4 The Awakening ( Part 3 )

Year: 1/15/1474

Today, the whole town was celebrating the birthday of Drake Acnologia. There were about 68 people in total on the whole medium-size island. So when the kids had their birthday parties, everyone celebrated it since everyone knew each other personally. Especially the Ancologia family as Drake's family did a lot for the town. Diana is now the last doctor on the island and helps everyone when they get sick or anything else.

Drake would help out his mom when she needed extra arms at her medical facility which was a small office in the middle part of the town. He would also help out the townsfolk and the kids when he wasn't training or practicing medical techniques from his mom. Drake's dad lost his life protecting this island and everyone else on it. So the Ancologia family was pretty respected on the island.

" Hey, Drake happy birthday." That was pretty much what I heard this morning as my mom, Albert, and I walked around the town. I had Morgan strapped around my back with a belt. I have gotten multiple gifts to the point I can't carry all of them, so Mom and Albert helped me carried them. Although I was feeling pretty good, I kept having a feeling something bad was going to happen.

" What's the matter, you keep the worried face since you have woken up," Diana asked Drake as the group came to a stop. Albert also asked Drake what's going on with saying " Ohohoho" in a worried tone as Drake just said it was nothing. The group walked towards the only bakery shop in the town to get the birthday cake for the party at night time so during the day pretty much everyone came over with gifts and there was no time for the family of three.

Night

Mom put the candles on the cake as I and Albert just watched. After mom lighted them up, I was about to blow them out before I heard loud shouts of pain outside. We looked out the window and saw a pirate crew attacking. We saw the worry in each other eyes.

" Drake,nooooo, I know what your thinking. Your not gonna go fight them. I don't wanna lose you either." Diana said to Drake in a shaky voice.

" Mom, those are pirates, they are gonna kill everyone and god knows what else. I'm the strongest person here, please mom." I said back to her, she thought about it for a few minutes before giving me and Albert permission to go fight but told them if things got out of control, they were to run. As the two rushed out to fight, Diana went out to gather up all the kids.

As I and Albert saw the destruction that was happening, we became pissed at what we saw, there was nothing but death as mobs of pirates with guns and swords just slaughtered everyone in their sight.

I immediately attacked them slashing at their throats killing them instantly, not thinking about I just killed humans for the first time. Albert picked up a sword from one of the mobs I killed and he went on a killing spree before being stopped by whats seems to be the Vice-Captain of the crew. I was stopped by a green-haired middle-aged man with a scar across his left eye.

" Zeheheheh, brat. You're pretty good for being so young. The name is Mike, how about joining me." Mike said to me to which my answer was me sending out a small sword slash to which he blocked. I dashed him at hoping to strike him down in one go but my sword was blocked.

As our sword kept clashing making loud clanging sounds, I kept looking around making sure no one else was killed. I saw mom carrying a baby in her arms along with a couple of kids back to the house. As I wasn't paying attention for a couple of seconds, Mike managed to make a cut across my shoulder but I stopped it with my sword. We continued our fight as I didn't worry about the cut that much. I was hoping for Morgan power to activate but its spirit just wouldn't listen.

Albert and his opponent that looked 29 fight were coming to an end. Albert was shot a couple of times but he fought on. He cut away his opponent's left hand that had his gun. Albert and his opponent rushed at each other with blooding gushing out of their bodies.

Both of them struck down each other at the same time as more blood came out from where they were slashed at. Albert tried to stand up again but fell down to the ground as did his opponent but Albert tried to stand up to help Drake multiple times before failing.

"Hey Albert, that's enough, I got this," I yelled out jumping away from Mike after I saw the state Albert was in. At this point, I was pretty worried but I knew the moment I lose centration I would die here. Before I could move, I heard a couple of gunshots one headed for Albert and the other for my mom who just reached the house along with the kids.

As I yelled out no, the bullet hit Albert's head, and the one hit Diana's heart. I sent out two slashes that hit the two mops who shot the bullet as I rushed where Mom and Albert were. Mike decided to let the boy have the moment to let him know his death was going to be next.

I had Albert in my arms who was breathing weakly as I rushed to my mom who was still breathing. I put Albert next to my mom making sure I didn't make the wounds any worse.

( Cringe I'm not good at writing moments like those. )

" Hey guys, I promise both of you will be fine. Just wait for a minute." I said now fully crying as I held both of their arms.

" Honey, listen, whatever you do, I will always be proud of you. Take care of yourself from now on and I will always love you. I will be watching you now along with your dad from heaven." Diana said to Drake as she coughed blood in between her words before dying with a smile on her face trying to brighten up Drake even a little bit.

Albert tried to speak up but he couldn't so he just wiped away Drake's tear before handing him over a necklace that was made from the tiger's teeth along with other strong animals he killed. It was made by Drake as a way to show far Albert came and how far he was from being the strongest animal in the world. Albert died after handing over the necklace to Drake.

As I watched their deaths, I couldn't help but let my tears out as I kept punching the ground over and over again. My heartfelt like it was pieced over a thousand times.

" Why must everyone leave me. "

" I failed to protect them again."

" WHY"

" WHY"

" WHY"

"It's because you are too weak, brat. Wahahaha, in this world only strength matters above all else. If you were strong enough you could have prevented all of this. Mike said to Drake as he walked over scaring the kids even more now.

" Is that why then I just reach the top of this world where no one can resist my authority," I said back while releasing red lighting from my body remembering everyone who lost their lives for no reason.

'Mom deserved to live the rest of her life peacefully along with everyone else. Albert didn't deserve a death like this. He should have accomplished his goals before this.' I thought while a suffocating pressure came out of me.

" I make sure something like this doesn't happen all over again," I said to him as I turned around as one of the kids picked up the baby and ran away from us with the other kids. As I released my conqueror's haki out of my body, a similar pressure came out of Excalibur Morgan.

Our conqueror's haki clashed against one each knocking out everyone near us, it scared away Mike as he took a couple of steps back from the sheer pressure. The clash lasted about 3 minutes before finally acknowledging me as its new master.

" Enjoy your last night," I yelled out as I dashed at Mike picking up Morgan from the ground. He blocked block me with his sword but I kept pushing him back as I kept relentlessly attacking him ignoring any injuries I received back.

" Increase Morgan". I said while I was in the air, increasing the size of Morgan as I brought it down towards Mike's sword which was easily destroyed now. The sword's spirit told me how to use its powers when it acknowledged me. As Mike had no weapons to attack me with, I blitzed at him slashing towards his neck as I decreased Morgan's size back to normal. As my sword made contact with Mike's neck, I cut it off clean as blood burst out of Mike's neck.

As the battle was finally over, I could let out all of my emotions now. As I looked over the destruction the pirates caused, I stood up back again and made sure none of them were going to stand up again.

Next-Day Morning

After everything was cleaned up, the whole town held a funeral for everyone who lost their lives. It was a sad day as no one was smiling along with rain pouring down as the funeral was going on. Around 29 people were alive after the pirate crew attacked. Some were stilled alive but died from injuries as some of the retired doctors were killed except for one elderly grandma who is 58 years old who tried but couldn't save them. She started teaching two kids how to become medical doctors.

As I stood at mom's and Albert's grave, everyone came up to me thanking me and Albert for protecting their family along saying sorry for my loss. I knew they truly did mean it as I did the same for those who lost their family members as well. After the funeral, I just went back home and did nothing but look over the photos I had of mom and Albert.

Next Week

As I came out of the house with Morgan on my back as now I feel like I always need it in case anything happens. I just started walking around going nowhere in particular. As I was walking some kids around 3 and 4 that were alive came up to me to thank me for protecting them. Everyone was still afraid as I could hear them get startled or afraid if they heard anything similar to gunshots. The town had forgotten just how cruel pirates were since no one attacked them in eight years. Preparations were being made in case something similar like what happened yesterday night happens.

Eventually, I walked into the gravesite of Albert and mom's graves. As I cleaned them up, I started thinking about what to do now.

' I don't think I could stay on this island anymore. They wouldn't want me to just waste away here. I have to accomplish Albert's goals along with Mom's as well. I think know what can kind of impact I want to make in this world.' I thought after I cleaned up the headstone.

' I think I join the World Government first, it gives the best access to training and some protection as well. I could also access some hidden information like the Sun God if I reach high enough of a rank. After that, I most likely be chased by the Government but by then I should be strong enough to protect myself.' That was what I decided on after thinking about this for a whole year.

' But how to join the World Government is the problem. Hmm, I need to think this one through. " I thought walking out of the gravesite.
