10 First Quest - 2

"Somehow I get excited" ( Sweet Pea )

Sweet Pea smiled and the other Kuja Pirates felt the same way.

The atmosphere around them changed, feeling the danger lurking around. Ran and the others put on a wary stance, ready to fight at any moment.

If in the outside world this sense of danger might not bother them but inside the Dungeon it was different. Perhaps because their Statuses were set back to those of normal people, they felt a sense of danger. It felt like fighting someone who had the same strength as them.

After a while, they didn't find any monsters that were about to attack. Therefore they continued their journey towards where the Horned Rabbit was.

They already had an idea where the Horned Rabbit's location was, their journey was smooth.

After walking for 15 minutes, they arrived at their destination. A wide meadow with trees growing around it. At last one could see the Horned Rabbit eating or roaming the meadows.

The Horned Rabbit has the appearance of a normal rabbit. It is about 50 cm long and has a sharp black horn on the forehead.

There are roughly 30 Horned Rabbits here. To drop the items themselves besides meat and skin, there are also horns.

They didn't attack immediately, but hid behind one of the big trees.

"The target has been found, but before attacking we have to discuss the strategy first" ( Ran )

"Fine, I'll get the rabbit's attention. When the rabbit directs its attack on me, I'll defend it with a shield. That's when you attack" ( Sweet Pea )

"Good idea. But you can't take lots of rabbits at the same time, better catch them one by one" ( Marguerite )

They nodded, agreeing with the strategy discussed earlier. After a while, they were ready to attack.

Sweet Pea came out from behind a tree and ran towards Horned Rabbit, her friends following behind.

The Horned Rabbit she was aiming for was level 1 so the status should be the same as them.

"Take this" Sweet Pea said as she slashed her sword at the rabbit she was aiming for.

( Here Sweet Pea uses a sword and shield, even though her main weapon is a shield but she needs a sword to be able to injure the enemy )

The rabbit was able to dodge Sweet Pea's slashes and run away from him.

"Be careful, this monster relies on its speed" ( Sweet Pea )

The rabbit's running speed was faster than them, that's why Sweet Pea said that the rabbit's main strength was speed.

The runaway rabbit turned around, its red eyes staring at Sweet Pea who had attacked it.

It wasn't long before the rabbit was running again, aiming for Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea herself readied her shield to block the attack from the Horned Rabbit.

The Horned Rabbit's sharp horn hit Sweet Pea's shield and made a sound like 2 metals colliding. The Horned Rabbit's movement paused for a moment and it was this gap that it went through.

"Now" ( Sweet Pea )

From behind her came Daisy and Aphelandra who swung their swords to cut down the Horned Rabbit. The attack succeeded and the Horned Rabbit fell backwards.

Then 2 arrows flew towards the injured Horned Rabbit and managed to hit it. But that attack wasn't enough to kill it, Sweet Pea and the others prepared to launch another attack.

The Horned Rabbit ran again but because of the damage it received, its speed dropped. Sweet Pea caught up and swung her sword.

Horned Rabbit bounced towards Daisy and Aphelandra who then attacked it again. Horned Rabbit dies after being hit by the second arrow released by Ran and Marguerite.

"Phewh, we did it" ( Sweet Pea )

"It's not too difficult, but the speed makes us bother a little" ( Daisy )

After death, the items that fall are meat and horns. There was no skin on the first rabbit.

"No skin, just meat and horns. Then what are these horns for?" ( Aphelandra )

"I don't know, we'll ask Mr. Toda later," Daisy said, to which Aphelandra nodded

"I got 10 XP, how about you guys?" ( Sweet Peas )

"Me too 10, and I'm sure the others will also get 10. Since we are forming a party, all XP will be divided equally" ( Ran )

"That means a level 1 monster is worth 50 XP. We can level up by killing 20 level 1 monsters. But that's alone, while there are five of us" ( Marguerite )

"We need 100 monsters huh? It will take long" ( Daisy )

"But we will also get XP when completing Quests, let's take a lot of Quests" ( Aphelandra )

After that they looked for a level 2 rabbit. The strategy was still the same so they didn't hesitate, the difference was that this time they used Busoshoku Haki.

Since the rabbit's level was higher than them, its strength should also be higher. This was proven when Sweet Pea held the attack. Sweet Pea took a few steps back and her HP dropped.

The other attacks also missed because of the rabbit's speed. If you get hit too, the injuries that are caused are not too severe. So they use Busoshoku Haki, the damage dealt is much better.

After a while, they managed to defeat a level 2 Horned Rabbit. Some of them lost their HP from being hit. Drop items are also complete, namely meat, skin, and horns. They also gain 15 XP.

"Turns out it's quite difficult to fight a level above us. I understand why Arata told us to be careful" ( Sweet Pea )

"Let's take a short break, then continue" ( Ran )

They agreed with Ran's suggestion, after resting for 30 minutes they continued hunting. By the time approaching 4 pm, they finished collecting the items requested by Mr. Toda.

"Items obtained, let's go back" ( Ran )

Marguerite and the others nodded, then walked off the prairie towards the town.

When the guard saw them approaching, he immediately recognized them as the adventurer who came out this morning and greeted them.

"Good afternoon, you have returned. I see you are safe, although you have some injuries" ( Guard )

"Yes, we succeeded in the Quest. We got injured when fighting monsters that have a higher level than us" ( Ran )

"You guys better not be too hasty. Many adventurers have died fighting stronger monsters" ( Guard )

Guard nods. Ran and his friends continued on their way to Pak Toda's butcher's shop.
