to send a massive explosion in the direction he knew that Kai was. Kai saw this and decided to start his attack.

He sent an air slash right through the massive explosion splitting it in half while the explosion also stopped his slash. Kai charged out through the smoke and appeared right in front of Mr. 5 who was startled. He took a step back off balance as he held out his hands in front of him and an explosion welled up in his fingertips, ready to shoot out in front of him.

Kai then slid under his hands as he slashed out his sword from underneath Mr. 5 and cut off one of his hands as the explosion went off behind him. "AHHH!" Mr. 5 screamed so loud you could hear it over the thundering explosions. Kai rolled in a somersault and stood back up as he flicked the blood off of his blade which buzzed. He turned back around and waited for Mr. 5 to run at him.

Mr. 5 had cauterized his own wound with his explosion accidently so he wasn't bleeding at all. Kai clicked his tongue at this before he shrugged. Mr. 5 was wary of him now and had decided not to charge. Kai sighed as he soru'd closer to him to attack, which caught Mr. 5 off guard again as he didn't expect Kai to know soru.

Mr. 5 barely managed to jump to the side by using an explosion to speed himself up as he rammed into a tree at full force. He didn't have enough control over his fruit to do this in a normal fight as It would damage himself but Kai had put him in a desperate situation so he was forced to use his fruit in ways he normally wouldn't. He got up off of the ground 'holding' his shoulder with his new nub.

He was stumbling and decided to charge. He was only taking damage this way. He ran at Kai and punched out with his good hand, an explosion welling inside it. Kai saw his punch coming and leaped in the air over the explosion and Mr. 5 with a flip as he landed behind him. At the top of his flip he swung his sword and left a huge gash on Mr. 5's outstretched arm which went from his shoulder down to his forearm.

Mr. 5 now had nothing else he could do as both his arms were ruined. Kai knew this and sheathed his sword. Mr. 5 hadn't given up but the fight was long over. Besides, Kai was just toying with him the entire time anyway. Kai pulled out a cigarette and his lighter as Mr. 5 turned towards him and with his final burst of strength decided to get ready for one last attack. Kai sighed when he noticed Mr. 5 wouldn't give up and put his lighter away as he set up a wind barrier.

"RAHHHHHHAAAHHH!" Mr. 5 yelled as he used the last of his stamina to send one more huge explosion at Kai. In a 20 meter diameter around the two all of the trees were uprooted and a few tree's past that were leaning at a 45 degree angle away from where the explosion took place.

The crew only heard a loud scream and a huge explosion causing their eyes to snap towards that direction, worried about Kai. But, they were too busy either in their own fights or trapped in the wax to help out.

*Shu. Haah.* Kai took a long drag and puffed out a cloud of smoke. He had set up a wind barrier around his whole body except for the tip of his cigarette, using it to light it. He flicked his finger at the man standing in front of him and a tiny wind slash no longer than a foot and no wider than a few millimeters sped through the air, invisible to the naked eye and moving too fast for anyone other than Kai to see anyway.

"Wha-" Mr. 5's voice was cut off as his head slid off of his body. With a thud it landed on the ground by his feet and rolled towards Kai as his body fell to its knees only to fall forwards landing right beside his head. Kai didn't say a word as he turned around and walked back towards the crew.
