14 Chapter 14: Start of Canon!

2 years later (again) [Year 1522] The year Luffy sets sail!

A 23 year old Kai had requested that he be moved to the east blue. All it took was asking Garp for a favour and he was immediately allowed to go. He was confident in his strength now. He had mastered kenbunshoku haki to a future sight of 10 seconds into the future and his range had gotten a bit larger. He had mastered the hardening of busoshoku haki but still didn't get the advanced techniques yet. He had nearly perfect control over his devil fruit and he has mastered the six powers. (He didn't master the seventh secret power because there was no point. The only reason he mastered the original six was to train his body and have an extra power to show off without revealing his devil fruit and true strength) He was confident that if he had to fight a Yonko he wouldn't lose. Not to say that he would win as he doesn't believe he was strong enough to land a decisive blow without advance busoshoku haki but he knew that he wouldn't lose to them either. He was a speed type who would often use counter attacks to injure his opponents. (only when they are strong. The weak ones he would fight in whatever was the most efficient way) He was ready to go out to sea as he was confident that nothing could go wrong with his strength in the first half of the grand line or even the marineford war. If that even still happened.

He walked out into Loguetown with a sword on his waist, it was the same one Shanks gave him years ago, Kashu. He had dyed his hair so that it was black. He was wearing a messy bun at the back of his hair while letting a few strands run down along the sides of his mask. (season 4 Eren from AOT when it's tied up messy)

He had the same mask on and was still 6'1 with a lean and muscular build but not bulging muscles. He was pretty happy with his looks and judging by the fact that many ladies' jaws dropped when he walked past him he was definitely considered eye candy. The only part of his face you could see with the mask on was his bright blue eyes but even that was enough to tell he probably had a handsome face. Which he did. He quite liked his face and had no problems showing it off without the mask if it wasn't for certain circumstances. He had a great jawline and solid facial features which were well defined. The most unique part of his face was his curly eyebrows which we actually really liked. He felt that they added to his looks and completed the look.

He was clean shaven unlike Sanji but you could still see the resemblance. He was wearing an all black suit with a black dress shirt and a white tie. He had black dress shoes on and had his white marine coat draped over his shoulders like the admirals did. His marine coat had all the detailing in black instead of yellow and red like the normal ones. (The shoulder parts and cuffs on the sleeves) He had a cigarette in his mouth and his sword on his left hip.

Kai walked up to a man smoking two cigars at once.

"Hey Smokey you know those are bad for you right?" Kai asked Smoker as he was smoking himself. He had picked it up years ago as his body was so strong that it wouldn't actually affect him at all just like many people in the one piece world.

Smoker groaned "What are you doing here brat?"

"Hehe. Don't be so mean Smokey I thought we were friends. If you keep bullying me I'll tell on you to Hina."

"I'm gonna kill you someday." Smoker walked away as he didn't want to deal with another headache right now.

"Smokey! I'm going out to catch the bad guys! You just wait here for my call! Also tell Tagashi I said hi!" Kai yelled at Smoker who was walking away.

"Now then where's shells town?"

Kai walked into a bar and saw a little girl named Rika trying to make food. When she looked at him and saw him with a justice cloak on she looked scared. Kai walked up slowly and started talking to the girl.

"Are you making some food?"

"Um-m-m yes."

"Can I make some too? There's this weird guy on a pole outside who looks hungry, I think he needs some food."

"R-really? You're gonna help him?"

"Yup. Why wouldn't I?"

"The marine captain here doesn't want you too."

"I see. That's not very nice of him."

After Rika finished making her food they walked up to the marine base and they fed Zoro before walking away.

"You're a really good person Rika. Soon someone's gonna come save this town. He is someone really great. I'm sure you will hear a bunch about him in the future."

Kai left the bar and waited for Luffy to show up. He started going around the island collecting evidence of all the crimes the marines were committing.

When Luffy showed up Kai was ready to throw the marines at any time. He watched as Luffy met Rika and how he invited Zoro into his crew. He let Luffy and Zoro beat Captain Morgan he arrested him and called Smoker.

"I got one Smokey. A real bad guy! Are you proud of me?"

"Just bring the pirate in Fujin."

"Ah. but it's not a pirate, it's a marine. Guess what he did? Well..." Kai explained all the things Morgan had done and how a pirate saved the island before Smoker asked who the pirate was.

"What's your name kid?"

"My name is Monkey D. Luffy and I'm gonna be the pirate king!!"

"I have no idea what his name is Smokey. He just won't tell me."

"I can hear him yelling his name over the phone brat!"

"*krek* *krek* Sorry Smokey your breaking up I can't hear you.*click*" Kai hung up the phone.

"Goddamn Smokey always on my ass." He said as he lit a cigarette.

"So who are you?" He asked the pink haired kid.

"I-i-i am Koby and I want to be a marine."

"Why?"

"To make the world a better place."

"Not justice?"

"Wouldn't making the world a better place for everyone be justice?"

"Good. I like you kid."

Kai picked up his phone. "Hey Gramps, I found a good recruit for you… Yeah I think this one might actually survive... I'd say a solid 50% chance he does… yeah and he has some spirit too… Also his heart is in the right place, trust me you'll love him... Yeah see you later."

"D-d-did you just say 50%?"

"Actually looking at you again… Maybe 40%. This will either be the best or worst decision of your life, kid."

Kai said as he walked away from a shaking Koby. "Maybe 30%" Koby heard this and started crying. He flew off towards Orange town.
