1 Boogeyman
I attempted to move my body, but all I felt was excruciating pain. Being stabbed was far from a pleasant experience, to say the least. Well, dwelling on it wouldn't do me any good anyway.
"Hey Nina, I think today's the day I'll finally meet the real Boogeyman," I chuckled, turning my head towards her.
"You really have a knack for making jokes in the most dire situations, don't you, Mr. Boogeyman?" she replied sarcastically, though her eyes betrayed a hint of sorrow.
"I didn't ask for the nickname, you know they gave it to me after that incident..." I retorted.
"Well, that's true. You were quite terrifying back then," she smirked at me.
"It seems like I don't have much time left. I've never felt so weak before," I said, looking at Nina.
"Anyway, I know what I'm getting myself into. Just tell everyone to take care and live without regrets, like me," I whispered softly, struggling to keep my eyes open, but my efforts were in vain.
Nina stared at me, her eyes filled with tears, but I couldn't comprehend her words. Even though she knew I was going to die, she couldn't control her emotions, despite being trained for it her whole life.
As she cried, my life flashed before my eyes. It was unbelievable that one could witness their entire life before death. So, the rumors were true after all, I thought.
From being sold by my parents to ending up in an orphanage, meeting Nina, Vlad, and Kenny, undergoing intense training in combat, firearms, coding, and hacking, even being forced to kill prisoners at the age of 14. If it weren't for Nina, Vlad, and Kenny, I probably wouldn't have survived.
Countless memories flooded my mind. I had lived a truly extraordinary life. Many people might think I had lived a glamorous life like James Bond in the movies, but when I said I had lived one hell of a life, I meant it, quite literally.
As darkness enveloped me, my thoughts became sluggish. I couldn't help but yearn for a different world, free from all constraints...

My thoughts bombarded me, and as I tried to make sense of my surroundings by delving into my memories, I suddenly felt a splitting sensation in my mind. I screamed, abruptly halting my exploration.
"What the hell was that?" I woke up in a cold sweat, trying to comprehend what was happening. And then it hit me—I could feel my body and see with my own eyes.
A voice echoed in my head.

As I stand up from my bed and approach the mirror, I see shiny black hair cascading down to my neck, red eyes that seem to absorb light, and a chiseled, athletic body. From my memories, I know I am 198cm tall and weigh 90kg. I resemble Sung Jinwoo from Solo Leveling, but with a more muscular physique. I'm definitely going to turn heads.
Huh, it seems I'm currently on Down Island. I've managed to build a small house to live in.
