153 Chapter 153
It's currently 1 am. Above the ocean, you could see a person made out of shadows appearing and disappearing repeatedly. This person would be easily missed if it was a normal person that looked in his direction, but the ones that have spotted him today aren't normal.
When the person was about to disappear again, he suddenly started falling towards the ocean at a breakneck speed. But before he hit the ocean, he vanished into the shadows again. But the moment he came out of them in another place, he got kicked by a shining light, sending him flying towards another person with 2 scars over his eyes.
"Gravito!" Before the person could do anything, a crushing pressure appeared on top of him.
"Fujitora, you bastard! Don't underestimate me!" The person started leaking out shadows from their hands as they plummeted down and started wrapping it around their body until they were fully clad in armor made out of shadows. But it didn't seem like they were done just yet. The shadows that were moving around on their armor started to slowly condense till it turned into pitch black armor that you couldn't differentiate from real armor. "Shadow Armor: Stage 5!"
(The higher the stage, the denser and more protective the armor is. He has 5 stages currently.)
The person in the shadow armor that was previously about to plummet into the ocean again is now standing still in the air like the pressure doesn't affect him at all.
"Very impressive, Kage Robert. To think that your Devil Fruit is so versatile, but that won't be enough to beat us! Kizaru, let's finish this quickly before he gets back up." said Fujitora. Kizaru nodded, and they went towards Robert.
'Shit, where they waiting for me, or do I have shitty luck? I can't even use my portal with this armor on, but if I take it off and get hit, I'm screwed. I'm bad at taking damage. But I have already sent a signal for help, so hopefully, someone is close enough to get the signal, or I'll be screwed,' thought Robert.
Kizaru appeared behind Robert and kicked his foot down towards Robert's head. Robert almost managed to dodge it but still got scraped on the left side of his face. Luckily the armor managed to protect him.
But Kizaru wasn't the only one there. Fujitora sent a purple sword slash towards Robert. Robert jumped over the sword slash, but both Kizaru and Fujitora appeared at the place he landed. They both attacked him at the same time.
"SHADOW SPIKES!" screamed Robert. The shadow armor suddenly turned into about a dozen sharp spikes and attacked Kizaru and Fujitora, stopping them right in their tracks. Kizaru managed to dodge them, but Fujitora wasn't so lucky. He got pierced in his left shoulder. Robert sent the rest of the spikes to finish him off, but Fujitora managed to jump away at the last second.
The spikes turned back into armor, and if it didn't cover his entire face, you would be able to see a smirk on Robert's face.
But that smirk quickly vanished when Fujitora appeared right in front of him. Fujitora slashed his blade towards Robert's gut and went right through his armor, leaving a big cut on his stomach. Robert immediately backed off as far as he could with shock clearly visible in his eyes.
"Don't look so shocked. Do you think that I wouldn't try and improve myself after not being able to touch that guy?" said Fujitora.
"I see. You used your fruit to decrease the gravity around you, making you a lot lighter and thus faster. When your blade touched me, I could feel myself becoming lighter for a split second."
"You're smarter than I thought," said Fujitora as he and Kizaru got prepared to attack again.
"Say, Fujitora, Kizaru, did you know that light and gravity are about the same in speed? But do you know which is even faster than those two? Shadows!"
(Don't quote me on this one. After I've done a little research, I think that shadows are faster. But like I said, don't quote me on that.)
The armor around Robert got sucked back into his body. The next second, a sphere of shadows appeared around him, which disappeared just as quickly as it came. Out of the sphere of shadows came an entirely different Robert. He has turned pitch black. If he was lying behind you, you would think that it was just your shadow. He had no defining features like eyes, nose, or mouth.
Robert suddenly disappeared from their sight. The next second, both Kizaru and Fujitora got sent back flying from a punch to the face. Robert appeared next to Kizaru and kicked 50 times before he smashed his heel into his face, sending him flying down. But before he hit the ground, a purple hue appeared around him, stopping him from falling.
"Well, this is a surprise. But you do know that shadows always run away from light, right?" said Kizaru as he threw a giant ball of light into the air, which obscured the moon, and started lighting up the night sky.
Robert looked at Kizaru with an irritated expression and then immediately appeared in front of Fujitora. But he was prepared and blocked a punch from Robert with his sword. Robert immediately swung his other arm, which also got blocked. 100 punches, and 1 second later, it was Fujitora's turn to attack. Robert managed to land a couple of punches on Fujitora, wounding him slightly, but he didn't seem to be bothered by them.
Fujitora immediately started slashing at Robert, who dodged all of them, Except for the sword slash that was coming from behind him sent by Kizaru. It hit Robert on his back, which gave Fujitora the chance to attack Robert. He went right for his heart, but Robert dodged at the last second and got stabbed in his left shoulder instead. Robert immediately kicked Fujitora away, making the sword leave his shoulder. He immediately disappeared from his previous position, dodging a sword made out of light.
Robert looked to be in quite the pickle as he had a lot of open wounds, but if you paid close attention, you could see shadows moving around on his wounds and slowly stopping the bleeding.
'I should have paid closer attention in those fighting lessons. It seems like mainly focusing on my Devil Fruit wasn't such a great idea. And damn that stupid ball of light! I should be able to even match Tani in speed with this form, but because of that damn light, my powers have been reduced,' thought Robert with annoyance on his face.
'Why did I have to fight a light user! I knew that it would be annoying, but being able to decrease my powers by simply shining a bright light on me is fucking cheating! I thought that I finally could go all out now that it was night and the sun isn't affecting my powers,' thought Robert as he looked at Kizaru like he was his most hated enemy.
'I should find a way to escape these two. Even though I managed to stop the bleeding, I'm badly injured. If I wasn't afraid of Captain finding out and scolding me for being a weakling, I would have screamed out in pain already.'
"Kage Robert, either come with us willingly, or this place will become your grave!" said Fujitora.
"Hahaha, don't even try to talk with me. It's either I die here, or the two of you die. There is no in between. So come at me already, you bastards!" screamed Robert.
Kizaru and Fujitora weren't even surprised. Someone as strong as Robert would rather die than getting captured and rot in prison.
"You're right. There is no need for talking," said Fujitora as he and Kizaru used Geppo and Soru to run towards Robert. Robert immediately ran forward and met them head-on.
