Chapter 179

[1 week later]

Ken was in his room getting his bandages changed by Celine.

"Ouch! Be gentle, babe."

"Be quiet! If you can't deal with the pain, you shouldn't have gotten injured in the first place. This is all your fault!" screamed Celine as she tightened the bandages even more.

"You know, treating someone while your hands are shaking isn't a good idea."

"When are you going to stop? All this fighting and unnecessary killing, when is it going to stop?" Ken turned around and looked at Celine who's eyes are becoming watery.

"I've already promised you that I'll stop once I achieve my dream."

"You've also promised me that you wouldn't get hurt, but look at you now. How am I supposed to believe your promises?"

"I understand what you mean, but-"

"No! You don't understand a thing! Do you know how worried I was when you went to fight with her! I couldn't even get a wink of sleep! All I could think about was if I would one day wake up and read the newspaper, only to find that you've been killed and people are celebrating your death. You don't understand at all what I'm feeling!"

Ken looked like he wanted to comfort her but didn't know what to say. Celine suddenly grabbed his hands and put them against her heart.

"I know that I can't ask you to stop, and I won't. Just please don't go and leave me alone. I don't want to go through that again. You're all I have, so please don't do anything reckless," said Celine as tears started falling from her eyes. Ken hugged her, and she started crying on his chest.

"I'm sorry for being such a bad boyfriend and making you worried all the time. But you're right, you can't trust my promises. After all, anything could happen. Being a pirate and a Yonko at that means that a lot of people don't like me," said Ken, making Celine tighten her hug.

"But being a Yonko also means that I'm at the top of the food chain. And having defeated another Yonko who has been in that position for many years further solidifies my strength. Not to mention all my reliable comrades that will go to hell and back with me. So I won't shower you with nice words anymore, but let my actions do the talking. I'll definitely get the freedom I've dreamed of, and when that day comes, I'll pump you full of children and create a big family."

"You bastard!" Celine tried to get out of the hug, but Ken didn't let her go. "I'm talking about a serious topic, and here you are making dirty jokes. You are too much."

"Hahaha, you've stopped crying, so my plan has worked."

Celine glared at him, but he just smiled back, so she gave up on glaring at him.

"Sigh, sorry for screaming at you."

"No, it's fine. I'd rather you be honest and let out all of your emotions onto me instead of keeping everything inside and hurting yourself. But you did kinda overdo it. Look at all the snot on my chest."

Celine turned bright red and quickly cleaned everything off. "Don't you dare tell this to anyone!"

"You mean how you were crying like a little kid and getting snot all over the place? Ouch!" Celine stomped her heel on Ken's foot.

"Did you say anything?"

"No! I didn't say anything, miss Celine!"

Celine looked down at Ken's foot and frowned. "That didn't hurt, did it?"

Ken looked at her and smiled. "Did you really think that a great Yonko like me could get hurt with just that? You should try harder next time."

"Yeah, you're right, so you better not close your eyes around me. But enough playing around, go and rest. I'll go make you something to eat." Celine turned around and started walking away.

"Smack!"

"Kyaa!"

"You shouldn't show your big wagon when you're around me."

"Tsk, I'll let you of this one time, but I'll definitely get you back next time," said Celine as she left Ken's room to make him some food.

'I'm glad that she is being honest with me, but what did I do to deserve someone as amazing as her?'

In a dark alley in the Jiyū Kingdom, lightning sparks could be seen flying off of Deuce's hand as he was getting ready to attack the person clad in white clothes in front of him.

"I am not here for a fight, sir Lewis Marfont, heir of the Marfont family, one of the twenty Celestial Dragon families."

Deuce froze, and the lightning in his hand disappeared.

"How?"

"You didn't think that just putting on a mask would hide your identity, right?"

"Tsk. It doesn't matter if my identity is known. I'm not so weak anymore that I need to hide. So why did you come here, CP-0 bastard?"

"I came here under the orders of Mr. and Mrs. Marfont. They want you to come back home."

"Are you stupid? Do you really think that you have what it takes to bring me back? But since I'm in a good mood today, I'll let you off. Now fuck off and don't appear in front of me again."

"That's unfortunate. It seems like Ms. Louise's fate has been sealed by your response." He took out a picture of a little girl chained on a chair.

"You bastard!" Deuce grabbed his collar and smashed him against a wall. "Did you come here to die by showing me a fake picture! Even if I disagree with my parents, they would never hurt their own children like that!"

"You seem to be misunderstanding something, sir. This wasn't decided by your parents; it was the decision of the 5 Elders. If you don't come back home, they will deliver your little sister's body to you. But of course, if you comply and go back to your family, your little sister will be spared."

(Why 5 Elders and not 4? Making it known that one of them died would send the world into chaos, so they're obviously hiding it. Btw, I don't remember if I made it know to the world, so if I have, just forget about it. :) )

Deuce threw the guy on the ground and started smashing his own head on the ground till it started bleeding. He then stood up and looked calmly at the CP-0 agent.

"I take it that you have a ship with you?"

"Of course, sir, please follow me. I'm sure that your family would be happy to have you back."

"Stop talking and start moving. If I find out that you've been lying, I swear that I'll destroy Mary Geoise even if it costs me my life."

The CP-0 agent didn't seem to care about Deuce's threat and lead him to a ship that was going undercover as a merchant ship. Deuce was given a hood to wear so that he could hide his identity since everyone on the island knows him. He got on the ship and looked at the Palace.

'I'm sorry, everyone, please forgive me for my selfishness.'
